Chapter 1414: Chapter 1414: Am I Still Not Proper Enough Lately?

"Don’t be afraid, I’ll get rid of them." Amanda Fuller said again.

Amanda Fuller hit the gas and increased the speed.

The car weaved through the streets and alleys, with the car behind sticking closely.

Amanda Fuller seemed to be struggling a bit.

Her driving skills appeared to be far inferior to those chasing them.

Aurelia Shaw pondered for a moment and realized that the other’s purpose wasn’t to harm her; otherwise, they wouldn’t have just followed for so long.

However, fearing an accident, Aurelia made a phone call to Mason Nightshade.

"Miss me?" Mason chuckled lowly, surprised that she took the initiative to call him.

"I’m being followed."

Mason’s expression suddenly darkened, "Address, I’m coming right away."

Aurelia tapped her phone and activated location sharing.

Soon enough, Mason arrived following the location.

The car stopped, and Aurelia got out of the nanny van. Mason wrapped his arm around her waist and brought her into the car.

"What about me, Mr. Nightshade?" Amanda reached out a finger pointing at herself.

She glanced at Aurelia.

The scene... it felt awkward to just get in the car with them.

"You keep driving." Mason ordered coldly, and with a faint smile, he said lightly, "Their target is Aurelia. As long as Aurelia’s not in your car, they won’t do anything to you."

"What if something does happen?" Amanda asked. There’s always a what-if; wasn’t he afraid she’d really get into trouble?

Mason chuckled, "Dylan, you follow her."

"Huh? Me? Oh, okay." Dylan Harper looked baffled as he walked over to Amanda Fuller, "Uh... Miss Fuller, let me drive you back."

Amanda curled her lip.

She felt Mason was the most friend-disregarding person in the world; besides Aurelia, no one’s life seemed to matter to him.

Forget it, Amanda wasn’t the type to get jealous over this stuff. She was used to it and was happier than anyone seeing Aurelia well.

Amanda didn’t bother to drive herself and let Dylan take the wheel.

Aurelia was carried into the car, and Mason didn’t let her down, instead placing her on his lap, his hand smoothing her hair from behind.

"Were you scared?" Mason asked, close to Aurelia’s cheek.

Aurelia raised an eyebrow, "Do I look scared to you?"

She nudged him, "I asked you to come to find out who they were!"

"My people have been sent to follow them." Mason watched as Aurelia’s hackles rose, an itch in his mind, and he dipped his head to plant a kiss on her cheek, "Why have you been so restless lately? Even with you under my nose, you’re still attracting attention."

Aurelia wanted to roll her eyes.

"Could it be Alaric Wood?" she bit her lip.

Ever since she messaged Alaric, she hadn’t contacted him again.

She wondered if Alaric was still caught in the trap Mason had left for him.

"Alaric isn’t that easy to deal with. The trap you left for him last time can’t fool him for long. He probably discovered it already. If he can’t find me, he’ll go crazy, Mason, he’ll latch onto you." Aurelia furrowed her brows lightly.

Mason smiled unconcernedly, "Worried about me?"

As he spoke, he leaned down and nibbled her ear.

"Can you be serious for a minute?" Aurelia was irritated and tugged at his ear.

Mason laughed, his expression care-free. To him, her strength was like a tickle, and being ear-tugged by his woman wasn’t embarrassing to him.

He would cherish and pamper his woman.

He reached out, rubbing her lips until they were red and swollen, his breath low and husky.

"Haven’t I been serious lately?" he asked.

His large palm moved to her shoulder, gently and carefully, stroking the injured spot, with a hint of suggestion.
