Chapter 479: Only for a Better Self

Evan Fairchild was already at the door, but his brother couldn’t resist adding, "You can’t understand how I feel right now. Wait until you have a child of your own—then you’ll realize how hard it is to be a father!"

Evan Fairchild didn’t respond. He simply pulled open the door and walked out.

’He knew all too well what it was like to be a dad.’

’But aside from being a bit difficult, Ian Monroe was quite clever. There was no need to worry about his studies at all. He’d probably master the entire elementary school curriculum before he even turned seven.’

Melody Monroe and Ian Monroe had already had their baths and were now in the living room, playing with Bunny.

As Evan Fairchild walked into the house, he was greeted by the heartwarming scene.

Hearing footsteps, Melody Monroe glanced back over her shoulder, still holding Bunny in her arms.

"You’re back?"

"Yeah."

"Where did you go? I thought you’d be gone for a while." Melody Monroe set Bunny down and walked over to Evan Fairchild.

’When Evan Fairchild left earlier, it seemed like something major had happened.’

"My older brother was in town, so I went to see him."

"Your brother is here in Rockwellburg?"

"He leaves tomorrow."

"Oh. Why didn’t you spend a little more time with him?"

"What’s there to keep him company for? Have you finished your studying?"

"Not yet." Melody Monroe immediately shook her head.

"We’re going back to Jansburg the day after tomorrow. Once filming for *Rise and Fall* begins, you’ll be incredibly busy. You won’t have any time to study then."

"I’ll go to the study right away."

The two of them headed upstairs, one after the other. Ian Monroe hugged Bunny, the smile on his small face slowly fading. ’Now that Mom’s gone, I’m all alone. This is so boring.’

’When will Mom ever have time to just be with me?’

’Mom’s time is always taken up by either work or Dad.’

’Mom is starting to like Dad now, too. It’s just like I thought. Dad is definitely going to steal Mom away from me!’

"Bunny, tell me... how do I get Mom back?"

Bunny replied with two little grunts.

When Melody Monroe entered the study, she found a set of comprehensive review materials already laid out on the desk. She picked them up, her face lighting up with joy.

"With these, your studying will be much more focused. You already have a great foundation. If you review this thoroughly, you’ll definitely get in."

"I think so too! I can definitely do it!"

Melody Monroe hadn’t expected Evan Fairchild to be so supportive and encouraging about her taking the college entrance exam. His approval filled her with renewed strength.

’You can do this, Melody! For a better you. To be someone more worthy of Evan Fairchild!’

After nearly a month of preparations, the production team set a date to begin filming.

The full cast was also in place.

Melody Monroe was cast as the female lead, the Princess of Solara; Shaun Owen as General Angus Seymour; veteran actor Ben Hubbard as the King of Veridia; Zane Langdon as the King of Cygnus; and Jenson Yates as Emperor Javian.

Yvonne Lewis was cast as the Queen of Veridia, Nana Owen as the Princess of Veridia, and Cynthia Jacobs as the daughter of the Prime Minister of Cygnus.

Shaun Owen and Jenson Yates had more significant roles.

The director also arranged fairly important roles for the others.

Just as Keith Coleman had said, Director Walsh’s casting decisions had certainly shown Melody Monroe a great deal of respect.

After all, Melody Monroe was the one who had secured the show’s sponsorship. Without her, why would President Fairchild have ever invested? Evan Fairchild was a veritable cash cow, meaning they had no need to worry about funding.

"Director Walsh," his assistant reported, "Melody Monroe just called to say she’s already arrived in Jansburg."

"Melody Monroe is here already?" Director Walsh sounded surprised.

Even though the commencement ceremony date was set, many of the other actors hadn’t arrived yet. Melody Monroe had actually shown up earlier than some of the supporting cast.
