This Is What a Villain Is Like

Chapter 495: You Damned Couple, A Mix of Anger and Resentment, Tantai Qing's Wicked Taste

Seeing her behave so intimately with another man, he couldn’t stop the waves of rage and killing intent that welled up inside him.

What he didn’t want, others could forget about ever touching.

“Jiang Lan, I don’t know what Tantai Qing promised you, but I’m telling you, that woman is a venomous viper. She’s a deep schemer, ruthless and utterly heartless. If you protect her, what happened to me will happen to you.”

However, Helian Wen was no ordinary man. He had experienced much and had a steady disposition. He didn’t let his killing intent show on his face. Instead, he took a deep breath, trying to expose Tantai Qing’s true nature to Jiang Lan.

At his words, Tantai Qing gave him a cold look, apparently not even bothering to defend herself.

“Is that so? In my eyes, however, Qing’Er is sweet, obedient, and understanding. She’s gentle and graceful. There aren’t many women in this world who can compare to her.”

“You’d best not slander her.” Jiang Lan smiled, pulling Tantai Qing into his arms as he spoke.

She shot Jiang Lan a cold glare and started to struggle, but then she glanced at Helian Wen. A thought seemed to cross her mind, and she stopped moving. Instead, a mocking smile full of interest touched her lips as she leaned against Jiang Lan’s chest like a doting woman.

Watching this, Helian Wen felt a sharp pang in his heart, followed by a surge of rage and hatred. He said coldly, “That’s just a facade. Since you choose to believe her, I’ve said my piece. If you continue to side with her, then don’t blame me for being ruthless.”

‘He could faintly tell that Jiang Lan and Tantai Qing were in this together. Jiang Lan probably knew everything she had done; he just didn’t care.’

“I’d like to see just how ruthless you can be.”

Jiang Lan remained completely unfazed, his arm around Tantai Qing not moving an inch.

He reached forward with his other hand. The movement was simple, without the slightest ripple of power.

In Helian Wen’s eyes, however, a raging ocean materialized. The cerulean sea churned, and a colossal Black Tortoise burst forth, immense beyond compare as it charged toward him.

But that wasn’t all. Behind the ocean, a boundless expanse of scorched earth appeared. A Vermilion Bird soared out with wings unfurled, its crimson Feathers wreathed in True Flame as it spewed an endless sea of fire…

Then, from a boundless Ancient Primeval Forest, a majestic White Tiger leaped out with a roar, wreathed in wind and lightning. As its massive claws descended, they seemed to sunder the very heavens and earth. Deep within the vast expanse of the sky, a Cyan Dragon lay concealed, its roar shaking the firmament and making the cosmos itself tremble.

Helian Wen’s expression changed drastically. For the first time, he felt an immense pressure. Without a second thought, he unleashed the Yellow Heaven Creation Palm he had used before. Black and white energy converged, forming a yin-yang fish that shot forward to intercept the attack.

But it was obvious that even though his palm contained the essence of creation itself, it was useless against the divine manifestations of the Four Saints. A terrifying amount of energy erupted from the collision, sending sand and stones flying as the surrounding mountains and cliffs began to shake.

‘So strong…’

Helian Wen grunted, spitting out a mouthful of blood. His eyes were wide with terrified disbelief.

The moment of impact, excruciating pain shot through his arm, followed by the sickening CRACK of shattering bone. His internal organs felt like they had been violently rearranged, and he was nearly blasted into a mist of blood by the shockwave alone.

From that single blow, he understood the immense gap between them. He was no match for Jiang Lan. That vast, boundless wave of Magical Power was like a mortal facing an endless ocean; it was something he absolutely could not contend with at his current level.

Without a moment’s hesitation, he fought through his grievous injuries and the excruciating pain, leaping up to turn and flee.

But Jiang Lan had already anticipated his reaction. He didn’t retract his outstretched hand. The surrounding Void grew hazy as an inexplicable power of law emerged, forming a cage wherein the very flow of time slowed to a crawl.

‘What is this?’

Helian Wen was horrified. He felt as if he had been plunged into a mire; the more he struggled, the deeper he sank. He could feel everything around him blurring, as if the river of time itself had stopped flowing.

‘Could this be the power of time?’

‘How can this guy be so terrifying? This is simply beyond comprehension…’

The terror and dread in his heart intensified. He had never encountered a situation like this before.

Meanwhile, the great hand descended from the heavens, carrying an incomparably dominant aura. It drew upon the Heaven and Earth Void Qi, and a golden light surged, so dense it seemed to solidify as it moved to snatch him into its palm.

Tantai Qing lifted her face to watch the scene unfold. She remained calm, but an intense, unusual light shone in her exquisite eyes. She tilted her head to glance at Jiang Lan, her thoughts unreadable.

“BREAK!”

At that moment, an intense feeling of crisis washed over Helian Wen.

The black mist that had been swirling around him instantly condensed, becoming several times denser. It formed a suit of heavy black armor that clung to his body, causing his aura to skyrocket.

A tyrannical energy erupted from him. In that instant, he was like a man possessed by a Demon God, radiating a ferocious, world-shattering might.

“Sever.”

Yet Jiang Lan merely uttered a single, nonchalant word. In the Void, Sword Intent erupted. Countless streams of Sword Qi appeared, transforming into tangible Divine Swords that hummed as they slashed toward Helian Wen.

In an instant, the air was filled with Sword Qi, crisscrossing in every direction and saturating the Void.

Helian Wen was filled with shock and rage. Trapped within that cage and unable to break free, he could only watch helplessly as the countless blades of Sword Qi descended upon him.

His condensed black armor rang with a series of CLANGS as sparks flew. This was followed by the sharp CRACK of shattering as fissures spiderwebbed across its surface before it finally exploded with a BANG.

Countless sword wounds covered his body, crisscrossing in a grisly pattern. Blood seeped from the cuts, and combined with his savage expression, he looked like a true demon from the abyss.
