Rose Shaw listened in silence.

"After I have my baby, I’ll make sure to find someone great for you. He has to have a good family background and be a good person. Someone like you, with President Sterling and me backing you up... if you don’t marry into a top-tier family, you should at least marry a rich heir."

"There’s no need. I’m not thinking about getting married right now," Rose Shaw immediately refused.

After what happened with Felix Hughes, she had come to terms with things.

’Some matters can’t be forced. Christopher Sterling has been married for some time, and his child will be born soon. There’s nothing I can’t accept. Being with Felix was just an escape, a way to run from the fear that I would lose control. But now, I’m not so scared anymore.’

"I... I have a meeting today. We have to discuss something important, and I can’t reschedule," Rose Shaw demurred.

"Oh, is that so? We’ll just have to reschedule then. To be honest, I’m here today about Eileen Scott. Regarding what happened last time, she’s already apologized, and things have cooled down for a while. The media storm should have blown over, right?"

"I’ll arrange for some potential roles. We’re currently preparing a new drama, so she can come and audition."

"Is it the female lead?" Eileen Scott immediately chimed in.

"No matter how you look at it, Eileen just isn’t quite ready for a lead role."

"Tiana Gable is a newcomer too, isn’t she? So she’s perfect in every way? You won’t even give me a chance, so how do you know I can’t be the female lead? Rose, you should take a good look at who’s sitting right in front of you! That’s my sister! She’s the wife of the president of Stellaris! She’s pregnant, and my brother-in-law is worried she’ll get tired. If not for that, who do you think would be running this company? Would it be you?" Eileen Scott unleashed a torrent of accusations at Rose.

"Rose, do you have some personal vendetta against me? I refuse to believe Eileen wouldn’t do a good job with you personally supervising her. Or do you feel like you have to stomp on my pride just to prove you have some power at Stellaris?"

"Mrs. Sterling, I have my principles when it comes to my work. If Eileen is willing, I can arrange an audition. If she isn’t willing to participate, we’ll just have to find another actress."

"Rose Shaw! Who the hell do you think you are?!" Eileen Scott shot to her feet, pointing a finger at Rose.

Lana Sheffield suddenly shot up and swung her hand at Rose’s face!

Rose quickly grabbed Lana’s wrist, stopping the slap just before it hit her cheek.

"Mrs. Sterling, even if you’re the boss’s wife, you have no right to insult me like this."

"Me, insult you? You think far too highly of yourself. Who do you think you are? Rose, don’t think for a second I don’t know about your past! Why can’t you have children? What’s the real reason you can’t conceive? And you still dare to put on this pure and noble act in front of me!"

The color drained from Rose’s face, and she unconsciously tightened her grip on Lana’s wrist.

"Rose! My hand!" Lana cried out in pain.
