This High Martial World is Too Crazy!!!
Chapter 221 - 219: Moving Mountains and Filling Seas
Chapter 221: Chapter 219: Moving Mountains and Filling Seas
He held a transparent Blood Crystal in his hand, compressed from the last remnants of Xiang Yinchen’s blood.
Fang Can hadn’t gone for the kill. Instead, he found Xiang Yinchen’s ability rather interesting.
’After all, it’s a Second Turn ability. Infinite regeneration and all that... it seems to have great research value.’
"Young Hero Fang, let’s talk about this calmly. We can try to reconcile."
Clasped in Fang Can’s hand, Xiang Yinchen’s tone instantly became incredibly gentle.
He’d never imagined that he, a veteran Second Turn who’d lived for a thousand years, could be upended by a mere First Turn. ’If I’d known this would happen, I would’ve just backed down immediately.’
Fang Can said coolly, "Don’t sicken me with that nonsensical talk. One more word and I’ll kill you."
At the threat, Xiang Yinchen’s consciousness let out an awkward laugh and wisely decided to shut up.
"That’s insane, Hajican. This level of destructive power is nearly on par with a Continent Level esper, and you’ve only just reached the First Turn."
The Troll King’s figure suddenly appeared beside them as he voiced his awe.
The area around them was nothing but rubble, as if it had been hit by a missile strike. Thankfully, the other Martial Artists had seen which way the wind was blowing and fled, or the shockwaves would have killed a great many of them.
"It wasn’t that simple. I paid a heavy price to do it," Fang Can said, looking down at the bands on his wrists and ankles.
Set against his fair skin, the rings formed by the Forbidden Word Skill pulsed with an eerie black light, their surfaces intricately detailed with countless characters.
Some of the characters were impossibly complex, but others Fang Can could read.
The characters he could read recorded every Cultivation Technique he had sealed; they were, in essence, an index of his entire martial arts arsenal.
As for the abstract characters he couldn’t decipher, they appeared to be manifestations of his strength, physique, and vitality.
Although he had defeated Xiang Yinchen, Fang Can couldn’t deactivate the Forbidden Word Skill. It had a cooldown period.
He would need a cooldown of at least two hours before he could unseal the concepts he’d suppressed.
During this time, Fang Can would be stuck in the high-risk state of 0 defense and 1 HP. He had no choice but to keep a force field active, because a single graze would mean instant death.
RUMBLE—RUMBLE—
As Fang Can and the Troll King were talking, the entire land began to shudder, and a series of muffled rumbles echoed from beneath their feet.
A moment later, a faint gust of wind swept by as the entire city began to lift into the air and fly off into the distance.
Apparently, now that Fang Can’s battle was over, Superman F had taken action, lifting the entire city—a billion tons of buildings and earth—and carrying it away.
Compared to the city itself, Superman F looked as small as an ant below, yet he was performing a Herculean task.
But the bulging veins on his arms showed that even with the God-kin’s help, moving the city was no small feat.
’F-Fourth Turn?’
Staring at the floating city, Xiang Yinchen’s eyes were wide with utter shock.
’This kind of power—moving mountains and filling seas—was definitely beyond the scope of a Third Turn. In theory, only a Fourth Turn could manage such a feat.’
’Looking at the nonchalant expressions on Fang Can and the Troll King, his mind raced, and he was filled with so much regret he wanted to slap himself.’
’I’ve laid low for so many years, so why did I have to lose my cool and pick a fight now?’
"Superman F and the God-kin are moving the city. Let’s go manage the civilians," Fang Can said, looking at the Troll King, who shook his head and stopped him.
"Too much trouble. Let me see what abilities I can borrow."
The Troll King frowned in thought for a moment, then abruptly shot a finger into the air. "Aha! I choose you, King of Willpower!"
Before the words even left his mouth, a terrifying wave of Mental Power began to spread across the entire city.
Instantly, the minds of everyone in the city were linked, and a steady voice echoed in their thoughts:
’People of the city, please, raise your hands and lend me your energy!’
"Do you really have to do a Dragon Ball bit right now?"
Fang Can said, looking completely exasperated, "Give me control of the link. I’ll handle the talking."
"Tsk. Full points for getting the reference, but zero points for not playing along." The Troll King looked disappointed as he transferred control of the mental link to Fang Can.
"To everyone in Yangyan City, this is Fang Can of the Great Derivation. Your City Lord, Xiang Yinchen, has been beheaded. It would be in your best interest to cooperate. Anyone who resists will be executed on the spot..."
Fang Can’s voice echoed in the minds of everyone in the city.
He then transmitted basic information, like the concept of translocation, into their minds, causing a minor panic.
But few dared to act out. After all, most of the Martial Artists were well aware of the vast power gap between themselves and a Martial Artist from the Heaven-Ascending Road. With their City Lord dead, resistance was futile.
After taking some time to get Yangyan City under control, Fang Can tossed the Blood Crystal to the Troll King and turned to leave.
"Oh right, Boss Ji Lao just said that the two of us should find some time to see him later," the Troll King said, scratching his head.
"Hm? Is there something else we need to do?"
"We just need to get familiar with each other’s abilities. Aren’t we all going to the Great Derivation together soon?"
Fang Can nodded seriously. He wasn’t familiar with the abilities of many of the espers. "Then what is Ji Lao’s... ahem, Boss Ji Lao’s ability?"
"Lao Da’s ability is [Wealth Commands the Gods]."
The Troll King wasn’t trying to hide anything from Fang Can, but with Xiang Yinchen still in his hand, he kept his explanation vague. "You’ll see for yourself when you meet Lao Da."
While the two were talking, there was a final, deafening RUMBLE.
After a dozen or so minutes of transport, the entire city had been set down in a basin hundreds of kilometers away.
Watching the rapidly disappearing backs of the forced laborers in the distance, the Troll King scratched his head. "Finally done. We can leave security to the others and just bounce."
"Hey, Hajican! Wanna come check out my research base?" the Troll King said, suddenly turning his head.
"Research base?"
"Yeah! Let me show you my Infinite Protagonist Project," the Troll King said, his eyes wide with excitement. "After just two months of development, my Tang San group is almost ready to achieve their First Turn."
"Infinite Protagonist Project? What’s that?" Fang Can asked.
The Troll King had mentioned it the last time they met, but he hadn’t gone into detail.
"AHAHAHA! It’s a grand project of my own design, approved by Boss Ji Lao himself! The potential is infinite!"
The Troll King chuckled smugly, spreading his arms wide. "Come to the base with me. Once you see it, you’ll get it. I promise, it’ll blow your mind."
"Eh, to be honest, I’m not interested at all," Fang Can said flatly.
But the Troll King was like a little kid desperate to show off a cool new toy to a friend. "Whoa, don’t be like that! It’s seriously incredible! You’ll see when you get there!"
’Is this guy a child?’ Fang Can thought, exasperated. But he could only give a slight nod in agreement.
