Chapter 127: Grand Finale

The moment the teacher came over and touched him, Shanshan glared with his wide eyes and yelled, “Go away! I don’t know you! I want my mommy! WAAAH! Mommy, Mommy, hurry and take me home…”

As soon as Shanshan started crying, Xiaobei—who was a total crybaby—followed suit.

“Xiaobei wants Mommy too! Xiaobei wants Mommy too…”

Ever since the brothers arrived at the school, they had been crying every single day. The teacher was completely at a loss.

To help Shanshan and Xiaobei better adjust to school life, the teacher decided to introduce them to a new friend in the class: Xiao Bao. Since Xiao Bao was naturally warm and welcoming, the teacher asked him to invite Shanshan and Xiaobei over to his house to play.

However, Shanshan and Xiaobei were reluctant to go out. No matter what anyone said, they refused to visit Momo’s house.

The teacher spent quite a while talking with the boys’ mother. It was only after they were told that Xiao Bao’s mother was a famous chef who had delicious bear-shaped cookies at home that the two children finally—and tearfully—agreed to visit Xiao Bao’s house.

Hearing that Xiao Bao’s classmates were coming over, Momo baked a batch of fragrant, bear-shaped cookies in advance. Once they arrived at the house, Momo indeed brought out the homemade cookies for Shanshan and Xiaobei to eat.

Shanshan and Xiaobei looked at Momo with timid eyes, refusing to take the treats. The classmates just stared blankly at each other.

Xiao Bao was thrilled to see his two new friends. He took the initiative to grab the cookies and offered them to Shanshan and Xiaobei.

“Bear cookies! They’re super yummy!” Xiao Bao said enthusiastically.

Shanshan and Xiaobei still didn’t take them, only watching Xiao Bao with curious eyes.

Xiao Bao then took a bear cookie for himself and deliberately took a bite right in front of them, acting as if it were the most delicious thing in the world. As he ate, he exaggeratedly chewed, making loud MUNCH MUNCH sounds.

“It’s so good!” Xiao Bao told them while taking big bites.

Even though Shanshan and Xiaobei hadn’t eaten any, they could both smell the sweet aroma of the baked goods. Shanshan, in particular, being the younger of the two, had already started silently sucking on his fingers.

Momo could tell at a glance that the two children were simply shy. They were clearly drooling, but they refused to eat in front of an adult. Naturally understanding their psychology, Momo quietly retreated to her own room. She knew how kids thought. It was best to let them spend some time alone; being around the same age, they shared a common language. She believed that with Xiao Bao’s natural talent for making friends, he would quickly bond with his two new classmates.

Now, only three people were left in the room: Shanshan, Xiaobei, and Xiao Bao.

Xiao Bao continued to “tempt” them with the treats. “It’s really yummy! Do you want a taste?”

Shanshan had a bit of a stubborn streak, but the scent of the cookies was incredibly alluring. Finally, he gulped down a mouthful of saliva, yet firmly shook his head.

Xiao Bao naturally wasn’t going to give up so easily. He turned his attention to tempting Xiaobei.

Xiaobei wasn’t nearly as reserved. Biting his fingers, he noticed that Xiao Bao’s mother, Momo, was no longer around and no one was watching him. Unable to hold back any longer, he asked Xiao Bao, “Is dis bear… bear cookie yummy?”

Xiao Bao bit into a cookie, putting on an exaggerated show. “It’s super yummy! CHOMP—”

Saying so, he leaned over and took another massive bite.

Xiaobei stared with big, dark eyes. Seeing Xiao Bao enjoy it so much made his mouth water terribly. Earlier, with Momo right there, Xiaobei had felt too embarrassed. Now that she was gone, he mustered his courage and said, “I… I wanna try it too.”

Xiao Bao glanced at Xiaobei, noticing that the boy’s drool was about to hit the floor. He generously shared his cookies, pulling a few out from the bag. “This one’s a bear, this one’s a sheep, and this one’s a piggy… Which one do you wanna eat?”

These were the cookies Momo had made inside her spatial dimension using various molds. They came in all sorts of shapes, but they all tasted the exact same.

Xiaobei gave a sheepish smile. “I fink… da bear one is yummy.”

Xiao Bao declared generously, “Then I’ll give you a little bear one!”

He tilted his little head and rummaged through the bag. After searching for quite a while, he finally dug out a bear-shaped cookie.

“There aren’t many bear ones left,” Xiao Bao said, handing the cookie to Xiaobei.

Xiaobei happily took it and carefully took a bite.

Xiao Bao asked with concern, “Is it good?”
