While they were talking, Gu Shengyin saw a middle‑aged woman with carefully permed wavy hair and a designer dress walk into the office, her expression very unpleasant.

The woman’s sharp gaze swept around the entire office, and very quickly locked onto her target—Gu Shengyin was the only student standing there.

“Is it you? You’re that girl called Zhou Qi?”

The middle‑aged woman’s picky, appraising eyes ran up and down Gu Shengyin, then she suddenly strode straight up to her and raised her hand.

“I heard you’re some kid who didn’t have a mother to raise her? No wonder you’d do something this vicious…”

She was talking as she came right up to Gu Shengyin, her hand raised high, about to come down—

It was stopped by another hand.

It was the young police officer who had been standing next to Gu Shengyin the whole time.

From the moment this middle‑aged woman walked in, the young officer’s brows had been tightly furrowed; now, seeing her almost barbaric behavior, he was even more disgusted—having a domineering mother like this, no wonder her kid ended up bullying classmates.

“Ma’am, please don’t hit anyone.” He let go of the woman’s hand and spoke as politely as he could.

The middle‑aged woman turned back, very impatient. Seeing his uniform, she at least reined in her expression a little, but her mouth was still full of resentment: “What, what now? This girl bullied my daughter. I’m her mother—seeing my own child get bullied, I’m not allowed to stand up for her?”

The young officer clearly didn’t have much social experience yet. There were a lot of things he couldn’t stomach, but he wasn’t very smooth‑tongued.

He could only stress one point: “Hitting people is wrong. You’re an adult, you shouldn’t be going after a child.”

The woman’s brows shot up and she looked about to explode, when the other officer stepped forward.

He glanced at the woman and said, “We still don’t have the full truth yet, and we’re working here as police officers. Ma’am, please don’t interfere with official business.”

The middle‑aged woman glared hatefully at the two officers, then rolled her eyes at Gu Shengyin, who was being shielded by them, before finally turning and walking over to the door.

The older officer’s face didn’t change. He’d seen plenty of people over the years; this kind of parent, like today’s, was textbook bully‑the‑weak, fear‑the‑strong.

If you try to reason with her, she just thinks you’re scared of her, and her arrogance only gets worse. Better to just crush her with authority.

Soon, the middle‑aged woman dragged a girl in a dress back into the room.

It was Zhang Qin.

She had been carefully done up, wearing a brand‑new dress; looking at her like this, there wasn’t a trace of injury on her body.

Gu Shengyin smiled inwardly. Yesterday when she beat them up, she’d been very measured—she’d made sure those few people suffered plenty, while looking on the surface like nothing had happened.

Put next to her, Zhou Qi, with a bruise still on her face and all kinds of marks hidden under her clothes, was definitely the weaker one.

As soon as Zhang Qin walked into the room and saw Gu Shengyin, her expression changed: “Zhou Qi, you little bitch, just you wait, I…”

The two officers exchanged a look. No matter how you looked at it, this girl called Zhou Qi seemed much more like the real victim here.

When they’d found those students yesterday, the group had still been in a state of shock; one of the girls was even crying.

Who would’ve thought that after just one night’s rest, they’d be back to their usual selves.

This must be how they normally behave, right?

Gu Shengyin didn’t say anything, just stood quietly behind them with her head lowered.
