Top Tier Perversion: Dual Cultivate Secretly
Chapter 121: Event #002 Rewards
It was a little past eight in the morning.
A thin mist lingered over Copper Town’s rooftops. Beyond the manor gates, carts rattled over the damp road while shopkeepers opened their doors for the day.
Inside the dining room, the lamps had been extinguished. Sunlight entered through the tall windows and fell across the breakfast table, where servants were setting down the last few dishes.
Vincent sat between Leona and Anastasia, with Vivienne at the head of the table. Vanessa was across from him, already eating, while Linda poured tea and Felicia spoke quietly to a servant near the door.
There was warm bread, butter, eggs, and a roasted quail on his plate.
For once, he could eat a proper breakfast with everyone around him.
Vincent looked at his mother. She was in an almost formal black dress with her hair done neatly. She looked more like a countess than a mother.
Her demeanor was calm and reserved, like she was in work mode and not in any mood to joke.
The difference from last night was too striking.
Vincent then turned to Leona.
She was calmly buttering a piece of toast with a butter knife. Nothing seemed different about her and she was quite calm.
‘Did last night even happen?’ Vincent wondered.
Linda finished pouring the tea before taking her seat.
Vincent tore a warm piece of bread in half and settled more comfortably in his chair.
He reached for his cup and found Vivienne watching his hand.
“Any discomfort?” she asked.
Vincent shook his head. “None.”
She was likely referring to his veins and Vincent answered that.
“Even when circulating your energy?”
Vincent nodded. “I tried before coming down. Everything’s fine.”
Vivienne gave a small nod and picked up her tea.
At this moment, Leona’s knee brushed against his beneath the table.
Vincent turned, wondering what was up, and found her already looking at him.
Leona handed Vincent the piece of toast she was buttering, and he took it with an even more confused look.
The gesture did not go unnoticed by anyone around the table.
Almost nobody paid it any mind because of Vincent and Leona’s relationship.
‘Is this what you can do when you’re engaged?’ Vanessa subtly glanced at Vincent while eating a piece of bread.
Well… almost nobody.
Vincent’s new appearance had surprised Vanessa considerably when he first appeared in the dining hall.
Ever since, she had been watching his every movement.
She wished to know what happened for the sudden change and got briefed about it from Felicia.
Apparently Linda informed Felicia about it this morning because she knew Vanessa was sure to wonder about it.
After knowing there was a suppression and looking at his growth and cultivation, Vanessa had her competitive spirit fired up.
She looked forward to training with Vincent. He still had the pending axe training sessions with her. Now that he was at the peak of Vein Awakening, the sessions should be more fun.
Away from her, while eating the buttered toast, Vincent did not waste any more time and did what he had to do.
‘System, open Event #002’s rewards. Keep the physical items in system inventory if there are any.’
He had waited long enough, and with everyone gathered around him, there was hardly a better opportunity to use the probability bonus.
[Major Fate Deviation reward: Roll x2]
[Anchor Destabilization reward: Roll x5]
[Overall Fate Deviation reward(S): Ocean-Domain Swim Shorts]
[Event #002 Completion reward: Fate Archive II]
Vincent paused with his fork halfway to his mouth.
‘Swim shorts?’
He checked the third line again.
He had fought a monster tide, saved kingdoms, and nearly died fighting Celeste, and this damn system gave him some damn swim shorts as a reward?
[Ocean-Domain Swim Shorts: S-rank combat attire. Adjusts to the wearer’s size.]
[Grants underwater breathing and unrestricted movement.]
[Ocean Domain: Allows the wearer to command surrounding water. Strength depends on the depth and extent of the connected body of water. The greater the size, the greater the strength.]
[Defensive trait: Can take one hit from a peak immortal.]
‘Well… seems good.’
Vincent was still clueless about the strength levels but peak immortal sounded strong so he didn’t brood over.
The overall description did make the artifact seem powerful, however, at the end of the day…
‘They’re still shorts and not some cool ass weapon.’
Vincent internally sighed.
He then noticed Fate Archive II.
It was an upgraded version of Fate Archive I and the ability was that Vincent could now actually enter the memories and make changes.
The changes won’t reflect in real life but within the constraints of the memories, he could do a lot of stuff.
For example, if he watched the memories of fighting Celeste, he would enter into it. He could then use better combat strategies and so on.
But he could not full out Excalibur from out of nowhere or have a gun magically appear in his hands and get used on the person.
Another function was to momentarily borrow powers from himself in the latest memories of Fate Archive.
If maybe Vincent was stronger when he died, he could’ve borrowed the strength and done wonders, but currently he wasn’t.
He died when he was weak, and the current him was much stronger than that. No point borrowing powers.
Though it was quite cool nonetheless.
Once finished browsing through both, he began rolling.
He had seven rolls to do.
[Rolling…]
[…]
[Roll #1: Devil’s Chalk]
[…]
[Roll #2: Interpreter’s Lozenge]
[…]
[Roll #3: Gravekeeper’s Lantern]
[…]
[Roll #4: Mourning Crow Token]
[…]
[Roll #5: Indestructible Hand Fan]
[…]
[Roll #6: Moonlit Pear Seed]
[…]
[Roll #7: Restoration Seal]
[…]
Seven items appeared in storage.
Vincent chewed his food while examining the first. It was a short piece of black chalk wrapped in old paper.
[Devil’s Chalk: Nothing holy will cross the lines made by the chalk. Has a 50-50 chance of summoning a berserk or obedient devil. The devil’s strength will be one realm higher than the Host.]
‘Wow. I got this as a first roll reward? It’s quite amazing, I won’t lie.’
[The system is glad.]
It was quite rare for the system to give Vincent something so good.
He checked the second item’s description.
The lozenge allowed him to understand, read, write and speak unfamiliar languages for one hour. It did not teach the language, and he would likely have to make an active effort to actually learn that language if he wished to speak it later.
This had a cooldown for half a day.
It was yet another good reward.
Then came the Gravekeeper’s Lantern.
It was basically a lantern that allowed Vincent safe passage to the underworld.
He could literally venture into the world of the dead but that was it.
It did not protect him there or anything, just allowed him a passage. He would very likely die if he ever charged in without thinking or having a good enough strength.
The reward was somewhat useless for the current him. Maybe when he ranked up later, he could make a better use of it?
Moving on, Vincent focused on the Mourning Crow Token.
This could summon an actual crow and Vincent could give it a message to deliver to anyone he liked, as long as he knew them.
The crow had two forms. The first was a normal crow form and it could be hunted or killed so the delivery wasn’t guaranteed.
The second form was a mystical formless one. The crow would go beyond the confines of space and time, becoming mystical and would deliver the message with a hundred percent guarantee.
To use the second form Vincent needed mourning tokens. He would have to perform proper last rites for the deceased to gather the tokens.
The problem with it was that he had no idea how he could keep finding dead people, and another major problem was explaining himself to the dead person’s relatives.
Vincent didn’t know how he could just go to random dead people and ask the person’s relatives to allow him to perform the last rites.
It felt a bit too weird, but this was a good ability too.
Next was the pear seed. This would grow into a tree whose fruit helped with recovery and meditation.
It would take roughly five weeks for it to grow and give fruit.
After every five months, it would undergo a transformation and help with better recovery and meditation.
Vincent did not have a lot of time to grow it. Though he did find it useful, and his house had a lot of gardeners so he could hand it to them. They’d take care of it and he could harvest the fruits for his benefits.
Next was the fan.
[Indestructible Hand Fan: Cannot be damaged.]
Vincent waited.
No further description appeared.
‘Does it do anything else?’
[It can be used to fan oneself.]
Vincent internally cursed the system for withholding information, then chose to focus on his other reward.
He would test the indestructible trait of this fan later. He didn’t have high hopes, but he looked forward to it.
His gaze then moved to the Restoration Seal.
It was a thin golden square, no larger than his palm, with a single unfamiliar character in the middle.
[Restoration Seal: Completely restores one broken item to its last intact state, including missing portions.]
[No restriction on the item’s grade.]
[Single use. Consumed upon activation. Cannot be used on living beings.]
Vincent stopped chewing.
‘No grade restriction?’
[Correct.]
‘Even an immortal artifact?’
[Correct. Even an immortal or a godly artifact. The realm is not restricted.]
‘Wow…’
Vincent was really fascinated.
Was the probability thing actually real? He kept getting good rewards, and he was really wondering what would happen if all his ladies were at Perfect Union and he did a roll.
The restoration seal can be given to Leona so she could study it and grow further strong.
Maybe she could make one such seal herself and help Vincent in future?
He didn’t know about it but decided to give it to her nonetheless.
Those were all the rewards and honestly, Vincent was quite happy with them.
He would have to study each one carefully.
For now, he had plans to fiddle with the leveled up Fate Archive and Vincent thought of activating it immediately.
