Chapter 208: Chapter 206: Testing Abilities and Inserting the Device

"The Forbidden Word Skill and an AT Field?"

Liu Qingmeng leaned against the doorframe with her arms crossed. She wore an elegant, cloud-blue dress, and her icy-blue hair was gently pinned up with a simple jade hairpin, lending her an unadorned, natural beauty.

Meeting the elder’s gaze, which was as clear and cool as a placid pool, Fang Can pushed down his embarrassment and said with complete certainty:

"That’s right. The Forbidden Word Skill grants me powerful physical attributes by disabling superfluous abilities. As for the AT Field, it can lift objects out of thin air."

It *was* an AT Field. No matter who said otherwise, Fang Can was calling this thing an AT Field.

After a moment of thought, Liu Qingmeng had a rough idea of what these two abilities did just from their names.

After all, while she hadn’t caught up on anime or played any games before she transmigrated, she still had some concept of the two terms.

However, the names and a written description alone were far too vague, so...

"In that case, please give me a demonstration. Start with the AT Field. Use it on me," Liu Qingmeng said.

She was also curious to see the effects of the power Fang Can had obtained by breaking through to the First Turn, especially given his foundation at the Profound Gate Tenth Layer.

’Uh...’ Fang Can’s expression immediately stiffened.

"Is there a problem?" Liu Qingmeng frowned. "Don’t worry about my status. I’m at the Fourth Turn; you can’t hurt me."

"And with my guidance, you should be able to familiarize yourself with your new power much faster."

Looking at the completely oblivious, aloof woman, Fang Can’s mind reeled.

’I’m not worried about your status, I’m worried about your gender, Elder Liu! Who knows what this AT Field really does? What if you catch Rick Five too?’

"A demonstration? Of course, no problem," Fang Can said, forcing a relaxed tone. He then began to slowly mobilize the strange energy within his body.

Just like when he summoned his Heart Image, using this energy felt as natural as moving a sixth limb.

He soon felt a peculiar magnetic force emanate from his body and gather around his right arm.

"First, telekinesis."

Fang Can reached out toward the distance. Soon, channeled by the magnetic field, a vase floated into the air. 𝑓𝑟ℯℴ𝓂

Then, as Fang Can applied more force, the entire vase began to crack before evenly crumbling into dust.

As he did this, the force field also lifted Fang Can’s body, letting him float three feet off the ground. "Flight."

’So far, so good. No problems yet,’ Fang Can thought, breathing a sigh of relief. He then slowly explained:

"The force field’s strength is about one-fifth of my raw muscle power, which is around a thousand tons."

"The field’s maximum range is a sphere with a three-meter diameter, but I can change its shape to reach farther."

"Within the field’s range, I can move objects remotely, fly, and absorb impacts."

As the thought occurred to him, Fang Can condensed the field into armor, forming an invisible barrier over his body.

"When I focus on containing it, I can form armor over my body. It can absorb a thousand tons of force from each impact. Any physical attack below that strength can’t even touch me."

As Fang Can calmly ran his tests, Liu Qingmeng’s brow furrowed slightly. "It’s a decent ability, but didn’t I tell you to use it on me? Why are you messing with that vase?"

"Direct the force at me," Liu Qingmeng reminded him.

"Um, actually, this ability is a little... uncontrollable," Fang Can finally admitted, losing his nerve.

"Uncontrollable?" A flicker of confusion, almost imperceptible, crossed Liu Qingmeng’s cool expression. "That’s exactly why you should use it on me. You’ve only just broken through, so you’re not yet familiar with this power."

"Well, the thing is, when I was creating this ability, my mind wandered for a second—I swear it was an accident—and now the ability works in a way I didn’t expect."

Fang Can explained earnestly, determined not to give up on clearing the air and doing his best to describe the awkward situation.

After all, if something went wrong, it couldn’t be brushed off as a simple misunderstanding. He had to explain all the potential outcomes beforehand.

"Your mind wandered... What were you thinking about?" Liu Qingmeng pressed. This sort of thing had happened before, so she wasn’t entirely unfamiliar with the concept.

"Well... I’ve been getting, uh, drained a lot more recently, so I was just wondering if this AT Field could solve that problem," Fang Can stammered, feeling like he was dying of social embarrassment.

"So, you’re worried that if you touch me with this field, I’ll become like those other women and be unable to leave you."

A confident, unconcerned smile touched Liu Qingmeng’s lips. "I’m at the Fourth Turn."

"Besides, do you think the Light of the Heart is some kind of wish-granting machine? You can’t make a wish that’s far beyond your power without paying a corresponding price."

"How could a mere force field possibly solve your problem? Unless it could stop time within its range, which is completely outside the realm of what a First Turn can achieve."

"Therefore, your wish was undoubtedly invalid. So go on, Fang Can. Cover me with your field," Liu Qingmeng said confidently, looking at him as if he were a naive boy who overestimated himself.

’An invalid wish, huh...’ Looking at the field’s name, which had changed from T to V, Fang Can knew this was definitely not an invalid wish. On the contrary, it had succeeded. He just wasn’t sure *how* it had succeeded.

But since Liu Qingmeng had put it that way, Fang Can began to think he was making a mountain out of a molehill. She was at the Fourth Turn, after all. He really was getting ahead of himself.

’Besides, you’re the one who agreed to it, and I explained the circumstances in advance. Even if something does happen, it can’t be blamed on me.’

Fang Can took a deep breath. "Elder Liu, I’m doing it."

With Liu Qingmeng’s approval, Fang Can’s field trembled as it spread to envelop her, but he immediately felt an energy barrier.

Fang Can knew this was the Spiritual Power from the young woman’s Heart Image, which had solidified from its illusory state. With this Spiritual Power in the way, he couldn’t exert force from within her body to attack.

Against Martial Artists below the Heaven-Ascending Road, however, Fang Can’s power could completely envelop their entire bodies.

With just a little force, he could turn their heads into mush.

Feeling the AT Field being blocked by her Spiritual Power, Liu Qingmeng raised an eyebrow, clearly thinking Fang Can had been making a fuss over nothing.

Just then, Fang Can’s quiet voice drifted over. "Elder Liu, it seems my field has a second mode. Are you sure you want to continue testing?"

"I told you not to be so hesitant. I am at the Fourth Turn," Liu Qingmeng said sternly, thinking Fang Can was being far too indecisive.

The next moment, as the thought formed in his mind, a voice rang out in Liu Qingmeng’s head: "Accessible device detected within signal range. Initiate connection?"

’Is that Fang Can’s voice? Is this the second mode of his AT Field?’ Liu Qingmeng wondered subconsciously. Then, filled with curiosity, she mentally accepted the connection.

’Let’s just see how this "connection" works,’ Liu Qingmeng thought.
