Train Survival: I Can Evolve Everything!

Chapter 900: Rebellious Train Conductors, A City in Uproar

  • Next Chapter

The next morning.

Outside Utopia City's Capsule Tunnel.

A large number of Train Conductors had gathered there, hoping to reclaim their Trains and leave.

The battle last night had terrified those who had been harboring false hopes, thinking that after simply taking the Train Coins, they could act as spectators.

The Top-Tier Train Conductors were far more terrifyingly powerful than they had imagined.

Could those really be things humans were capable of?

Making the moon fall.

Unleashing ten thousand ghosts upon the world.

Starting a terrifying war with nothing but their own strength.

But even so, they still didn't know.

Last night's battle had merely been an appetizer.

Neither Ye Qiyan, nor Achuan, nor Utopia City's side had brought out their true strength.

So wanting to leave Utopia City was indeed the right choice.

It was just that the path to making that choice seemed to have been blocked off.

“Let us in! Give us back our Trains!”

“What right do you have to stop us?”

“We want to leave!”

At the entrance to the Capsule Tunnel, Utopia City's residents stood hand in hand, blocking the Train Conductors' way.

They said nothing, merely greeting everyone with smiles.

Only now did those smiles, which had once made people feel at ease, seem uncanny to the Train Conductors.

Why were they smiling?

Why were these citizens, who were clearly just ordinary humans, here to stop them?

Negative emotions swirled among the Train Conductors.

If their Systems were bound to them, they would be able to open their personal interfaces and see it.

Each person's status bar was filled with different negative emotions.

Irritation, fear, unease...

These negative emotions were being constantly guided and stirred, growing from tiny sparks into blazing flames.

“Fuck! Get out of my way!”

At last, those sparks became a raging fire.

The first enraged Train Conductor drew his gun and shot a citizen dead.

More and more people pulled out their weapons and began slaughtering Utopia City's citizens.

That's right.

Slaughtering them.

The citizens smiled as they welcomed their deaths, offering the Train Conductors their blessings.

“May you find happiness~”

Blood became bright paint, staining every Train Conductor's body and eyes.

But they didn't care.

They only wanted to escape.

[Status: Happiness Blessing]

This was the mental debuff that the boys and girls had stacked hundreds of times on Ye Qiyan last night, but which had failed to take effect.

Happiness, oh, happiness~

Everyone longed to find happiness.

They rushed into the Capsule Tunnel's arena corridor. As long as they got inside, they could find their Trains and escape the city.

But...

“Shh~ Everyone, let's be quiet.”

A figure blocked their way.

A handsome boy who looked only twelve or thirteen sat at the final entrance, holding a silver-white scepter.

“Where is everyone going?”

His childish voice echoed through the half-enclosed space.

His tiny body stood in their way, yet he showed not the slightest fear of the Train Conductors, whose eyes were bloodshot from killing.

“Get out of the way! Let me through!”

The first Train Conductor, holding a cleaver, charged at him. His mind, thrown into confusion by the mental influence, didn't even stop to think: whoever could block the way here couldn't possibly be an ordinary person.

“No.”

The boy's smile was dazzling.

He gently turned his scepter, and an invisible force washed over everyone's bodies.

“Your path is behind you. You will be the first lucky ones in a happy Utopia. Now~ go back. Everyone blessed with happiness is sure to be happy~”

The person at the front turned into a cloud of blood.

The person behind him was instantly drenched in cold sweat.

What kind of power was that?

It was impossible to understand!

This little boy was definitely a Train Conductor far more powerful than them!

The Train Conductors' minds were struck again and again.

Gradually, their faces began to wear the same smiles as Utopia City's citizens.

But not everyone was completely incapable of resisting.

“No, no! I don't want to stay here! I want to leave! I want to leave! I'm a Train Conductor with a talent! How can I stop here?”

Someone broke free of the mental influence and took out a treasured item, hoping to use their own abilities to race behind the little boy.

As long as they inserted the Capsule Tunnel Key into that device, they could board their Train and leave.

“Hmm... This batch of Train Conductors really is pretty good.”

The boy sighed.

“Having a talent is like having a stronger mind or body. Sigh, I was afraid the mental shock would scare you all to death, so I held back some of my power. What a pity~ With your talent, you could have had a better life in the Utopia of the future.”

He struck the ground with his scepter.

Just before reaching the tunnel transfer device, the person with the talent who had run behind him also turned into a cloud of blood, leaving nothing behind.

“I know there are still people with talents among you, but don't think too highly of yourselves. So what if this is the Golden Age?

“Until you've grown stronger,

“you are still weaklings, and fools.

“You came all this way for a mere ten Train Coins.

“Hmph, utterly stupid.

“Only by entering Lord Heinz's Utopia can people like you have a chance of surviving in the Wasteland.

“So,

“Be happy~ Be grateful~!”

Similar things were happening at the various Capsule Tunnel entrances.

Utopia City's powerful figures had gathered the Train Conductors who had come to the city for ten Train Coins, and completely barred them from leaving.

Some tried to resist.

Their only fate was death.

Whether they had talents or were ordinary Train Conductors,

they were all the same in the eyes of the powerful figures.

————

It was still the same hotel, and still the same room.

Dressed as a vampire noble, Ye Qiyan ate fries dipped in ketchup as he watched the chaos below through the enormous floor-to-ceiling window.

The city was no longer anything like it had been a few days earlier.

The Train Conductors smashed, looted, and burned, doing whatever they pleased.

Unable to leave, and afraid to gather together for a futile resistance, some could only start rioting in the city.

The citizens wouldn't fight back, and no one was going to manage them.

It was as if a giant hand was deliberately letting them unleash chaos in the city and spread suffering.

“Sigh, they shouldn't have come here.”

Achuan stood beside him and shook his head with a sigh.

“Nothing in the Wasteland is free... Even a piece of information comes with a debt of Karma...”

He hadn't stepped in to help those Train Conductors.

Achuan was kind, but he wasn't a bleeding heart, and he wasn't going to save just anyone.

Most of the Train Conductors who had come here were only Level Four to Level Seven or Eight. They hadn't even unlocked the Level Ten upgrade shop for the first time.

In truth, there wasn't much difference between them and ordinary people, except that they had more weapons.

[Beep beep—]

A sound came from the private chat interface.

Mo Shi: “Senior Ye Qiyan, do you have time to meet with your junior? It's really scary out here.”
