Chapter 529: Isn’t Being Single Happy?

  • Next Chapter

"You little pig, why are you copying me?"

"I’m not copying you. You’re the one who’s just like Bunny," Ian Monroe’s voice suddenly rang out.

"I’m like a pig? He’s the one who’s like me, alright! Wait, no, I’m not saying the pig is like me, and I’m not like a pig. We’re nothing alike! That’s not it, I have nothing to do with any pigs!"

"Why are you here? My parents are out."

"Your dad?" The word seemed to hit a nerve with Jasper Rockwell. "Is your dad Evan Fairchild?"

Ian Monroe gave a very reluctant nod.

Jasper Rockwell’s eyes flew wide, and the lollipop dropped from his mouth in shock.

He sized Ian Monroe up again and swallowed hard. ’This kid really looks just like Evan Fairchild!’

’It wasn’t that his features were a carbon copy, but his whole aura was identical! He’s the spitting image of Evan Fairchild as a kid!’

’How did I not notice this the first time I met him?’

’And Evan Fairchild? When did *he* find out?’

’Damn! What incredible drama have I missed!’

’And another thing! Evan Fairchild went and got married behind my back, and he even has a son this old!’

"Are you sure he’s his biological kid? Has there been a test?" Jasper Rockwell couldn’t resist saying.

Ian Monroe’s brow furrowed for a moment, then he smiled. "My parents should be back soon. Why don’t you come in and have a seat?"

’Wow, what an attitude change! A thousand times better than a minute ago!’

He immediately headed inside. The moment he saw the decor, he was stunned. ’Evan Fairchild really has changed. Getting a wife turned him into a completely different person!’

’Just like Shawn Fisher!’

’What is wrong with all these tycoons?’

’Isn’t being single fun?’

When Melody Monroe and Evan Fairchild drove up, they saw Jasper Rockwell’s car parked in the yard.

"How did he find this place?" Evan Fairchild’s face was filled with undisguised disdain.

"I told him."

"He was pestering you, wasn’t he?"

"Pretty much. I get the feeling that with Jasper... some things about him aren’t exactly clear-cut."

"They’re perfectly clear."

"Huh?"

"He’s exactly what you think he is."

Melody Monroe’s mind went blank. ’Evan Fairchild knew about this?’

’What I think he is?’ She looked up at Evan Fairchild, her thoughts in a total jumble.

"Really? In that case, has he ever... hit on you?"

Evan Fairchild’s gaze instantly darkened.

"Don’t you even dare! I’ll kill him!"

"Are you pulling my leg? I just think Jasper is a bit effeminate, but that doesn’t have to mean..."

"Keith Coleman says there’s a ninety percent chance."

"Then that means it’s not a sure thing!"

"Just because it’s not now, doesn’t mean it won’t be in the future."

Looking at Evan Fairchild’s expression, Melody Monroe couldn’t help but laugh. "Just how much do you hate Jasper Rockwell, to throw so much shade on him!"

Evan Fairchild smiled, pulling Melody Monroe into his arms as they walked toward the house.

"Mr. Fairchild, you’re definitely jealous. I can’t believe you’re even jealous of Jasper Rockwell. When I’m with him, it’s like we’re best girlfriends."

"Which is why the probability of him getting ’bent’ is likely over ninety-five percent."

"Keep your voice down! Don’t let him hear you," Melody Monroe said, lightly swatting Evan Fairchild.

Evan Fairchild suddenly leaned close to her. "Go do your homework when we get back inside."

"But... Jasper Rockwell is our guest."

"I mean, you go do your homework. I’ll kick him out—no mercy—so he stops bothering you."

Melody Monroe blushed.

’Oh, so that’s what he meant.’

"As for the ’homework’ *you* were thinking of..."
