Chapter 485: Who Else?

’Impossible. Evan Fairchild is still in Rockwellburg. He’s been very busy lately; otherwise, he definitely would have come to Jansburg with her.’

"You just charmed the soul right out of me. Didn’t you see that wisp of my spirit I lost? It’s hovering around you," Evan Fairchild texted back.

And it was a voice message.

Melody Monroe quickly yanked off her headphones. ’This is too much. It’s just too much!’

Her ears were bright red.

"You scared me! I really thought you had come to Jansburg!"

"Once I’m done with my work, I’ll come to Jansburg to be with you."

"Okay," Melody Monroe replied with an emoji.

"Have you eaten yet?"

"I just got a call from Jasper Rockwell. He’s already in Jansburg. Once Mr. Langdon is done, we’re all going to get a meal together."

’Zane Langdon again!’ Evan Fairchild’s senses tingled. The way Zane Langdon looked at Melody Monroe wasn’t right. It was a man’s sharp intuition for a rival.

Melody Monroe stared at her phone, waiting for Evan Fairchild’s reply.

"Be back before nine-thirty. Absolutely no drinking. If you’re any later than that, you won’t be allowed to go out to dinner with anyone in the future."

"Okay, hubby," Melody Monroe replied instantly, adding a very well-behaved emoji.

"Melody, why haven’t you left yet?" Zane Langdon’s voice rang out. He was a little surprised to see that she was still there.

Melody Monroe put down her phone. "I was waiting for you. You worked so late, we should go eat together!"

Zane Langdon froze. ’Melody Monroe was actually waiting for him, and she wanted to go to dinner together?’

Sean Coleman immediately glanced at Zane Langdon and noticed the smile in his eyes. ’Sigh...’ He let out a soft sigh.

"Where are we going? What are we eating?"

"How about some Chinese food? There’s a place nearby called Arcadia Residences. The food is great, and the atmosphere is nice and quiet."

"I know that restaurant."

"Then let’s meet at the restaurant. I’ll head over first," Melody Monroe said, then walked out.

Winter Kane was already waiting outside with the van.

The moment Melody Monroe got in the car, she sent a message to Jasper Rockwell with the location for dinner.

Zane Langdon and Sean Coleman walked out, watching Melody’s car as it drove off.

"Maybe Nola and I shouldn’t go? You can just drive over by yourself."

"No, let’s all go together," Zane Langdon said quietly. "There’s no way she only invited me. We all worked late, so it must be a group dinner."

"Nola, go bring the car around," Sean Coleman instructed Nola Hughes. He also breathed a sigh of relief.

’It seems Zane Langdon is still being rational. Melody Monroe is already spoken for.’

’This romance—no, it can only be considered a crush—will never lead to anything.’

By the time Zane Langdon arrived, Melody Monroe had already secured a private room.

As they walked in, Sean Coleman saw that Talia Mercer and Winter Kane were there too. ’It’s a good thing Nola and I came along, or this would have been incredibly awkward for Zane.’

After they were all seated, there were still two empty seats, and Melody Monroe had asked the waiter to leave the place settings.

"Is someone else coming?" Zane Langdon asked.

"Keith Coleman is on his way," Melody Monroe replied softly. She didn’t mention Jasper Rockwell. Jasper was one of them now, so she assumed they knew he was coming.

"Just Keith Coleman?" Zane Langdon asked.

"And..."

"I’m here!" Jasper Rockwell pushed the door open and strode in.

Zane Langdon’s expression instantly stiffened.

Jasper Rockwell immediately looked at Zane Langdon, walked straight over, and pulled Nola Hughes, who was sitting next to Zane, to his feet.

"You sit over there."

Nola Hughes immediately vacated the seat.

Before, he hadn’t known Jasper Rockwell’s identity. It was only after this recent friendly racing competition that he learned Jasper was actually the Third Young Master of the Rockwell Family!
