Jiang Lan had Kong Xuan, Yuan Kong, and his other followers wait outside while he entered alone.

He had anticipated this arrangement from Tantai Qing, so he was not surprised.

Tantai Qing studied him, and he studied her. Then, with a tacit understanding, they both smiled at the same time.
