Transmigrated as The Best Female Character of the Year
Chapter 522: Carrying a Weapon...
"Melody Monroe, we’re your fans! We just came to watch you film, but they’re being so unreasonable, constantly trying to drive us away."
"First of all, I’m very grateful for your love and support. But please understand, your actions are disrupting the production crew’s work. This behavior is causing a great deal of trouble for the crew and for me, and it’s interfering with the shoot."
"We’re only here to see you because we like you! If we didn’t like and support you, who would travel all this way just to see you?" one person retorted defiantly.
"Do you really like and support me? If this is your way of showing support, then I’d rather you didn’t support me at all. You’re all so young. You could be using this time to do something more meaningful."
"Melody Monroe! How could you treat your own fans this way?"
"Don’t try to twist things. You aren’t my fans. And you—the one filming—do me a favor and look over in that direction."
The person looked in the direction Melody Monroe was pointing and was startled to see a camera aimed right at them.
"Why are you all wearing masks? Do you dare take them off and show your faces to the camera?"
The group immediately turned away, clearly trying to avoid the camera.
"You can film me, which means I can film you. If I see you again, I’m calling the police immediately. I absolutely will not be this polite next time."
The group left at once.
Melody Monroe kept her eyes fixed on the person with a hand hidden in their sleeve. She had a feeling they were hiding a knife.
’They were trying to cause a scene, and they were even carrying a weapon... This whole situation looks like it was deliberately orchestrated by someone behind the scenes.’
’No matter what happened, it would involve the production crew and "her fans," which meant it would all be tied to her. She bore an undeniable responsibility.’
Over the past few days, videos about her had been popping up on all the major streaming platforms. They were supposedly from her fans, but they were hyping her up to an absurd degree.
They were building her up for a fall.
Her public image had never been great to begin with. Overexposure and negative press were surefire ways to ruin what little goodwill she had with the general public.
’They only left today because I had the camera turned on them. They probably won’t let this go so easily. I have to get this situation under control before it blows up, and I need to find whoever is pulling the strings.’
Keith Coleman rushed to the set as soon as he got the message. He understood the situation the moment Melody Monroe finished explaining.
"I’ll handle this. Wait to hear from me."
"Okay." Melody Monroe nodded.
Keith Coleman drove to a bar.
It was broad daylight, so the bar wasn’t open for business. But as soon as they saw it was him, the door was opened immediately.
"Keith, what brings you here in person? You could’ve just given me a call if you needed something."
"Huey, I need you to look into some people for me. I need to know everything about them, including their whereabouts, by the end of the day." Keith Coleman had already identified a few key individuals from the video Melody Monroe gave him.
He had gotten his hands on the studio’s surveillance footage and found the suspects. The cameras had caught them without their masks on.
Keith Coleman went into a private room, placed his laptop on the table, and opened a video. He took a few screenshots and sent them to Huey’s phone.
Huey looked at the screenshots and nodded. "Alright, I’ll get on it right away."
"Also, get a few guys ready for me."
"You got it!"
