Train Survival: I Can Evolve Everything!
Chapter 876: The One Who Wants to Be Forgotten · The Escapee
Outside the window, what a clamor.
At the train door.
WALL-E was raring to go, eager to set out and search for treasure.
Ye Qiyan looked at its appearance, bent down, and directly pressed his hand on top of its head.
"Last station you snuck out without getting lectured. Be careful this time, a Level 10 platform is still a bit troublesome."
WALL-E nodded seriously, its eyes curving into crescents.
"Alright, stay safe."
He didn't say much more, watching WALL-E's figure leave the train and disappear into the crowd.
The crowd, huh...
Ye Qiyan looked outside the train window. The scenery outside was an English-style station platform.
Inside the platform, there were a total of seven tracks, and docked on all of them were steam-powered trains.
Outside the trains, several attendants holding batons paced around, seemingly curious about Ye Qiyan's train that was so obviously different.
"Just entered the station and already running into people. Doesn't seem like anything special. Whatever, it's a Hunting Platform anyway."
He pressed the door-opening button.
The attendants outside sized up his expensive attire, slightly taken aback, and then someone cautiously inquired:
"My lord noble, might I ask where you are headed?"
Noble lord. This world seemed to be another place overflowing with aristocrats and royalty.
"Just wandering around."
"Very well, then your train..."
Ye Qiyan pulled a pouch of gold coins bearing no pattern from his pocket.
Gold was hard currency in the vast majority of worlds. As tips for the natives of Station Worlds, it worked quite well.
And this stuff wasn't expensive for a Train Conductor at all, because several Station Worlds capable of stably producing massive amounts of gold were controlled by certain Guilds. In a sense, it was only just a bit more precious than ordinary metal.
"Parking it here, no problem, right?"
The attendant caught the heavy pouch. The others around gathered close, and when they opened the pouch and saw the glittering gold coins inside, their eyes went wide.
Before they could react, a middle-aged man wearing a black top hat, holding a long-shafted Scepter, and sporting a mustache snatched it away in one grab.
"Greetings, great noble from afar. I am the administrator of this platform. Please rest assured, we will seal off this railway to ensure your train is not disturbed."
Those small eyes were filled with shrewdness and greed, looking at Ye Qiyan as if gazing upon an oversized Fat Sheep.
Ye Qiyan chuckled inwardly, ignored the middle-aged man, and left the train with Lisette, closing the door behind him.
He didn't want to cause too much of a commotion. At least, before finding his prey and ensuring it couldn't escape, parking the train here would do.
As for whether some greedy fellows might try something?
Well, let them try.
Leaving the platform, he watched through the Light Screen as the dot displayed on the Sand Table was in the nearby area.
Ye Qiyan wasn't in a hurry. He took Lisette around this steampunk-filled English-style metropolis and found a clothing store, where he bought extensively, restocking his wardrobe reserves.
He changed into a very classic noble swindler's outfit.
Meanwhile, Lisette beside him purchased quite a variety of maid outfits, some of which were so strange that Ye Qiyan was genuinely curious how such little material could possibly command such high prices. And was there even enough fabric to actually wear it?
After shopping for clothes, he originally planned to find a few excellent shops and sample this world's cuisine.
But when Ye Qiyan casually glanced at the Sand Table, the dot on it had strangely vanished?
His prey had been hunted by someone else?
No, that shouldn't be.
This was a Level 10 Station World.
Logically speaking, the hunted existence should at minimum be comparable to a Level 10 mech-soldier.
If someone really had beaten him to the kill, how could it be so quiet?
Unless...
"Interesting. Detected the Sand Table's observation and shielded itself?"
Ye Qiyan's interest was piqued, and he wasted no more time, heading directly toward where the dot had originally been to explore.
The Nano-Bee Swarm equipped with bronze Ingenuity artifacts flew out from the Honeycomb Carriage.
Searching throughout this City-State.
Streams of information flowed through the Hive Mind network into the Queen Bee's consciousness for analysis and exploration, ultimately condensed into concise data reports.
People, objects, pets, even special Steam Machinery, none escaped their eyes.
Identification was conducted through the System's appraisal Light Screen.
But, nothing?
The Nano-Bee Swarm had even investigated some corpses lying in alleys, yet still hadn't found that vanished target.
Could the Sand Table have made an error?
This item indeed became less effective as Station World levels increased and enemies grew stronger.
And because it was a derivative item of a train carriage, considered as one entity with the train, but the train's Sublimation hadn't improved it much.
But this time was strange, because a confirmed dot had definitely appeared.
Suddenly, a golden Nano Giant Sting Bee transmitted an image to him.
The image showed an extremely inconspicuous small alley.
Several shop workers were kicking and beating an old man dressed in rags, his face covered in messy stubble, with a head of filthy black hair.
From their tone, it wasn't hard to tell that this dirty beggar had merely picked up a piece of bread a noble young master had discarded, and that had offended these bakery employees.
They felt he didn't deserve to enjoy that piece of bread.
But how was that provoking anyone?
It was just a bunch of human-like creatures finding an excuse to bully someone.
If that were all, this image and information would have been meaningless.
But there was one strange thing.
The moment the Nano Giant Sting Bee appeared, this old beggar noticed their presence.
Though it was only a fleeting glance, as the most special golden Giant Sting Bee among the entire Nano-Bee Swarm, it possessed sharper perception than its kin.
An old beggar, able to notice them?
Wasn't that worth finding strange?
After all, even weaker Train Conductors couldn't notice them. A beggar in a Station World, bullied by anyone who pleased? How?
"Interesting. Let's go take a look."
Following the path's guidance, Ye Qiyan quickly arrived at the alley's location.
He stood at the alley entrance, blocking the dim light from the streetlamp.
Ye Qiyan stood at the intersection of light and shadow. The three bakery workers noticed the movement behind them, and after noticing that expensive attire, their originally arrogant attitude toward the beggar instantly vanished, replaced by a fawning demeanor.
"My lord, he's just a petty thief, stole our bread, we were merely..."
Ye Qiyan casually pulled out three gold coins, precisely tossing them at the feet of all three.
"Get lost."
The three faces lit up with delight. They picked up the gold coins engraved with a pirate skull from the ground and ran off.
They didn't notice that the instant they picked up those coins, the Desire in their hearts was instantly stirred.
["The gold coins are all mine!"]
[Jeff's Cursed Gold Coin (Level 2)]
[Those who obtain Jeff's gold coins will be afflicted by the Curse of the Sea of Abudo]
These were the cursed gold coins Ye Qiyan had obtained at his thirty-third station, [Sea of Abudo]. The level wasn't high, and the curse effect was merely average, but, adding a thread of [Bewitchment] power, it was just perfect~
Ye Qiyan smiled as he looked at the beggar.
The Nano Giant Sting Bee hadn't touched him, but the Imaginary Number Mechanic Snake had broken through the opponent's extremely weak bio-force field.
On the Light Screen, a segment of information surfaced.
