Chapter 581: Angering President Fairchild to Death Is Just Around the Corner
’I’m so touched, I just want to throw myself into his arms right now.’
"That’s not it! That’s not it!" Yasmine Scott shrieked like a madwoman. "Dad, why are you lying!"
Jedediah Scott grabbed his daughter. "Miss Monroe, I’ll be frank. My daughter was diagnosed with some mental health issues a long time ago. We were afraid of hurting or upsetting her, so we never dared to tell her the truth. Her mental state has been poor recently, and I’ve already made arrangements. I hope you can find it in your heart to be lenient. I am willing to take full responsibility for everything she’s done."
"Come in!" Jedediah Scott called out sharply.
At his call, several doctors and nurses in white coats walked in. The words printed on their chests read: Jansburg Psychiatric Hospital.
Good heavens! So Yasmine Scott really did have a mental illness!
The crowd stared, stunned by the scene.
"I’m not! I’m not sick! I wasn’t lying! Everything I said is true!" Yasmine Scott screamed.
One of the doctors immediately stepped forward, restrained Yasmine Scott, and dragged her away.
"I’m so sorry," Jedediah Scott apologized to Melody Monroe once more.
Melody Monroe took a deep breath. "The lengths a parent will go to for their child... Let’s just drop the matter. I won’t press charges against Yasmine Scott."
"Thank you." Jedediah Scott breathed a sigh of relief. "In that case, I’ll take my leave."
After Jedediah Scott left, the whole farce finally came to an end.
And with that, the truth had come to light.
"Does anyone else have any questions?" Melody Monroe asked the reporters.
No one in the room uttered a word.
"Since there are no more questions, I’d like to take this opportunity to make an announcement. Rose Shaw has left Stellaris. As of today, she is the general manager of my studio and will be in charge of all its affairs."
Rose Shaw walked out from a side room and bowed to the reporters. "I’m still the same Rose Shaw, and I look forward to working closely with all of you in the future."
The announcement was met with a round of enthusiastic applause.
Keith Coleman stepped forward and addressed the crowd. "It’s getting late, so I’ve arranged a lavish buffet for you all in the hotel’s second-floor restaurant. We welcome you to join us."
The reporters were taken aback again. How thoughtful—they were even providing a meal.
When they arrived at the second-floor restaurant, its luxurious decor left them all stunned.
Melody Monroe hadn’t known about the restaurant arrangements in advance.
There was also a sign in the restaurant.
It explained that the day after tomorrow was Ian Monroe’s fourth birthday, and this was an early celebration with the media. The meal was, in effect, a birthday party—even though Ian and Melody Monroe themselves were not present.
Melody Monroe and Ian Monroe left together. The moment they stepped out of the elevator in the underground garage, they saw Evan Fairchild waiting for them with a huge bouquet of flowers.
Keith Coleman, quick on the uptake, immediately gave Rose Shaw a subtle tug.
"Ian, how would you like to go see your mom’s studio? Uncle Keith and Auntie Rose can take you, okay?"
"Sure!" Ian Monroe nodded immediately.
He really did want to go have a look, so even though he knew Keith Coleman was just trying to get him out of the way, he agreed.
A hint of a smile immediately touched Evan Fairchild’s eyes.
Now, it was time for the two of them to be alone.
"Uncle Keith, in the future, can I go visit Mom on set while she’s filming?"
"Of course. That’s called a ’set visit.’"
"Right! And only I get to visit her on set," Ian Monroe remarked casually.
He wasn’t saying it to anyone in particular; it was as if he were talking to himself.
Keith Coleman rubbed his nose, fighting the urge to laugh. Rose Shaw also froze for a second, then looked at Ian Monroe with amusement in her eyes.
’Attaboy, Mr. Fairchild! At this rate, it won’t be long before he gives President Fairchild a heart attack!’
