This Doctor Is Too Wealthy
Chapter 1389 - 866: Consuming Yin, Activating Blood, and Nourishing the Heart to Calm the Mind
Plan?
A freaking plan.
Just as a patient who has been treated with my medication, I had no choice but to come for a follow-up visit.
Du Heng chuckled lightly, and like Dean Tian, no longer paid attention to the stubborn patient across the sick bed, instead, he walked back to this patient once again.
And now, no one disturbed him, allowing Du Heng to carefully observe the patient's condition.
But upon close examination, Du Heng found that the patient's external condition seemed no different from yesterday.
Du Heng's gaze froze, lightly wrinkling his nose, he asked, "How many times did you take yesterday's medicine?"
The patient leaned against the bed, appearing slightly stronger than yesterday, but only marginally, his face no longer looking as haggard.
Upon hearing Du Heng's question, the patient replied in the same tone as yesterday, "I followed your advice and drank it three times, all on schedule.
Also, I soaked my feet, using a thermos of hot water until my feet almost peeled."
The attitude of this patient seemed much calmer than the stubborn one nearby, even somewhat indifferent, as if he didn't care to speak.
Du Heng wasn't very concerned about his attitude, he simply proceeded with the regular sequence, asking, "How was your sleep last night?"
The patient slowly raised his head, took a look at Du Heng, then said indifferently, "Same as before, I only slept for a while after 3 AM.
When the nurse came in to check my blood pressure in the morning, I woke up.
Counting the time, it was probably over three hours, similar to the night before."
Du Heng's expression turned serious.
Although after just one day's medication, there wouldn't be any phenomenal changes, there should at least be some improvement.
Du Heng then glanced around at the people who had come in with him, guessing that they might know his treatment wasn't effective and came along to watch him make a fool of himself.
At this point, a young doctor who came in together spoke softly, "Doctor Du, may I say a few words?"
Du Heng heard this and turned to look; he saw the speaker but didn't respond; instead, he turned his gaze to Dean Tian beside him.
Seeing Du Heng's sight, Dean Tian directly said, "Xiao Chai, anything to report?"
The speaking young doctor walked up from behind, courteously speaking to Du Heng and Dean Tian, "Mr. Tian, Doctor Du, I am quite familiar with the patient; may I discuss his actual condition?"
Dean Tian gently hmm-ed, "Sure, go ahead."
Doctor Xiao Chai gently cleared his throat before speaking, "Here's the thing: after the patient took the medication yesterday, I kept observing his reactions.
Initially, he had issues with chest tightness and shortness of breath, but after taking the medicine yesterday, especially in the afternoon, he didn't seem uncomfortable.
He chatted and laughed with his family and even walked around the corridor with them."
Du Heng's expression slightly relaxed.
That's it; my diagnosis and treatment couldn't possibly have no effect at all.
Doctor Xiao Chai continued, "Furthermore, the patient had persistent chest pain issues before.
But after taking Chinese herbal medicine yesterday, I feared he might react negatively if he continued taking other medications, so I temporarily stopped the previous ones.
After stopping them, the patient didn't mention any chest pain throughout yesterday."
After Doctor Xiao Chai finished speaking, Du Heng and Dean Tian both looked towards the patient.
However, the patient furrowed his brows, gently rubbed his chest, and said with a trace of confusion, "Oh, it really doesn't hurt.
I've always felt this chest pain, but it's very mild and has been going for several years now, I'm already used to it.
I was focused on sleeping yesterday; doctor, if you hadn't pointed it out, I wouldn't have noticed it."
As he finished speaking, the patient's tone, unlike the previous indifference, was finally tinged with some delight.
It's effective, that's good; this indicates my diagnosis and treatment direction are correct.
Du Heng breathed a sigh of relief; he thought his skills had regressed and he had treated the patient wrongly.
Just as he was about to collect his thoughts on the patient's sleep issues, Doctor Xiao Chai spoke again, "Additionally, regarding the patient's sleep problems, I want to add something."
Doctor Xiao Chai glanced at the patient and then addressed Du Heng and Dean Tian, "I was on duty last night, as the patient mentioned, while others slept, he was still awake.
But there's something he didn't mention, which is that during the previous three-plus hours of sleep, he was groggy, in a half-sleep state. Any time we entered for a ward round or opened the hospital room door for a morning blood pressure check, he would wake up.
But when I came to the hospital room today at four in the morning, I saw he was sleeping deeply, completely unaware of anyone watching him.
Moreover, in the morning, he only woke up when the working nurses made a slight noise."
This explanation made everyone present aware of one issue, which was the shift from light sleep to deep sleep.
And sleeping soundly already indicates that Du Heng's treatment yesterday was apt.
Du Heng and Dean Tian exchanged a smile, not quite sure what they were smiling about.
Everyone who came in together also grinned.
