The Wizard's Pursuit of Truth

Chapter 181 131: The Path is Clear, Dual Systems in Parallel

  • Next Chapter

Wang Ya was, after all, different from the Illusory Dream Wizard. The latter's true body existed perpetually in the Dream World, essentially bound to it, like a native creature.

Wang Ya lived in the Dream World, trying to become a native creature, but he ultimately wasn't one. Nor could he ever walk the Wizard Path of an Illusory Dream Wizard.

He had to forge a new path, which led him to think of his abilities in Biological Cultivation.

His greatest strengths were undoubtedly his research into Harak's biological bloodlines and genes, his work with Elemental Particle Energy, and the refinement of Witchcraft.

Everything left a trail; all knowledge was interconnected.

Extraordinary Creatures exist in the real world, and Dream Creatures exist in the Dream World. Perhaps the two are simply reflections of each other, proof from a different angle.

The link between the Dream Realm and reality could never be completely severed.

The Dream Gap is the medium through which a Dream Wizard wields their Power and communicates with the Dream World. Without a Dream Gap, a Dream Wizard's Extraordinary Power cannot affect reality at all.

The Illusory Dream Wizard chose to anchor himself to Maple Forest and Heart Dream Lake, places where his Power could be unleashed to its fullest potential.

Within the territory of the Dark Land, his Power could also be transmitted, remaining just as mysterious and immensely strong.

An ordinary Dream Wizard needs time to generate a Dream Gap. Simply activating their Dream Sense doesn't guarantee an immediate connection to the Dream World.

In a sparsely populated area where the power of the Dream Realm is thin, it might even take a full minute to generate a Dream Gap.

Wang Ya had to compensate for this weakness and find a way for it to complement his Wizard Path as an Elemental Wizard.

Then he had an idea. 'What if I turned Harak into my own medium?'

'A different kind of anchor—one that's mobile.'

'I wouldn't be limited to a single, fixed location like the Illusory Dream Wizard.'

'The connection to the Dream Realm could also be strengthened, solved through Harak's very physical structure.'

Harak's Infinite Core was a composite of countless genetic fragments from Extraordinary Creatures. It contained vast amounts of information—even fragments of the Conscious Souls of those creatures were compressed within it.

Whenever it changed form, it took command of the relevant parts.

'It was as if countless lives were condensed within. If all those lives could dream, wouldn't that be like carrying a corner of the Dream World around with him?'

The more Wang Ya thought about it, the more feasible it seemed. The future potential and transformations of the Infinite Genome could also be developed in this direction.

Gundas' Dog was, in itself, a balance between the illusory and the real.

Extraordinary Spiritual Power, consciousness, and the soul were precisely the illusory aspects.

This might also be the path for Harak's next advancement.

And it was the future direction for his own Dream Wizard Path as well.

He would truly transform Harak into a special Biological Witchcraft Artifact, a Witchcraft Artifact that could perfectly complement and execute his various techniques.

It would be a lengthy project, but it was undoubtedly one worth attempting.

The Eye of Truth predicted the probability of success to be at least seventy percent.

With the direction of his path confirmed, the thoughts in Wang Ya's mind grew clearer. The next step was to fully realize his Dream Wizard Path, just as he had with his Elemental Wizard Path, and create his very own Dream Witchcraft.

Wang Ya even harbored a greater ambition: to leave his own mark on the Dream World, just like the Illusory Dream Wizard.

At the very least, he had to establish an anchor in the Dream World.

He would definitely have to explore the wilds of the Dream World in the future.

To do that, he would have to focus on Dream Power, as the strength of creatures in the Dream World was measured by it.

Currently, Wang Ya had abundant Spiritual Power, but his personal Dream Power had yet to reach a level that corresponded to it.

There were two methods.

One was to eat. The other was also to eat.

Either he could devour Dream Creatures, or he could "eat dirt" by silently infusing the land of the Dream World with his Spiritual Power to absorb Dream Power.

Wang Ya could only choose the former.

The land beneath his feet, after all, was the Illusory Dream Wizard's territory.

Fortunately, he had already started preparing the food half a month ago. The provisions at the manor would be mature in another seven or eight days.

The corners of his mouth lifted, revealing a set of perfectly white teeth.

...

「Within the Antuun Clan Land.」

Kaze Antuun paced restlessly in his room. His movements made the candlelight on the corner of the table flicker unpredictably.

He was deeply unsettled. 'What in the world happened?'

He had sent the message to Wang Ya Harak half a month ago, but to this day, there was still no response to the challenge.

Kaze Antuun couldn't help but overthink it, even suspecting that something had gone awry.

'Could the news that Hades was about to break through have leaked?'

'Did Wang Ya Harak find out beforehand and decide to handle it with silence?'

The gap between a Level 2 Wizard Apprentice and a Level 3 Wizard Apprentice was indeed vast.

Even a newly advanced Level 3 Wizard Apprentice could crush a Level 2 Wizard Apprentice.

This was not an outcome that could be changed just by learning an Inheritance Witchcraft.

'Right now, Wang Ya Harak should still be learning the Extraordinary Knowledge from his inheritance. His Power is probably no different than it was during the Secret Realm competition. That requires a process of accumulation.'

'It would take at least three or four years for his Power to truly transform again.'

'He was probably evenly matched with Hades before the breakthrough, let alone the Hades of today.'

'His choice to remain silent is certainly possible, and it's the smartest one.'

'But that should be impossible. Hades has been in the Wizard's Residence this whole time; no one knows about his breakthrough.'

'Not even the people in our clan know. Not even Zack.'

Kaze Antuun's expression was grim. He had originally intended to keep the information from spreading, but under these circumstances, it seemed he would have to take a risk.

He would have to spread the news far and wide, leveraging the rivalry between the Wizard Family Alliance and the School Lineage.

He had to force Wang Ya Harak to accept the challenge.

'I'll shift the focus to a contest of honor and prestige, downplaying the Black Sun Badge...'

'With more people watching, Wang Ya Harak will have to stop hiding in his shell, unless he's willing to let the prestige of the Illusion Illusory Dream Lineage be tarnished.'

He truly had no other choice.

'I'll have to carefully consider what reason to give.'

'I've got it!'

Kaze Antuun's eyes lit up. It was perfect: Zack had lost to Wang Ya Harak in the Secret Realm and had been despondent ever since his return.

His older brother, Hades, challenged Wang Ya Harak to avenge his younger brother.

'A perfect script! A perfect reason!'

...

Zack Antuun was practicing his Puppetry Witchcraft in the family plaza. Since it had already been exposed, he decided to just practice it openly.

His father had already made his position clear to him: he offered neither support nor opposition.

He also knew the reason why Wang Ya Harak could use Isar Witchcraft.

A fire burned in his heart. 'This loss is only temporary,' he thought. 'So what if he joined an Inheritance Lineage? I'll catch up eventually.'

'And then I will defeat this formidable rival.'

Many others thought the same way—all of them genius newcomers from the Wizard Clans who had been defeated by Wang Ya.

They didn't think they were much weaker than Wang Ya; in the Secret Realm competition, he had merely taken advantage of the environment.

He had used some unknown method to borrow the Power of numerous Extraordinary Creatures.

'When it comes to a true test of Power, who would win and who would lose is still anyone's guess.'

Suddenly, an inexplicable panic seized his heart, and a shiver ran down his spine.

He frowned and looked around... 'Was that just my imagination?'
