This High Martial World is Too Crazy!!!
Chapter 353 - 349: Achilles’ Heel
Chapter 353: Chapter 349: Achilles’ Heel
"It’s been a while."
Reunited after a long separation, Fang Can greeted him. "How’s Boss Ji?"
"The boss is in bad shape. He’s dying."
Hearing Fang Can mention Ji Donglai, the King of Trolls’ voice grew somber, and he lost all urge to pull any of his usual gags.
After the King of Trolls’ confirmation, the calm Fang Can had just found vanished, replaced by a surge of fury. ’To think it’s gotten this bad.’
Suppressing the urge to kill, he clenched his fists and said quietly, "Tell me what happened."
"That Fifth Turn expert came prepared. After learning Boss Ji could teleport, he colluded with another Fourth Turn to forcefully lock onto the boss’s position."
"Because his position was locked, every time the boss teleported, he was forcibly dragged back, leaving him no choice but to fight that Fifth Turn to the death."
"That Fifth Turn dealt at least a hundred trillion in damage per second. It only took a few seconds to drain the boss’s reserves and put him into debt."
"It all happened too fast. As a last resort, the boss planned to spend his entire 4.5 trillion in savings at once to heavily wound the Fifth Turn and then retreat."
"But after spending 4.4 trillion, he found he couldn’t inflict any damage on the Fifth Turn at all."
"Left with no choice, the boss took out a massive loan, going 6 quadrillion into debt to try and take the Fifth Turn down with him, but he still couldn’t even scratch him."
"In the end, he used the shockwave from his attack to kill the Fourth Turn who was maintaining the spatial lock. The boss got us away, but the massive debt he’d incurred caused him to fall into a coma."
"If the debt isn’t paid off within a year, his own superpower will kill him." The King of Trolls finished his explanation.
Fang Can’s brow furrowed. The King of Trolls’ account was flat, but he understood the extreme danger involved. "What’s that Fifth Turn’s inheritance?"
"Later, when the various nations were holding banquets for that Fifth Turn, I secretly used my ’Freak Identification’ skill on him from a distance."
The King of Trolls sighed helplessly as he spoke. There was a three-second delay when he borrowed the superpower of someone not from this world, and things had happened too quickly for him to activate it back then.
Recalling the Fifth Turn’s inheritance, the King of Trolls explained, "That Fifth Turn’s inheritance is ’Achilles’ Heel.’"
Hearing this, Fang Can recalled the myth.
Achilles, whose body had been dipped in the waters of the Nether River, could not be harmed.
However, the heel by which he was held—the one part not submerged in the river—became his fatal weakness. In the end, he was killed by a poisoned arrow to his ankle.
This one vulnerable spot became known as the "Achilles’ heel."
"The ability of that inheritance is that his body can only be harmed by a longsword stained with blood. He’s immune to all other attacks."
As the King of Trolls explained, Fang Can’s brow tightened. He now understood why Ji Donglai had been unable to hurt him.
"After the other superpowered individuals were sent back to the New Country, they had me come back and wait for you. After all, they figured you could find me even if I hid in the Endless Sea."
"So how is the New Country now?" Fang Can asked.
"After the boss fell into a coma, the other two nations started testing the waters, and some factions inside the New Country started causing trouble."
"So you need to hide for now." The King of Trolls looked at Fang Can seriously.
"With Boss Ji in a coma, neither Great Derivation nor the New Country is safe. You should lay low, master your skills, and then come back to get revenge for us."
Fang Can immediately shook his head at the King of Trolls’ suggestion. "That won’t be necessary!"
"Not necessary? Hajican, don’t be reckless!" the King of Trolls said anxiously. "Hey, you’re our last hope!"
"King of Trolls, you’ve changed. A little setback is all it takes to make you scared? What happened to your resolve to troll an entire country?"
"They say you should look at someone with new eyes after just three days apart. Do you think I’m the same person I was a month ago?"
As he spoke, Fang Can tried to give a bright smile, but all that appeared on his face was a vicious grin overflowing with Evil Qi.
His words finally snapped the King of Trolls out of it. Staring at Fang Can’s appearance and demeanor, he asked, "Just how strong are you now?"
"In terms of raw power... I’d say no one below the Fifth Turn can touch me."
"Fifth Turn!" The King of Trolls’ eyes widened. "How long were you in that Sixth Turn secret realm?"
Fang Can didn’t answer. Instead, he smiled and extended his right arm to the King of Trolls. "I haven’t returned to the New Country yet anyway. I’m planning to make some big moves in the meantime. You in?"
Big moves?
Gazing at Fang Can’s outstretched arm, the King of Trolls didn’t hesitate, gripping it firmly. "Causing trouble, are we? You have to count me in!"
"Excellent." The vicious grin remained on Fang Can’s face. "Are the original Martial Artists still around?"
"You mean the mind-controlled Martial Artists?" The King of Trolls paused for a second. "Of course. We buried them all. What are you planning?"
"They’re going to be our startup capital, of course!"
...
At the ruins of the Heavenly Refining Sect, Fourth Turn Martial Artists gathered, arriving one after another.
’They notified this many people?’ The new Emperor of Chu was the last to arrive. He surveyed the scene: a total of eleven Fourth Turn experts, men and women in varying attire.
To be honest, after witnessing a dozen Fourth Turn experts get completely wiped out during a meeting a few months ago, he’d developed a bit of a trauma about such gatherings.
"Emperor of Zhou, you’ve gathered us here. It’s time you told us what’s going on. Who destroyed the Heavenly Refining Sect?"
The Emperor of Chu looked down at the ruins of the Heavenly Refining Sect beneath his feet. The level of destruction was clearly the work of someone at least at the peak of the Fourth Turn.
"It was Fang Can!" A hoarse voice spoke up from a man beside the Emperor of Zhou.
As the assembled Fourth Turn experts turned to look, their brows furrowed instinctively.
The man’s left side was perfectly normal.
But his right cheek, and even his neck, were horribly scorched, as if by intense fire. One could even see his stark white teeth through the burned-away flesh of his face. He looked like a demon straight out of hell.
"Fang Can did this to me," the man said, his voice filled with indignation and venom.
"I saw it with my own eyes. He leveled the entire Heavenly Refining Sect with a single strike and declared that he would destroy every one of us next."
"Fang Can?"
The name was unexpected. All the Fourth Turn experts present raised an eyebrow. ’Wasn’t he only on par with a Third Turn during the last livestream?’
"That’s right. The omens have been read," the Emperor of Zhou said gravely. "Everyone, if we don’t take this seriously, our nations could very well be next to fall."
"Because just a moment ago, my Priest divined a turbulent future for the nations of the Martial World. The one who will bring us ruin and destruction is none other than this man, Fang Can."
"He’s here to avenge the superpowered individuals who were defeated by the Fifth Turn!"
