Chapter 1430: Chapter 1430: Do You Have Any Brothers?

Mason Nightshade had heard Aurelia mention this Freyman a few times.

He’d looked into the man; the background was extremely mysterious, he couldn’t find anything.

No photos either.

Mason belonged to the military, and there weren’t any photos of him online either.

A few times he and Aurelia Shaw had appeared on the entertainment pages, but it all got wiped afterwards, without leaving so much as a trace.

Mason guessed that if this Freyman wasn’t someone from the M Nation military, then he could only be Mafia.

"I don’t have any brothers. I’ll look into Freyman. Stop worrying."

Mason remembered the poison in Aurelia Shaw’s body, which was also tied to Freyman.

Looked like this man couldn’t be allowed to live either.

Anyone who had ever hurt Aurelia, he would never let them keep living in this world.

Mason was brutal, bloody, and ruthless to everyone else, but the love he gave Aurelia was the gentlest, so Aurelia was willing to accept that violent Mason; besides, she had her own bloodthirsty, savage side.

Aurelia drifted off under Mason’s coaxing.

It had been like this these past few days.

When Aurelia woke up, she was alone in the room.

The bed still held Mason’s lingering scent; looked like he’d just left not long ago.

Aurelia had things she needed to do as well.

She tidied up a bit, got out of bed, and went out.

As long as Clara Philips and her daughter weren’t eliminated, they would never let her go. She knew that mother and daughter’s nature well: greedy and jealous. She’d made them lose the Shaw Family as their backing, ruined Jovana Shaw’s reputation—there was no way they wouldn’t take revenge.

This was already far beyond the simple feud between stepmother and stepdaughter.

What Clara Philips and her daughter wanted was for her to be utterly disgraced, for her life to be worse than death.

Andrew Kennedy’s car was parked right at the door.

Aurelia got in, and the two of them headed to Nightfall.

Andrew ordered the food, then saw Aurelia with her head lowered, deep in thought.

"What are you thinking about?" Andrew asked.

Aurelia lifted her head, a faint smile touching her red lips. "I’m thinking Alison should be about ready to reel in the net. It’s been almost a month. With her patience, lasting this long is already not easy."

Andrew didn’t quite follow, but from Aurelia’s tone, she seemed to understand Alison very well?

The dishes were served quickly.

Andrew suspected nothing and started eating, but Aurelia’s hand paused mid-motion with the chopsticks.

The waiter’s heart clenched: could she have noticed something?

"Bring me a bottle of red wine," Aurelia said.

The waiter let out a quiet breath of relief, answered "Yes," and went out.

When he came back, he glanced at the dishes on the table.

Half the food was already gone. The corners of the waiter’s mouth curled into a cold, sinister smile; he put down the wine and stepped out.

Leaving the private room, the waiter went into another.

"It worked. They ate the dishes. The drug will kick in in a few minutes." The waiter cautiously lifted his gaze, but unfortunately the woman in front of him was wearing a mask and sunglasses; he couldn’t make out her face.

For this kind of job, no wonder she’d cover up so tightly.

"My payment..."

Alison flicked her hand dismissively, and the person behind her tossed a wad of cash to the waiter.

The waiter counted it and left, delighted. Alison gave a look to the people behind her.

The person behind her tailed after him out.

Helped her do something like this and still wanted to walk away alive.

Alison let out a cold laugh, finished her call to the newspaper, and settled in to wait.

She felt a bit hot, so she turned on the air conditioner.

Seeing a bowl of red bean ice on the table, Alison ate it.

Very soon, the reporters who’d gotten the tip rushed over.

They brushed past the staff’s attempts to stop them and forced their way in. When they saw the scene inside, they froze.

Aurelia and Andrew Kennedy were eating, their complexions normal—no sign of the drug use mentioned on the phone, and they weren’t doing anything indecent either. Had they been played?
