Chapter 199: Chapter 197: Like a Demon Lord Descending from the Heavens

Xiang Longtao had been driven insane by Fang Can.

Watching the scene unfold on Fangcun Mountain, all the Martial Artists were stunned.

But Fang Can couldn’t be bothered with them. Xiang Longtao’s little episode had already caused too much of a delay.

Xiang Longtao looked at the enemy before him and opened his mouth to speak, but in the next instant, his body burst apart.

Fang Can withdrew his fist, glanced at the splattered remains, and fixed his gaze on the other Martial Artists. His tone was icy as he spoke:

"There’s been too much pointless chatter. Now, are you all ready to die?"

During that brief delay, Fang Can had finished forcibly compressing his five-meter-tall body down to one-point-eight meters.

Like a spring compressed to its absolute limit, Fang Can could feel his body had been forcibly pieced together. He knew a single moment of laxity could cause him to fly apart.

But it was precisely this extreme compression that also gave Fang Can’s Defense Power a massive boost.

In his previous fights, Fang Can had been holding back, afraid that exerting too much force would cause his muscles to disintegrate.

Every movement had been a tremendous burden on his body, and the bones and muscles of his right arm—the one he punched with most—had long since become twisted.

Now that his body was compressed, however, Fang Can could finally let loose and use his current power to face his enemies.

Seeing that Fang Can had now fully entered a combat state, the Martial Artists instinctively took half a step back, their eyes filled with vigilance.

He who adapts to the circumstances is a man of wisdom. They knew full well that the man before them was invincible, so the most important thing now was simply to survive.

Outlast the other Martial Artists and sneak into the top five.

That was why, back when Xiang Longtao was having his fit, more than half of the Martial Artists had already slipped away, scattering to every corner of Fangcun Mountain.

From within a thicket, a Martial Artist stared intently ahead, his eyes filled with alarm:

’All I have to do is play hide-and-seek, and I’ll be able to...’

WHOOSH—

As if by teleportation, with no warning at all, Fang Can appeared before him in an explosive burst of power, and his right fist came smashing down on the ground.

To the purple-eyed girl sitting at the lake’s center, the scene seemed to materialize in an instant.

A violent storm of force erupted, creating a massive crater dozens of meters across. Everything in its path, be it grass, trees, bamboo, stone, or the bodies of Martial Artists, was blasted into dust.

If Fang Can’s previous fights were just him messing around, this scene of him at full power was like the descent of a demon god.

The sun was blotted out by the rising dust cloud, and Fang Can’s body flickered like a phantom, appearing all across the battlefield.

Their movements were far, far too slow compared to Fang Can’s.

Before they could even take a few steps, a figure like the Grim Reaper would appear to swing its scythe at them.

Trying to play hide-and-seek? Trying to be the last one standing?

At this moment, Fang Can was using his absolute power to send a message to every Martial Artist present.

Their survival was not up to them.

It was decided by the will of Fang Can!

Whoever he wanted to die...

...would not live!

The area on Fangcun Mountain, which had shrunk continuously over three days to a mere hundred-li radius, was like a giant octagonal cage, confining all the Martial Artists within.

It left these people with no path to the heavens and no gate to the earth.

BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM!!!!

Within the hundred-li area, a series of sounds rang out like miniature nuclear explosions.

Fang Can blitzed across nearly every inch of the land at incredible speed.

In the sky, on the ground, underground, in the water...

Fang Can had gone completely wild, his steps approaching ten times the speed of sound, too fast for the naked eye to perceive.

Even Fang Can’s own consciousness couldn’t control his body’s trans-limit speed at full power.

He could only vaguely sense that there seemed to be an enemy in a certain direction, then charge forward and try to throw a punch.

It was a crude method, but when his physical attributes were two orders of magnitude—almost a hundred times—greater than anyone else present, brute force was enough to work miracles.

There was no fine control, only the purest catharsis of overwhelming power making anything fly.

Under this pure destructive force, even Fang Can’s forcibly compressed body couldn’t take the strain and began to crack, showing faint signs of collapsing.

But it didn’t matter. Before his body gave out, he had enough time to kill these four hundred Martial Artists more than ten times over.

Amidst the ear-piercing sonic booms created by Fang Can’s body tearing through the air and the thunderous bombardment of his fists and feet shattering the earth, the screams of the Martial Artists could be heard.

Dozens of Martial Artists were being eliminated every second. Having completely let loose, Fang Can was demonstrating his martial might to the various nations.

Faced with this string of what sounded like nuclear detonations, the watching nations fell silent.

At the ruins of what was once the shore of Lotus Heart Lake, a vast volume of lake water was blasted into the sky by the storm of concussive force.

The water and dust merged, forming what looked like a solid sheet of earth that blotted out the sky.

The commoners watching the battle felt dizzy, as if drunk. The whole world seemed to be turning upside down.

The earth was above their heads, while the surging lake water below looked like a black night sky.

Truly, it was a scene of:

By Lotus Heart Lake, a furious wind now blows; for ten thousand li, dark clouds eclipse the sun.

Like a demon lord descending from the heavens; a true god of calamity walks among men!

...

The entire process lasted a full minute before the roaring suddenly stopped.

With a THUD, Fang Can once again stood firm on the ground.

He was surrounded by mud that had fallen after mixing with water, but Fang Can seemed not to notice. He looked to the sky and shouted:

"Everyone should be pretty much dead by now. Time to end the competition, isn’t it?"

"Or perhaps..." Fang Can pointed to the untouched girl at the center of the lake. "Do you want to wait until she and I have fought to the death before you make a decision?"

’What is he saying? Doesn’t he know how to cherish a fair lady? And to think I even promised to write a poem for him before.’

Snapping out of her shock, Xiang Ziyu glared at Fang Can with puffed-out cheeks. However, she didn’t dare speak up, worried Fang Can might actually kill her to prove his commitment to the martial path.

And as his words took effect, Fang Can felt the entire world begin to collapse.

Everything around him began to dissolve into nothingness. An ethereal sensation washed over him, and by the time Fang Can came to his senses again, he had arrived in a vast and majestic hall.

Before him, Luo Yanmo was chanting a Buddhist name as he walked forward:

"Amitabha. Congratulations, Donor Fang, on achieving first place among the nations."

As he spoke, Fang Can was able to sense the suppressed emotions in the monk’s heart through the third Realm of his Telepathy.

"Master Luo, where is this?" Fang Can asked with curiosity.

"This is still within Fangcun Mountain." Luo Yanmo said, pointing. "Ahead, inside the Heaven-and-Earth Jade Box, is the prize for your first-place victory, Donor Fang. You need only open it."

Following his gesture, Fang Can saw a translucent jade box carved with cloud and dragon patterns resting upon an incense table in the center of the grand hall.

Striding over, Fang Can reached out and gently opened the jade box. A stream of pure light shot out from within and went straight into the space between his eyebrows.

Before he could even react, Luo Yanmo’s voice came from behind. "Donor Fang, is it necessary to record your image in the Shadow God Diagram?"

"The Shadow God Diagram?" Fang Can asked, turning back in surprise.
