Top-tier Unruly Master
Chapter 2382: No Thinking About Others
Ling Wanru narrowed her eyes, smiling like a little fox. She walked toward Ding Fan with the whip in hand, laughing as she said, “Are you afraid people will start coveting you? Or afraid of being found out and scolded by the Eleven Royal Families? Do you want me to sell it for you? You trust me this much, aren’t you afraid I’ll leak the news? Not worried I’ll swallow all your Spiritual Materials for myself? Or even skim off your share of Black Obsidian?”
Ding Fan spread his hands and said to Ling Wanru, “I don’t have many friends. You’re one of the very few, and the only one who can actually help me. I can only rely on you. I won’t let you help me for nothing—I’ll give you ten percent of the Black Obsidian on every deal. If… if you end up swallowing it all, then I can only say I was just unlucky.”
“Hehehehe~”
Ling Wanru giggled, her body trembling like a flower in bloom. She looked at Ding Fan with shy eyes and said in a coquettish tone, “Ten percent? Are you taking me for a beggar? Fifty percent sounds more like it!”
Dark lines practically floated over Ding Fan’s head. He turned his head and looked pitifully at Ling Wanru as he said, “My dear young lady, those Spiritual Materials aren’t all mine. I’m feeding a whole crowd here, you know. To help them improve their Realms, I have to keep buying rare Spiritual Materials for them. If you want fifty percent, then I’ll have to pay out of my own Black Obsidian. Do you really think a little Northern Wastelands nobody like me can afford that?”
“Fine then, I don’t want your fifty percent, and I don’t want that ten percent either.”
Ling Wanru’s gaze suddenly turned seductive. The leather whip in her hand lightly brushed across Ding Fan’s face, and she pointed at the big bed. “Let’s go sleep for a bit. Make me feel good, and we’ll call that the payment, okay?”
Black lines covered Ding Fan’s forehead. He looked helplessly at Ling Wanru and said, “My dear young lady, can you please stop playing with me?”
“Playing?”
Ling Wanru tilted her head with a smile. “Is it that you don’t want to betray your lover? Or you just don’t think much of me, don’t think much of this withered flower? It’s fine, we’re just fooling around, anyway. Just treat it as us playing a game.”
Ding Fan gave a faint shake of his head and looked straight at Ling Wanru as he said, “Wanru, I really treasure our friendship. I don’t want to mix other things into it—that would ruin it.”
“I don’t want friendship.”
Ling Wanru said with a smile, “I’ve never thought of you as my friend. I’ve only ever seen you as my little lover. You can treat me as your lover, or your confidante, you know.”
Ding Fan looked seriously at Ling Wanru and said, “I’m being serious. If you keep this up, I’ll get angry.”
“Alright then!”
Ling Wanru gave him a mischievous smile, stuck out her tongue and said, “You’re no fun at all. I joke with you a little and you take it this seriously—so boring. Right now you’re acting all upright and proper, but just now when you were washing my feet, you didn’t even want to let go of them.”
“When was I ever like that?”
Ding Fan rubbed his chin awkwardly. Ling Wanru’s jade-like feet really were gorgeous; just now, he really had felt a bit reluctant to let go. But he hadn’t had any bad thoughts—he was just appreciating them, that was all.
“Heh heh!”
Seeing Ding Fan’s face redden slightly, Ling Wanru couldn’t help bursting into laughter. Her eyes sparkled, making her look exactly like a little fox.
“Alright, let’s talk business.”
Ding Fan straightened his expression and said, “How are you planning to sell these Spiritual Materials? I don’t want anyone to know, and I might also need to buy Spiritual Materials to impact the Divine Realm’s Seventh Level Realm. That’ll definitely draw the attention of the big families. Do you know any way around that?”
“Small stuff, it’s all small stuff.”
Ling Wanru lifted her chin proudly and said, “Just relax and leave everything to me. I guarantee no one will be able to trace it back to you. Not even the people from Spirit Dragon Hall will notice anything. Don’t underestimate this young lady—I’m way better than those good-for-nothing young masters and ladies of your Ding Family.”
Ling Wanru was one step away from swearing an oath. Ding Fan really couldn’t say anything more; he just nodded lightly and headed outside. Ling Gang was sitting in a side hall just outside the main hall—if they kept talking here for too long, it would attract attention.
Ling Wanru followed behind Ding Fan, but there was a sly glint in her eyes. Suddenly, she messed up her own hair, tugged her clothes into a chaotic mess, and even undid one of the buttons.
“Buzz buzz~”
Ding Fan opened the mechanism Prohibition and walked out. Ling Wanru twisted her waist as she followed him out, straightening her clothes as she went, her face looking very shy.
“Uh?”
After Ding Fan went out, he saw Ling Gang and Madam Yan both standing outside the secret chamber. The two of them were looking past him at Ling Wanru behind him, and Ling Gang’s expression turned very ugly, his whole body brimming with killing intent.
Ding Fan turned his head and glanced at Ling Wanru, and couldn’t help being shocked. Then he quickly waved his hand and said, “Wait, we didn’t do anything. Ling Wanru, what on earth are you doing?”
Ling Wanru’s face looked extremely aggrieved, as if silently blaming Ding Fan for pulling up his pants and then refusing to admit anything, and the killing intent on Ling Gang was growing stronger and stronger.
Madam Yan knew Ling Gang wouldn’t make a move, so she wasn’t worried. She only looked at Ding Fan curiously and said, “Emperor, how come you came out so fast? Is there something wrong with your body?”
“Hahaha!”
Seeing Ding Fan looking terribly awkward, practically about to cough up blood, Ling Wanru laughed in an exaggerated way, like a rose swaying in the night sky…
Ling Wanru didn’t leave, and simply stayed on in Dream Love City, while Ding Fan started handling the internal affairs of the Northern Wastelands. He’d been away from the Northern Wastelands for so long that he needed to know what the situation was.
His not meddling in things didn’t mean he was some idiot who let everything slide. What if Madam Yan and Zhong Zhiyong acted recklessly and sidelined him?
He remembered Madam Yan arranging the residences for Ling Wanru and Ling Gang, then went to see Ding Aoshuang. The two of them chatted for an entire afternoon, and afterward he summoned Crimson Flame and gave him some instructions.
Ding Fan had dinner together with Ling Wanru alone, with no one accompanying them. As for Ling Gang, he basically ignored him—Madam Yan could be the one to entertain him anyway. Spirit Dragon Hall Master Ling Xiaotian never liked him to begin with, so there was no need for him to care about Spirit Dragon Hall’s impression of him.
Ling Wanru ate very heartily; it was a delicious meal. A few days earlier she hadn’t eaten anything at all and had grown noticeably thinner. Tonight, with Ding Fan accompanying her, she sampled the specialty dishes of the Northern Wastelands, which greatly whetted her appetite, and she ate until she was stuffed to the brim.
Unfortunately, she didn’t much like the wine of the Northern Wastelands, complaining it wasn’t strong enough. She hadn’t brought Blood Droplet Rose with her this time. Ding Fan served her several kinds of wine, but she didn’t care for any of them.
After eating, Ling Wanru said she was way too full and told Ding Fan to take her around to have a look at the scenery of the Northern Wastelands. Ding Fan had found a way to save Herr Ningshuang, so his mood had improved a lot. He brought Ling Wanru with him and teleported to a large city, where there was a beautiful scenic spot—a huge waterfall, ten thousand feet high, famous throughout the entire Northern Wastelands.
Tonight the night was exquisite, the moonlight bright, the breeze gentle. Having a pretty woman by his side was a fine thing. Unfortunately, Ling Gang kept tailing them the whole way, which really made him seem rather out of place.
Later, only after Ling Wanru finally lost her temper did Ling Gang pull back and put some distance between himself and the two of them, trailing far behind, not daring to disturb their enjoyment anymore. When they arrived at the waterfall, Ling Wanru was stunned by the sight before her.
Under the moonlight, the waterfall seemed to fall straight from the sky; seen from afar, it looked even more like silver spilling down, incomparably magnificent.
Below the waterfall was a picturesque lake, with pavilions and towers along the shore, built by the city lord of this region. Before coming, Ding Fan had already told Crimson Flame to go and make arrangements, so the nearby people had all been evacuated.
Beside the pavilion there was also a boat. Ling Wanru was very good at swimming, and she immediately hopped aboard, telling Ding Fan to row the little boat out onto the lake.
Now, with Ling Wanru being this kind of young miss, Ding Fan really didn’t dare offend her. On top of that, she was currently his guest, so as the Emperor of the Northern Wasteland, Ding Fan naturally had to treat her properly.
“Ling Gang, wait for me on the shore. If you dare follow me out here, when we get back I’ll castrate that precious grandson of yours.” Seeing Ling Gang’s figure flicker in the distance, Ling Wanru raised her voice at him in a coquettish shout.
In the distance, Ling Gang’s legs trembled; he really didn’t dare follow any farther. If Ling Wanru truly went crazy, even Ling Xiaotian had no way to deal with her. If he really offended her today, his grandson would definitely become a eunuch, and his bloodline would vanish.
Ling Gang could only quickly hide himself near the lakeshore to prevent anyone from approaching. In truth, he wasn’t all that worried: there were no Seventh Level Experts of the Divine Realm in the Northern Wastelands, and besides, with Ding Fan—this Emperor of the Northern Wasteland—here, who would dare cause trouble? Crimson Flame also had people guarding the outer perimeter.
The night was infinitely gentle; the lake surface shimmered with ripples, the waterfall plunged down in the distance, the lake was clear and the scenery pleasant, like paradise itself.
Ling Wanru sat at the other end of the boat, holding a wine jug, watching Ding Fan rowing at the stern. She kept laughing, occasionally tipping her head back and taking a hearty swig of good wine.
The beautiful young lady occasionally lifted her face to drink, looking a bit wanton and unrestrained, yet flamboyantly enchanting. She slipped off her shoes, dipped her pair of fair jade feet into the water, sometimes kicking up little splashes, and let out peals of silver-bell laughter.
Seeing Ling Wanru so happy, Ding Fan’s mood gradually improved as well. But as he looked at the scene before him, Herr Ningshuang’s peerless face involuntarily surfaced in his mind. Thinking of her body sealed in ice, a wave of pain surged through his heart.
“Hey, listen to me~”
Ling Wanru’s shout jolted Ding Fan out of his thoughts. Tilting her head, pointing the wine jug at him, she said, “Ding Fan, show this young lady some respect, okay? When you’re with me, don’t go thinking about other women, got it? Otherwise I’ll throw all your Spiritual Materials into the lake.”
