"There," Asher Archer said as he straightened up. He glanced in the mirror and gave a satisfied nod.

He was a perfectionist. You could see it in the way he’d styled Melody Monroe’s hair, attending to every last strand with the utmost care.

Melody Monroe felt like a mannequin in a shop window.

After being styled by Asher Archer, she hardly dared to breathe, afraid she might ruin the beautiful look he had so carefully crafted.

"You have three gowns in total. The one you’re wearing now is for the red carpet. There’s another for the awards ceremony itself, and a third for the evening gala."

"I have to change that many times? Will there be enough time?"

"No. I’ll be there with my team," Asher Archer replied. A veteran of such events, he calmly packed his things as he answered her.

Seeing his calm demeanor, Melody Monroe relaxed.

The gown she was wearing was pure white and very conservative, not even revealing her shoulders. It was a mermaid-style dress that perfectly showcased her figure. A layer of tulle attached at the small of her back added a touch of ethereal, flowing grace.

Pure white gowns are a rare choice, as they can easily turn into a fashion disaster.

But Melody Monroe’s skin was milky-white and dewy, her lips a true, classic red. She projected an aura of cool, stunning beauty, her presence completely commanding.

"I suspect all the other actresses will be keeping their distance from you today."

Melody Monroe shrugged. ’With a face like this, its original owner was destined to be friendless. It’s a weapon, and a devastatingly effective one at that.’

She glanced at her reflection again, marveling to herself. ’So this is what it’s like to have a face people are jealous of.’

In fact, seeing this face every day, she had almost forgotten what she used to look like.

"It’s about time. Let’s go."

Meanwhile, the International Sports Center, venue for the Golden Award ceremony, was already packed with people.

Two rows of barriers lined the sides of the red carpet. Security guards in black suits stood at one-meter intervals. Behind them were the media, who had been queuing since early in the day to get a good spot.

And behind them were the enthusiastic fans...

The moment Melody Monroe stepped out of the car, she was met with a magnificent scene. As far as the eye could see, there was a sea of people, a vast ocean with no end in sight.

A staff member walked over to them.

"Miss Monroe, please head this way."

"Thank you."

"You’re welcome."

Following the staff member’s directions, Melody Monroe made her way forward.

The red carpet itself was also crowded, with camera flashes flickering nonstop, like a sea of stars.

The sight made Melody Monroe freeze for a moment. It all felt completely unreal.

Suddenly, she spotted a familiar figure in the crowd.

Dressed in a familiar black suit, he stood tall and straight, distinguished even amidst the crowd.

A number of actresses were gathered around Evan Fairchild.

Many of the artists attending the gala today were from Starfall.

It was rare to get a glimpse of the president at the company, so running into him here, they were naturally eager to make their presence known.

Some had even privately inquired about Evan Fairchild’s arrival time and were deliberately waiting here for him.

Even some who weren’t from Starfall flocked to him the moment they saw him.

Evan Fairchild’s expression was impassive. On closer inspection, however, one could see that no one was actually getting close to him. They all remained about a step away.

"President Fairchild, hello. My name is Lois Hughes. It’s such a pleasure to meet you."

"How much of a pleasure?"

Lois Hughes froze, her face filled with embarrassment.

Those standing nearby couldn’t help but cover their mouths to stifle their snickers.

She truly had no sense of her own limits, daring to approach him without considering her own status.
