Transmigrated as The Best Female Character of the Year
Chapter 583: The Mysteriously Confident Mr. Fairchild
Melody Monroe rolled over and cupped his cheeks. "Just a little longer. After I finish filming this show, I’ll take a break and we can have a baby."
"Do you know what you look like right now?"
Melody tucked a strand of her dark hair back, raising an eyebrow slightly as she asked with a smile, "What do I look like?"
"A siren!"
...
"Mom, Dad, I’m home!"
The sound of Ian Monroe’s footsteps echoed from outside the door.
Melody was startled.
"Don’t worry, the door’s locked."
Ian Monroe pushed the door, but it was locked! Again!
’From now on, when Mom and I do homework in the study, I’m going to lock the door too!’
’Hmph!’
Melody, dressed in pajamas with a robe thrown over them, came out and shut the door directly behind her. She didn’t dare open it; the atmosphere in the room was... indescribable.
"Mom, I brought back a ton of presents."
"What presents?"
"The ones that were sent to your studio. They said they’re birthday presents for Ian. Do they all know me? Why did they send me so many gifts?"
Melody took her son’s hand and led him toward the study.
She sat on the sofa and hugged her son. "Ian, being an actor is a job, but it’s different from other jobs. You’re a public figure, exposed to everyone’s gaze. Some people will like you, and some will dislike you. That’s completely normal. Now, you’ve been pushed into the spotlight too, which is what I always worried about. I was afraid it would affect your normal life."
"Mom, I don’t think it’s a big deal. Some people will like me, some will hate me... you don’t have to worry about any of that. You just have to be yourself."
Melody froze, then hugged her son tightly. "Ian is right. You just have to be yourself."
"Since I received so many gifts, shouldn’t I thank them?"
"On your birthday, Mommy will record a video for you, and you can express your gratitude to everyone who likes you, okay?"
"Okay." Ian Monroe nodded.
’Sometimes, Evan Fairchild’s calmness isn’t a lack of concern,’ Melody thought. ’He probably understands Ian better than I do. All my worries were for nothing.’
’How could someone as opinionated as Ian be so easily influenced?’
"Just now, your father and I were discussing something."
"What?"
"Would Ian like to have a little brother or a little sister?" Melody wanted to ask for Ian’s opinion. If he was strongly against it...
...she might consider dropping the idea.
She loved Ian, loved him deeply.
Ian Monroe nodded quickly. "I’m okay with a brother or a sister. If... if it’s not too hard for you, Mom, could you have a few more?"
"A few more?"
"More helpers," Ian Monroe said very seriously.
’More helpers?’ Evan Fairchild was standing right outside the study door.
’Is this kid trying to form an alliance to usurp my position? What’s this, are they planning to team up and kick me out of the house?!’
’Childish!’
Right now, Mr. Fairchild was brimming with a mysterious confidence.
But when he was holding his newborn baby, he’d wish he could stuff it right back in!
...
Lana Sheffield looked at Wayne Payne and Eileen Scott standing before her and let out a heavy sigh.
"It’s completely over. We can’t stir up any more trouble. Melody Monroe saved her reputation, and on top of that, she used this incident to gain millions of new followers and win an award. I’m afraid her fame is unstoppable now."
Eileen Scott clenched her fists secretly. "Is there really no other way?"
"She has Evan Fairchild backing her. Even if the affair with Jedediah Scott was real, would Jedediah dare to say anything now? Besides, this incident ended up saving Melody’s reputation and letting Jedediah save face. Why wouldn’t they go along with it?"
