Chapter 1574: Chapter 1591: Office’s Restricted Scene 1
Qin Yi viciously kicked the man again. "I’m warning you, be more respectful to Miss Xia from now on," he said through gritted teeth, his voice cold and dark.
President Wang clung to Qin Yi’s leg in agitation, answering him obsequiously in all sorts of ways. Only then did Qin Yi release him, turn around, and follow after the departing figure of Nangong Yaoling.

In the taxi, Xiaonuan’s complexion still hadn’t recovered; her expression was a little dazed, as if she’d just gone through a terrible nightmare.
Casey sat beside her. Just as she was spacing out, a small hand tugged at her hand.
She came back to herself, lowered her head, and saw a pair of eyes full of curiosity and worry.
"Mommy, what’s wrong?" he asked softly, using his other small hand to cradle Xiaonuan’s cheek.
That soft, boneless little hand, warm to the touch, was like a feather, gently soothing her restless heartbeat and tense soul.
For some reason, as Xiaonuan stared at the little person in front of her, she suddenly felt her nose sting and her eyes grow hot, but she ultimately held back her tears. She gently rubbed the little guy’s head, then took the small hand on her cheek in both of hers and brought it to her lips for a kiss.
"Baby, Mommy’s fine. Did you have fun playing by yourself just now?" She lifted Casey’s little hand to her nose and sniffed it. There was a smell like roast beef, and she frowned slightly.
Casey stared at her, smiling as he nodded. "There were lots of fun things there—big cars and Kitty—and an auntie handed out beef jerky to us. She even gave me an extra piece."
Xiaonuan couldn’t help laughing too. No wonder she smelled beef on his hands; turns out the little guy had eaten beef jerky.
"Was the beef jerky tasty?" she asked with a smile.
Unexpectedly, at her words Casey’s little face fell at once.
Xiaonuan hurriedly asked, nervous, "What’s wrong? Was the beef jerky not good? Or are you feeling sick somewhere?"
The little guy lowered his head; his long lashes drooped like little banana fans, and his exquisite little face suddenly scrunched up in gloomy frustration.
He said in a low voice, "It was good... I was going to save a piece for Mommy, but then I heard some kids’ parents say there was a fight outside. When I rushed out to look for Mommy, I accidentally dropped the beef jerky."
Seeing how sad he was, Xiaonuan had thought something serious had happened. Turned out it was just because she hadn’t gotten to taste the delicious beef jerky.
Xiaonuan couldn’t help wanting to laugh, but her eyes grew wet first.
She pulled Casey gently into her arms.
"It’s okay, Casey. It’s enough that Mommy knows you care about her. As long as you’re happy, Mommy is happy."
Casey’s little hands came up too, hugging tightly around Xiaonuan’s neck.
"Mommy, as long as you’re happy, Casey is happy too." Baozi repeated her words next to her ear, saying them with a serious little face.
Xiaonuan nodded; her eyes were brimming with tears, and she was too moved to speak.

In the spacious, bright office.
In front of a white desk sat a man in a white shirt, holding a stack of documents, flipping through them with a blank expression.
Just then, a knock sounded at the door.
"Come in," he said without lifting his head.
An assistant walked in, his face full of excitement. "President Tang, I just got a call. They said there’s news about Miss Qi."
The man raised his head from the documents, asking in some surprise, "Really?"
"Yes. Apparently, some time ago a company in Yali that was collaborating with ours held a mid-year evaluation a week ago, and one of the candidates for planning director was named Qi Yue."
