Three Systems Made the Fake Heiress Unstoppable

Chapter 215: Brooke York Offends Her Roommates

  • Next Chapter

“It’s my fault, I forgot. I promised to give you shares. Let’s go back now, and I’ll talk to your dad.” Alice Cole turned to head back. She blamed herself for not remembering earlier.

Since they were right by the company anyway, they might as well get it done.

“Forget it. I can tell you don’t really want to give them to me. I’m going back to campus.”

Having said her piece, Brooke York didn’t want to deal with Alice Cole anymore. She marched straight to the curb, flagged down a taxi, and left.

Seeing Brooke act like this, Alice Cole felt helpless but had no other choice. She would just have to take things slowly.

Sitting in the taxi, the more Brooke thought about it, the angrier she got. Now even Alice Cole was starting to side with Chloe York. As far as she could tell, they all felt the need to bow down in gratitude to Chloe now.

Upon arriving at the university, Brooke immediately retreated to her dorm and hid in her bed.

Shortly after, her roommates returned. Seemingly completely unaware that she was in her bed behind the drawn curtain, they began happily discussing Chloe.

“Ugh, I get so annoyed the second I step back into this dorm room!”

“Tell me about it. If only Chloe were our roommate. Instead, we’re stuck living with this so-called Brooke York. It’s so suffocating. Sometimes just looking at her pisses me off.”

“Same here! She is so annoying. Have you seen that look on her face? That constant scowl makes it seem like everyone owes her money, even though we haven’t done anything to her.”

“When she first moved in, I actually thought she had a nice personality. Who knew she’d show her true colors so quickly.”

“I think she started dropping the act because of Chloe, right? Since Chloe was constantly helping people and saving lives, I could see Brooke’s expression getting uglier by the day.”

Hiding in her bed, Brooke’s fury burned hotter with every word. She hadn’t realized her roommates were so fed up with her and despised her this much.

No wonder they barely responded whenever she tried to talk to them. She had assumed it was just because they were in different majors. As it turned out, they were all just Chloe’s lapdogs! That explained their attitude toward her.

“Hey, we’d better stop talking. If she comes back and hears us from the doorway, she’s going to throw another psycho fit.”

“Oh, you’re right. Whenever she goes crazy, she looks for trouble with Chloe. I’ve caught her blocking Chloe’s path and making threats several times!”

“Oh my god, is she really that awful?”

“Yeah. I mean, sure, they were switched at birth and Chloe enjoyed her life for over a decade, but I heard a rumor. Apparently, Brooke’s biological mother thought Brooke was too ugly to be her daughter, so she swapped her for the pretty one—Chloe.”

“Well, if you put it that way, Chloe is actually pretty innocent in all this.”

Brooke ripped open her bed curtain. “Are you done yet? What right do you have to judge me? You don’t want to share a dorm with me? You think I want to be in the same room as you? It’s your honor to share a room with me, and you have the nerve to complain!”

“Brooke York, are you completely shameless? What do you mean it’s our honor? Who do you think you are to make us feel honored?”

“Hah! Let me tell you something. The only way things end well for you is if you get on my good side and respect me. Otherwise, you’re all going to meet a terrible end.”

Anyone who offended her, the female lead, would never have a good ending.

Her declaration did not inspire awe, nor did it make her roommates back down. Instead, they laughed at her even louder.

“I’m dying! This is the first time I’ve ever heard someone say something like that—demanding we respect her!”

“Exactly! I’ve never heard anything so ridiculous. Brooke, I don’t know where you get this massive ego from.”

“Where do I get my ego? What, do you think you’re in the right here? We’re all girls; is it really necessary for you to talk about me behind my back like that?”

At those words, the roommates fell silent. Brooke had a point there; they were in the wrong on that front.

“Fine, we were wrong for that, and we apologize. But everything we said was a fact. Are you going to deny that you blocked Chloe’s way and threatened her?”

“Even if I did threaten her, that’s my business! It’s not your place to gossip about it. I’m warning you—if you ever talk about me behind my back again, I won’t let you get away with it.”

With that, Brooke yanked the curtain shut.

The roommates pursed their lips and said no more.

Lying in bed, Brooke grew angrier by the second, wishing she could climb down and beat them all up. How dare they insult her, the female lead? They were nothing but cannon fodder.

Seething with rage, Brooke directly messaged her academic advisor, reporting that her roommates were gossiping and badmouthing her, demanding the advisor discipline them.

After sending the message, Brooke finally felt a little better. Now, she just had to wait for the advisor to deal with them.

Before long, the roommates received messages from their own advisor. Reading the contents, they all glanced toward Brooke’s bed, then walked out of the dorm room together.

“What the hell? Is she an elementary schooler? She actually tattled on us.” Once outside, the roommates wore expressions of sheer disbelief.

It would have been one thing if she had just told the counselor that she didn’t get along with her roommates. But to actually report them for gossiping and ask the advisor to punish them? They had been absolutely stunned when they saw the message. 𝘧𝓇ℯℴ𝓂

“She’s pretty fast at tattling, too. She probably texted her advisor the second she closed that curtain.”

“She definitely did. How else would our advisor’s message reach us so quickly?”

“I’m so speechless. The older you get, the more weirdos you meet. There really is all kinds of crazy in this world, and we just witnessed it firsthand.”

“What do we do now? We’ve completely fallen out with her. It’s going to be so awkward running into her in the same dorm from now on. Actually, wait, no, I just don’t want to see her at all. Looking at her makes me physically uncomfortable.”

“I don’t want to see her anymore either.”

“To be honest, I want to move out. She’s not even in our major, and clearly we don’t get along. The best thing to do is switch dorms. What do you guys think?”

“I think that works. I kind of want to switch rooms too; living with her is just too suffocating.”

“Let’s go apply for a room change, then. We can just use the fact that she complained to the advisor as our excuse to leave.”

“Yeah, yeah, this is the perfect opportunity to bring it up.”

Chatting among themselves, the group headed downstairs.

Meanwhile, back in the dorm, Brooke waited until she heard them leave before triumphantly yanking open her curtain. She knew it—her advisor must have messaged their advisor, prompting their advisor to text them a warning.

“That’s what you get for going against me. You’d all better move out. I can have this huge room all to myself! I am the female lead, after all; I’m supposed to have a private dorm.”

Feeling immensely pleased with herself, Brooke lay back down on her bed.
