This High Martial World is Too Crazy!!!
Chapter 71: Nailong and the Reincarnation Squad
Chapter 71: Chapter 71: Nailong and the Reincarnation Squad
Ignoring the thunder that roared and rumbled across the sky, the base below had already descended into chaos.
Researchers hastily abandoned their projects and prepared to flee as one Tang San clone after another appeared.
These clones were now gathered together, each staring in disbelief at the others who looked exactly like them.
"I’m the real Tang San! You’re all fakes."
With that shout, another Tang San, identical to the rest, walked out of a doorway.
"Hmph, if you say you’re Tang San, then where is the Sea God’s Trident you just obtained?" one Tang San sneered.
"The trident disappeared when I was summoned from the Otherworld."
"Same here. After I was reincarnated, there was no way to bring the trident with me."
"Then do you know Controlling Crane and Capturing Dragon? The real Tang San knows the Profound Celestial Skill."
"Of course I do! Watch me, Controlling Crane and Cap—" One Tang San froze mid-pose.
He could only remember that he knew this move, but he had completely forgotten how to actually perform it.
A heated discussion erupted. Looking at the crowd of men who shared their face, hair color, and build, a rage began to build in each of their hearts.
"Nonsense, I’m Tang San!"
"I’m the real Tang San!"
"I’m real, you’re fake!"
...
Up in the sky, under the combined assault of more than a dozen city- and State Level superhumans, Liu Qingmeng finally exhausted the last of her Spiritual Power and dissipated into a puff of mist.
Meanwhile, in a villa in Z City, Fang Can watched as the Liu Qingmeng in front of him faltered for a moment. Her expression then returned to one of indifference. Without any more questions, she turned and walked out in silence.
’What is wrong with her...’
Having just inexplicably spent several minutes explaining what superhumans were to her, Fang Can was speechless. He turned his head and went back to watching his movie.
Elsewhere, the body of the King of Lame Gags, his bones largely shattered, began to transform. After borrowing the power of a certain healer, the injuries he had just sustained healed at a visible rate, restoring him to his original state.
His body restored, the King of Lame Gags breathed a sigh of relief, reverted to his original appearance, and slowly descended to the ground.
"Everyone, things have escalated beyond our expectations," a superhuman said from a distance, his face grim. "Perhaps we should reconsider our plans for the Otherworld."
"What do you mean?" another, older-looking superhuman asked.
"The strength of the Otherworld’s Martial Artists has somewhat exceeded my predictions. According to the intelligence gathered from this return, any Fourth Turn Martial Artist on the Heaven-Ascending Road can match a national-level superhuman."
"And in the various nations of the Otherworld, each country has at least three or more such Martial Artists."
"As for intelligence on Fifth Turn or even higher-level individuals, we currently have none. Perhaps we should try adopting a softer approach."
As he spoke, the expressions of the superhumans at the scene turned ugly. Having been elites their entire lives, the thought of negotiating gently with a group of people who had no superpowers was galling.
Among them, the King of Lame Gags couldn’t be bothered to join the discussion and had already snuck back to the base. What he found was a crowd of Tang Sans glaring at each other, arguing over who was the real one.
Even he couldn’t help but facepalm at the sight. "This is so damn ’Tang.’ How is this any different from that pointing Spider-Man meme?"
"Next time, these experimental subjects better be locked up properly. What’s the point of mixing them together? It’s a total clusterfuck."
With that thought, the King of Lame Gags looked at the lab researchers and ordered:
"Kill this entire batch of contaminated Tang San experimental subjects for me. Bring in the next batch of clones and start over."
...
As the turbulent night slowly passed, Fang Can woke up on his soft, large bed, full of vigor.
He instinctively glanced at the space beside him, but the familiar figure of Ye Qingshi wasn’t there. It brought him back to his senses—he had returned to his original world.
’I’d gotten a bit too used to life in the Otherworld.’ Fang Can gently rubbed his head and looked up at the calendar.
Suddenly, the doorbell rang, pulling Fang Can from his thoughts.
After changing back into modern clothes, Fang Can reached the front door in a few strides.
The moment he opened the door, he saw a beautiful, curvy woman standing on his doorstep, holding a lavish breakfast prepared just for him.
The woman bowed slightly, naturally revealing her cleavage, and wore a warm smile.
"Young Master Fang Can, this is the breakfast we’ve prepared for you today. If you have any dietary restrictions or are unsatisfied in any way, please let us know, and we will replace it immediately."
"Mm, thank you for your hard work." Fang Can took the breakfast from her, smiled, and closed the door.
Behind him, Jiang Ning’an and Liu Qingmeng watched the scene with placid expressions.
As Martial Artists who had reached the Heaven-Ascending Road, the flattery they received from ordinary people was often even more intense and terrifying, so they were long used to such sights.
Seeing Fang Can enjoying his breakfast, Liu Qingmeng spoke coolly from the side:
"Fang Can, your talent has indeed far exceeded my expectations. Since I was the one who recommended you for the international tournament, and you have already proven your caliber, it is only natural that I take responsibility for you."
Fang Can paused mid-bite and looked up at Liu Qingmeng. Her eyes were serious as she continued:
"For the next few days in this world, I will do my best to guide you so that you can reach the Heaven-Ascending Road Realm as quickly as possible."
"The Heaven-Ascending Road?" Fang Can asked, confused. "Didn’t you say before that only those with a Transcendent Body could participate in the tournament? Why are you having me advance to the Heaven-Ascending Road Realm now?"
"Because the tournament doesn’t prohibit mid-competition breakthroughs," Liu Qingmeng explained.
"As long as you have a Transcendent Body when you enter Fangcun Mountain, you are eligible to participate. There are no restrictions on how much a contestant grows after that."
"Precisely. In every decennial tournament, countless Martial Artists deliberately suppress their level, only to break through immediately after it begins. The final champion of every tournament has never been a Martial Artist with only a Transcendent Body."
’You can do that?’ Fang Can was stunned. He hadn’t expected such a loophole. ’Isn’t that just like boxers cutting weight before a fight?’
Beside them, Jiang Ning’an’s expression shifted slightly. She hadn’t expected her own master to believe Fang Can had the potential to win the championship.
But since the other party was willing to teach him, Fang Can certainly wasn’t going to refuse. He nodded and said, "Then I’ll have to trouble you, Elder Liu. Do I need to formally become your disciple?"
"That won’t be necessary," Liu Qingmeng said, shaking her head. "First, describe your current situation to me so I can get a general understanding of your path to strength. That way, I can tailor my instruction to your needs."
Fang Can stood up and began, "My current Realm is only the Profound Gate Sixth Layer. I should be able to break through the Ninth Layer’s barrier within the next ten days. I also practice a bloodthirsty, berserker-type Secret Technique that can forcibly increase my strength."
While Fang Can was explaining his situation to Liu Qingmeng, several men and women in varied attire, each with a watch on their right arm, abruptly appeared on a building in downtown Z City.
"The world we’ve entered this time is the R-rated horror movie *The Purge*."
