This High Martial World is Too Crazy!!!
Chapter 162 - 161: The 10,000-Person Selection
Chapter 162: Chapter 161: The 10,000-Person Selection
BOOM—BOOM—BOOM—
In the courtyard of Prince Qing’s Manor, a series of thunderous booms echoed as Fang Can’s body was repeatedly slammed against the walls.
Gently spitting out some shredded internal organs, Fang Can wiped the blood trickling from the corner of his mouth.
’What a monster,’ Old Yang thought, observing the unfazed young man.
Even though he had watched the entire fight between Fang Can and Wang Peng, this direct encounter still left him shaken.
Once their physical attributes were suppressed to the same level, he couldn’t gain any advantage, even with the insight of a Third Turn Martial Artist.
The young man before him had completely transformed his body into a weapon, utilizing techniques that defied human anatomy—moves that even he couldn’t replicate.
What was even more terrifying was that while a technique or move might be novel enough to work once, it would be ineffective on the second try.
His own moves were either countered or copied. The only way to suppress him was through sheer statistical superiority.
Unlimited stamina, proportional auto-healing, and the ability to read, copy, and see through skills. He had no weaknesses or openings. Besides overwhelming him with raw stats, there was no way to win.
If a game boss like this were ever designed, the players would curse the developers into oblivion.
And that was precisely the kind of monster standing before the old man.
"Let’s continue," Fang Can said seriously. The old man before him was the strongest opponent he had ever faced.
"I feel that relying on pure technique is getting a bit monotonous. I’m going to start using my True Essence now," Old Yang said with a smile.
After realizing that wielding twice Fang Can’s strength carried the risk of the tables being turned, he decided to resort to some unconventional tactics.
Fang Can had no objection. "Fine by me."
The moment he finished speaking, his vision blurred. An overwhelming torrent of palm phantoms, glowing with golden light, swept toward him.
Each palm strike possessed immense power, and the True Qi contained within would invade Fang Can’s vital points. The more he fought back, the weaker his body became.
Instead of dodging, Fang Can charged forward to meet the attack, locking them in a chaotic melee.
’Doesn’t he ever learn? He knows I have techniques for striking acupoints, yet he still dares to clash with me so recklessly.’ Old Yang was puzzled. ’Fine. I’ll just have to teach him a lesson.’
As they clashed, the center of their battle transformed into a storm, with each collision sending out waves of white energy.
After the modifications of the past few days, Fang Can could now consistently reach the speed of sound.
Now, as they wrestled for dominance, it was as if two hydraulic presses were colliding and crushing each other.
Fang Can quickly fell to a disadvantage in this confrontation. After just a dozen breaths, he was struck in the chest by an arm that moved like a great dragon’s right claw.
With a series of sickening CRACKS as bones shattered, Fang Can was sent flying once again.
But the old man was even more stunned. Watching Fang Can get back up, he asked, "My acupoint-sealing technique... why didn’t it work?"
"Oh, you mean that acupoint technique of yours? The one based on what *you* think my acupoints are?"
Fang Can used his muscles to snap the broken rib bones in his chest back into place, then grinned. "I’ve already relocated all of my acupoints."
"Nonsense! You don’t even have acupoints! How can you move something that doesn’t exist?" The old man grew agitated. A technique he had used for over four hundred years had suddenly been broken, and he found it impossible to believe.
After all, the so-called acupoints were just what he assumed them to be. Fang Can’s cultivation system was different from his own, so what was there to relocate?
"Oh, it’s quite simple," Fang Can replied. With a gentle tug, he tore open his own chest, revealing his insides to the old man.
As the old man watched, gasping in shock, he saw that the five major organs inside Fang Can’s body had been completely rearranged.
Where his heart should have been, there was now a pale, pinkish-white brain. His lungs had been replaced by two kidneys sitting side-by-side, and his heart had taken the place of his small intestine.
"Your so-called acupoint-striking method is based on projecting the acupoints of your own body onto mine, isn’t it?"
Fang Can smiled. "So, during our fight just now, I went ahead and rearranged all my skin, muscles, bones, and internal organs."
"Now you don’t even know what part of me you’re hitting. How are you supposed to strike my acupoints?"
As he spoke, as if for demonstration, Old Yang watched as the various organs inside Fang Can’s chest began to rotate, constantly swapping positions.
"If you can still hit my acupoints under these conditions, then I’ll admit I’m not good enough."
With that, Fang Can zipped his chest closed with a gentle tug, just like pulling up the zipper on a jacket.
Without Fang Can actively displaying them, Old Yang now had no idea how his opponent’s organs were arranged.
"You kid... you really are a... monster," Old Yang said, his voice filled with genuine awe.
"You praise me too much. Compared to a Third Turn expert like you, I’m still just a rookie."
Fang Can returned the compliment, though his entire body was throbbing with a dull pain. It would take at least ten minutes or so to recover.
"Again," Fang Can urged, not waiting for his injuries to heal. "Time is tight. Let’s finish this quickly."
"You kid, you really have no consideration for an old man," the elder chuckled, finding that he rather liked the boy’s attitude.
After a brief exchange, their bodies erupted into motion, and they were once again locked in combat.
Meanwhile, outside Fang Can’s residence, Ye Yonglie wiped a bead of cold sweat from his brow as he stared at the sea of women flooding the street.
Before him was a veritable mountain, an ocean of women.
Stretching as far as the eye could see, a crowd of at least ten thousand women came into view all at once.
The most terrifying part was that this was after the first preliminary round of selections. Every woman here was quite beautiful—at least one-in-a-hundred quality—and yet there were still so many.
’It seems I underestimated a god’s reputation...’ Ye Yonglie muttered to himself.
According to their original estimates, they would have been lucky to have a thousand people left after the preliminary round.
After all, the Hidden Dragon Roll only recorded Fang Can’s deeds. It had no description of his height, build, or appearance.
Normally, people wouldn’t be this fanatical over someone they’d never met, no matter how astonishing their achievements were.
But Ye Yonglie had miscalculated Fang Can’s true value.
The time, place, and people had all aligned perfectly.
First, they were in the Great Derivation Imperial Capital, a gathering place for the nation’s elite.
Furthermore, it was currently the time of the All-Kingdoms Grand Tournament, so Martial Artists from all over the country had flocked here.
On top of that, Fang Can’s status on the Hidden Dragon Roll, combined with Ye Qingshi’s inexplicable rise to second place on the Ascended Dragon Roll, had made people suspicious.
All these coincidences had converged to create such a massive turnout for the selection.
"Whatever. The more people who show up, the larger our final selection will be," Ye Yonglie said with a wave of his hand. "Have the judges continue. Pick out the best Divine Maidens within three days."
"Yes, sir!" came the reply from the dozens of attendant palace maids he had hired, their faces long.
"I appreciate your hard work. After these three days, I will be sure to reward you all handsomely."
At these words, the attendant palace maids’ faces finally lit up with smiles. They turned and walked back toward the crowd of applicants.
