Chapter 354: Chapter 176: 2 Years Tax-Free, 3 Years Halved

After telling the finance director to bring the relevant documents, Chen Mo left the office with him.

They stood on the 22nd floor waiting for an elevator, and the one that arrived was going up.

Soon, the elevator stopped on the 22nd floor.

As the elevator doors slowly opened, Chen Mo saw several people holding microphones and carrying cameras hurry out.

Watching them head straight for the office without a backward glance, Chen Mo couldn’t help but smile and shake his head.

These people were clearly media reporters.

’They’re probably here to interview me. As for the rush, they must want to get the first exclusive interview footage.’

’The media is always scrambling for a scoop these days.’

"President Chen, they are..."

The finance director saw this as well and had a good idea of what they were there for.

After all, he had just noticed the name of the organization written on the microphone one of them was holding.

Modu News.

’That’s a legitimate news outlet, the real deal.’

He couldn’t help but glance at Chen Mo tentatively. ’Will he do the interview or continue on to the tax department?’

’An interview with one of the big players is a rare opportunity.’

"Ignore them. We have PR to handle it."

Chen Mo smiled and walked straight into the elevator.

’The tax department can offer me actual tax breaks.’

’Other than making me a public figure and ruining my peace and quiet, an interview with them doesn’t offer much of an upside.’

As he followed Chen Mo into the elevator, the finance director looked at him with even greater admiration.

’He has such a rare honor, and the authorities are even willing to help him become famous, but the boss just isn’t interested.’

’This must be the composure and discretion of the truly wealthy.’

’My own perspective is still far too limited. I can’t even begin to fathom the boss’s way of thinking.’

They went down to the underground parking garage, got into the company’s business van, and had the driver take them to the tax department.

...

「Panshi Venture Capital.」

The media crew, armed with cameras and microphones, arrived at the reception desk.

"Hello, we’re reporters from Modu News. We heard that the head of your company received an Outstanding Contribution Award, and we’d like to conduct an interview..."

A female reporter holding a microphone politely introduced herself to the receptionist and explained why they were there.

"Huh?"

Hearing this, the receptionist subconsciously glanced toward the elevators.

’Isn’t the man you just ran into by the elevators our boss?’

"Hi, do you have an appointment?"

the receptionist asked politely.

She had heard of Modu News, of course.

"It was a bit of a rush, so we didn’t have time to make an appointment."

The female reporter shook her head. Their editor had only sent them over after seeing the story trending online.

They hadn’t heard a whisper about it beforehand and had no idea it was even happening.

’The department in charge did an incredible job of keeping this under wraps.’

"Let me go ask my supervisor. Please wait here for a moment."

The receptionist said this and then went into the main office to find a supervisor.

As she walked into the office, though, she couldn’t help but feel a surge of admiration for Chen Mo.

’Just last week, people from that government department came by to deliver a certificate and a thank-you letter to Chen Mo.’

’I was the one who received them, but at the time, I had no idea what the certificate and letter were for.’

’Now I finally understand. What they’d delivered was an incredibly prestigious honor.’

’And yet, President Chen was so low-key and composed about it. His perspective and self-control are on another level.’

’No wonder he’s the boss of Panshi Venture Capital at such a young age and has a girlfriend as beautiful as President Xu.’

Soon, the marketing director came out with the receptionist.

"Welcome, friends from Modu News! Please, come on in!"

The moment the marketing director saw them, her face lit up, and she ushered them into a conference room with a beaming smile.

When the receptionist told her that reporters from Modu News were here to interview President Chen, she had been a bit surprised.

She hadn’t expected the media outlet to be one on the level of Modu News.

Now that she had seen them with her own eyes, a huge grin spread across her face.

’An interview with Modu News would be a massive boost to Panshi Venture Capital’s reputation!’

’The boss wants to stay low-key and out of the spotlight, but there’s no reason the company can’t get some publicity.’

"Hello, everyone. I’m the marketing director for Panshi Venture Capital."

"Our boss had to attend to an urgent matter, so he’s unable to be here for the interview personally."

"However, you can direct any questions you have to me. The boss..."

She began to speak with them, following the instructions Chen Mo had given her previously.

"Alright."

The reporter nodded in disappointment upon hearing that Chen Mo wasn’t there.

’Chen Mo isn’t here, but we still have to do the interview.’

The formal interview began shortly after.

The reporters asked a series of questions, which the marketing director answered with practiced ease.

As she responded, she skillfully wove in some promotional points for the company.

For instance, how the boss was a man of high moral character and firm principles.

And therefore, everyone at Panshi Venture Capital, from top to bottom, adhered to the company culture their boss championed.

A culture that was people-centric, with an investment philosophy focused on supporting young entrepreneurs and using capital to foster innovation...

Afterwards, she even gave them a tour of the office, calling on a few pre-arranged employees who acted as plants, gushing about how wonderful the company was.

All in all, the marketing director also handled PR, so dealing with this sort of thing was second nature to her.

In the end, both parties left satisfied.

The marketing director had completed the task her boss had assigned, and she’d managed to promote the company in the process.

The reporters, for their part, had completed the assignment from their editor; the footage they’d shot was more than enough to work with.

They had just seen the Modu News reporters off when another media outlet arrived.

This one just wasn’t as much of a heavy-hitter as Modu News.

But as long as they were there for an interview, she welcomed them all.
