Chapter 1436: Chapter 1436: What Nonsense?! I’m Clearly Training a Wolf!
Aurelia shook her head.
Her brother wouldn’t let her get involved with the Parker Family; he must have his reasons.
Aurelia believed in her brother.
"Let’s go." Aurelia said, but her hand suddenly grew warm.
Mason Nightshade held Aurelia’s hand. "Aurelia, no matter if it’s a pot of boiling oil or a sea of fire, I’ll be right there with you. If you really want to go, then go. I’ll be there to protect you."
Aurelia’s heart tightened sourly; she wrapped her arms around Mason Nightshade’s neck and sat on his lap.
He understood her best, and knew exactly what she was thinking.
Mason Nightshade sighed, stroking Aurelia’s back. "If you want to go, then go. Don’t worry about anything else."
She had lacked family affection since she was little, so she craved having a home.
Mason Nightshade had tried hard to build a warm home for her, but this home wasn’t the one she longed for. She had no mother, no father’s love, only Caspian Parker as her one blood relative since childhood, and he had even abandoned her for many years. So she felt differently about Caspian; Caspian had a different place in her heart.
Precisely because he knew all this, Mason Nightshade had gone through a lot of trouble to find the Parker Family.
She wanted a home that truly belonged to her, one tied by blood, like a bird returning to its nest. She didn’t have a nest of her own, and that left her without a sense of security.
No matter whether that home was dangerous or not, only after she experienced it herself could she decide if she wanted it.
Even if Caspian Parker was doing it for her own good, he’d never asked what she thought.
"But my brother... Mason, I have to at least say something to my brother. If I just go in like this, it’s betraying him. He’s been protecting me and standing up for me, and I’d be acting like some ungrateful little wolf."
Mason Nightshade caught her chin and tilted it up, brows lifting. "Then what does that make me?"
Aurelia thought about it, then laughed. "The guy who raised the ungrateful wolf."
Mason Nightshade felt like smacking her butt, but being the guy who raised an ungrateful wolf wasn’t so bad.
Mason Nightshade drove another three hours and returned to Caspian Parker’s place.
Aurelia had her mind set on talking to Caspian about going back to the Parker Family. Without even saying anything to Mason Nightshade, she pulled the car door open and was about to get out.
Mason Nightshade was so pissed off by her careless, heartless look that his chest hurt. With a long arm, he hooked her around the waist, hauled her into his arms, set her on his lap, and pinned her there! His long fingers gripped her chin as he kissed her angrily.
Aurelia was completely baffled.
Mason Nightshade’s big hand slipped under her clothes.
He was getting more and more out of line! Aurelia grabbed his big hand, her voice muffled. "Mason, don’t push your luck! We’re on a public street, you..."
Mason Nightshade pretended not to hear, quickly stripping her bare and pressing her against the steering wheel.
He used a really good tint on his car; from the inside he could see out, but from the outside they couldn’t see in. Even so, Aurelia’s heart was racing as she looked around, guilty and nervous that someone might pass by.
"What kind of crazy are you pulling now?!" Aurelia glared at Mason Nightshade.
Seeing her little face flushed with anger, those peach blossom eyes glaring at him in mock fury, Mason Nightshade’s heart pounded wildly. The corner of his mouth hooked up in a smile. "You heartless little kitty, I treat you so well and you just walk off without looking back. How can you be this ungrateful, huh?"
"Since when do cats have a conscience?" Aurelia arched a brow, sounding completely justified.
Mason Nightshade pinched her face in a mix of anger and affection, then lowered his head to kiss her soft red lips again and again, never satisfied. "Makes me want to keep you by my side forever."
Mason Nightshade had said this more than once, but there were always all kinds of problems popping up along their road together.
Aurelia was a little sentimental too.
She rubbed Mason Nightshade’s wolfish head. "Be good."
Mason Nightshade bit her lip in annoyance. "You training a dog or something?!"
"What nonsense are you talking? I’m clearly training a wolf!" Aurelia replied with a straight face.
