The Villian Who Broke The Story
Chapter 139 — The One Who Will Kill Him
Xavier stood opposite the Seer with a cold expression etched across his face.
The room was unusually quiet.
There were no guards stationed outside the chamber, nor were there any servants moving through the corridors. The Seer had specifically requested that their meeting remain private, and considering the identity of the person she had summoned, even the strongest members of the organization had no intention of questioning her decision.
In front of the Seer floated a translucent orb.
Its surface continuously shifted, displaying countless images that appeared and disappeared almost immediately.
Mountains.
Cities.
Battles.
Faces.
Deaths.
Possibilities.
Xavier stared at the orb for several seconds before narrowing his eyes.
The atmosphere reminded him of the last time the Seer had attempted to look into Kael’s future while they were in the academy.
Only this time, something was different.
There was an unpleasant pressure filling the room.
Something that even Xavier could feel.
"There has to be a good reason why you called me here."
He sharpened his gaze.
"Care to tell?" Xavier inquired.
The Seer remained silent.
Her fingers were trembling slightly.
Xavier noticed it immediately.
Then his eyes moved toward her face.
Blood was slowly flowing from the corners of her eyes.
Xavier’s expression became colder.
"I see, so you’ve finally been able to peek into his future," Xavier asked.
The Seer didn’t answer.
Instead, the orb suddenly flickered.
The room became colder.
A dreadful aura emerged from the orb, forcing the air itself to become heavy.
Xavier’s eyes narrowed.
"That is not good," Xavier stated.
The Seer finally raised her head.
Her eyes were still bleeding.
"He’s the one."
She paused.
Her gaze locked with Xavier’s.
"That’ll kill you."
Silence.
For several seconds, neither of them moved.
The dreadful aura eventually disappeared, and the room returned to normal.
The Seer breathed heavily.
Xavier, however, remained completely still.
His expression was neutral.
Almost unnaturally so.
Then a faint smirk appeared on his face.
"Now that’s interesting, but I doubt that he’s strong enough to kill me in the future," Xavier replied with a smirk.
He turned around.
"After all, the future is always changing," Xavier said as he turned to leave.
The Seer stared at his back.
"That’s not what I meant."
Xavier stopped.
"So you know?," the Seer asked.
Xavier slowly turned his head.
"I don’t really understand your question here," Xavier stated.
"I see."
The Seer lowered her gaze toward the orb.
"You seemed to have known before me."
Xavier’s expression didn’t change.
The Seer reached toward the orb.
The images disappeared.
In their place appeared a mysterious symbol.
A symbol that looked ancient.
Its edges were faded, almost as though the passage of countless centuries had slowly erased it from existence.
But Xavier recognized it immediately.
His eyes narrowed.
The symbol of Demon Royalty.
"You know that he’s the Fated Demon King," the Seer commented.
Xavier’s gaze remained fixed upon the symbol.
"Well now, what would you do with that information?" Xavier asked.
He locked his gaze with the Seer.
She remained silent for several milliseconds.
That silence alone was an answer.
The Seer understood exactly what Xavier was asking.
She knew the sort of man standing in front of her.
Any careless answer could have consequences.
"Good."
Xavier’s expression relaxed slightly.
"Silence is a good answer, good to know that the information would stay silent," Xavier said as he turned to leave.
The Seer watched him.
Then she asked the question that had been occupying her mind since she completed her vision.
"Why do you protect him?"
Xavier stopped.
Slowly, he turned around.
For the first time during the conversation, his expression changed.
His hand reached toward his blindfold.
He lowered it.
One eye opened.
The Seer immediately felt an overwhelming pressure.
BOOM!
Her body was pushed backward.
Her chair shattered beneath her.
She caught herself against the wall, breathing heavily.
Xavier’s exposed eye was unlike anything she had ever seen.
It was multicolored.
Countless shades seemed to exist within his iris, shifting continuously as though an entire universe was contained inside it.
The Seer stared at him.
Fear appeared in her eyes.
Xavier covered his eye again.
"I have already seen the future and it’s not what you’re telling me."
His voice was calm.
"Your visions are limited to fate. The fact that you consider Demons our most dangerous threat shows how naive you are," Xavier stated.
The Seer remained silent.
Xavier looked toward the window.
"Since I’ve been born, there’s been something in this world that always seems to escape my vision."
He paused.
"I’ve always felt watched."
His expression darkened.
"That’s one of the reasons I haven’t destroyed the Demon race."
The Seer frowned.
"Apart from the seven Primordials, they are not much of a threat to me almost light work if they’re to really push me."
Xavier sighed.
"But..."
He turned toward her.
"There is something else."
The Seer swallowed.
Xavier stared at her for several seconds.
"This discussion never happened," he stated.
His body vanished.
The Seer remained frozen.
Several seconds passed before she finally released a breath.
"That was a close one," she muttered.
She slowly looked toward the place where Xavier had been standing.
Her eyes returned to the orb.
The symbol of Demon Royalty was still there.
She stared at it.
"What future have you seen for Kael Draven?" the Seer muttered.
Kael dodged another Shadow Fang.
Its claws sliced through the air beside his face.
He immediately rotated his body.
His normal blade flashed.
SLASH!
The Shadow Fang’s body split apart.
It collapsed without making another sound.
Kael landed lightly.
He didn’t even look at the corpse.
Instead, he immediately spread his Darkness mana outward.
The cave was completely dark.
At this point, Kael could barely see the monsters anymore.
But he no longer needed his eyes.
He closed them.
His mana flowed through his body.
Then he pushed it into the ground.
The Darkness mana spread outward like a thin web.
A faint sensory field formed around him.
Kael’s expression changed.
"There."
He could sense them.
One.
Two.
Five.
Seven.
More.
The creatures were moving through the darkness.
Their physical forms remained hidden, but their presence could no longer escape him.
Kael slowly inhaled.
His breathing became steady.
The sensory field wasn’t particularly large.
Perhaps fifteen meters.
But considering where he had started, it was already a massive improvement.
"Mana Emphasis..."
Kael muttered.
He increased the amount of mana flowing through the sensory field.
His perception sharpened.
Every movement became clearer.
The monsters’ footsteps.
Their breathing.
Their claws touching the stone.
Even the subtle changes in the air around them.
Kael opened his eyes.
"Got you."
His body vanished.
Vanishing Step.
He appeared behind a Shadow Fang that was preparing to attack.
His blade pierced through its neck.
The creature collapsed.
Another Shadow Fang immediately pounced from his blind spot.
Kael ducked beneath its claws.
He reached upward.
His hand grabbed the creature’s face.
The Shadow Fang struggled.
Kael tightened his grip.
"You’ve been giving me a headache for hours."
He slammed it into the ground.
BOOM!
The stone beneath the monster cracked.
The Shadow Fang stopped moving.
Kael released it.
His ear twitched.
More footsteps.
His expression changed.
"How many of you guys are here?" he complained.
The darkness answered with dozens of growls.
Kael sighed.
"Of course."
His grip tightened around his sword.
He entered his stance.
"Fang Form."
Mana surged through his body.
The sensory field expanded.
For a moment, the darkness around Kael seemed to tremble.
Every monster within his range became visible to his senses.
Not their bodies.
Their positions.
Kael could feel them.
Every single one.
Then he disappeared.
One Shadow Fang fell.
Then another.
Then another.
Kael moved through the darkness like a phantom.
Every time one of the monsters attempted to attack him, he was already somewhere else.
His blade flashed repeatedly.
SLASH!
SLASH!
SLASH!
The Shadow Fangs possessed terrifying speed, but their bodies weren’t particularly durable.
Against Kael’s current strength, a clean strike was enough to kill them.
One after another, their bodies collapsed.
Kael continued moving.
His feet barely touched the ground.
He used Vanishing Step repeatedly, combining it with his sensory field.
He didn’t need to look.
He didn’t need to guess.
He simply moved toward every presence within his range.
A Shadow Fang lunged.
Kael stepped aside.
His blade pierced its chest.
Another came from behind.
He twisted.
The blade cut through its throat.
Another attacked from above.
Kael raised his sword.
CLANG!
The claws collided with his blade.
Kael pushed upward.
The monster was thrown into the air.
He immediately vanished.
Appearing above it.
One strike.
Dead.
Kael landed.
His breathing remained steady.
"That’s much easier."
He glanced around.
Dozens of bodies were scattered throughout the cave.
The number of monsters had finally decreased.
Kael lowered his sword.
"Maybe Xavier wasn’t completely insane."
He paused.
"Actually, no."
He shook his head.
"He’s definitely insane."
A sudden growl echoed through the cave.
Kael froze.
His sensory field reacted.
Something had entered his range.
Kael’s expression immediately became serious.
The presence was different.
Bigger.
Heavier.
Stronger.
Kael slowly turned.
His red eyes began glowing.
The Darkness mana surrounding him became denser.
The creature stepped from the darkness.
Kael stared.
It was another Shadow Fang.
But this one was different.
Its body was significantly larger.
Its claws were longer.
Its eyes burned with a strange golden light.
Kael’s sensory field trembled.
His expression became serious.
"This isn’t C-rank."
The creature disappeared.
Kael’s pupils contracted.
It was faster than every Shadow Fang he had fought before.
Much faster.
Kael barely managed to move.
BOOM!
The creature’s claws struck his side.
Kael was sent flying.
His body crashed against the cave wall.
Blood escaped his mouth.
He slowly stood.
The monster was already gone.
Kael’s eyes narrowed.
He spread his Darkness mana again.
The sensory field formed.
But the creature was moving so quickly that even his perception struggled to keep up.
Kael tightened his grip on his blade.
For the first time since entering the dungeon...
He felt genuine danger.
The creature appeared behind him.
Kael turned.
Too late.
A claw swung toward his chest.
Kael’s eyes widened.
"This thing..."
He barely raised his blade.
CLANG!
The impact sent him sliding backward.
His feet dug trenches into the stone.
Kael looked at the creature.
The monster stared back.
Its golden eyes remained fixed on him.
Kael slowly smiled.
"You’re a B-rank, aren’t you?"
