Chapter 591: The Thoughtful Little Vest

  • Next Chapter

Keith Coleman was playing a game with his legs crossed when he suddenly felt something was off. He looked up, his eyes meeting Ian Monroe’s, and a chill instantly shot through him.

That intimidating glare was no less potent than one from Fairchild.

“Ian, what’s wrong?” he put his phone down and asked meekly.

‘Was it because I was so busy playing my game that I neglected our little boss?’

“Can you stop scheduling so many things? My mom is so busy every day, she has no time to rest.”

Keith Coleman: …

“Trust me, this is the most reasonable schedule possible. You have no idea how busy other celebrities are. Someone as popular as Melody would be run off her feet! Getting a few hours of sleep on a plane each day would be considered a luxury.”

Ian Monroe: …

“But things will ease up soon. Filming for Rise and Fall is finished, and she hasn’t accepted any new roles. Melody is going to focus on studying for her exams.”

Upon hearing this, Ian Monroe’s grim expression softened slightly.

He checked the time. His mom had been inside for twenty minutes and still hadn’t emerged. He opened a compartment in front of him, took out a cup of hot milk, and got out of the car. He walked toward the room his mother had just entered.

“One last question: has her next role been confirmed? Could you give us any details?”

“I can give you a straight answer on that. For now, there are no plans for me to take on a new role.”

“No plans to take on a new role?” the interviewer asked, looking confused.

Ian Monroe walked forward, a cup of milk in one hand and the other in his pants pocket. Still in his slippers, he placed the milk on the table in front of his mom.

‘Why is this room as cold as an icebox?’

‘The heat isn’t even on.’

The moment they saw Ian Monroe walk over, the person who was about to turn off the camera immediately stopped, aiming the lens at Ian and Melody Monroe.

Interviewing Melody Monroe was already a stroke of luck; getting to film Ian Monroe and Melody Monroe in the same frame was an unexpected bonus.

Ian Monroe turned to face the person who had just asked the question. “Wasn’t that supposed to be the last question?” For someone so small, his presence was incredibly imposing!

The group of adults facing him were all intimidated.

“Right, right. That was indeed the last question.”

“My schedule will be released by the studio later. Thank you for your time,” Melody Monroe said, standing up and cradling the cup of milk.

“The interview is over,” Miller said, immediately stepping forward and gesturing for them to leave.

Although the main camera was turned off, some people were still recording with their phones. Melody Monroe’s assistant didn’t stop them, implying that this footage was cleared for release.

Seeing the crew dawdling, Ian Monroe simply took his mom’s hand and led her away first.

Jansburg had another spring snow a few days ago, and the temperature had plummeted again. Even though the sun was out, it offered about as much warmth as the light in a refrigerator.

Melody Monroe had been filming for hours. No matter how thick her costume was, it offered little protection from the cold. Even with heating equipment on set, she was still frozen stiff.

Once they were in the motorhome, Ian Monroe immediately cranked the heat to its highest setting. As Melody Monroe sat down, the little guy instantly crouched down to take off his mom’s shoes.

He felt his mom’s feet and found them ice-cold. He quickly grabbed a blanket and tucked it around her.

“Mom, are you still cold?”

“I’m not cold anymore. My heart feels so warm now,” Melody Monroe said, pinching Ian’s cheek. Her little Ian was like a cashmere vest—so much more comforting and precious than a simple padded jacket.
