Lorcan gently pinched Oisín’s earlobe, like a mischievous child who had finally gotten hold of a toy he had wanted for a long time.

"How does it feel? Isn’t it almost too much for you?"

Oisín couldn’t answer.

He desperately wanted Lorcan to stop, but tears had gathered in his eyes, making it difficult to read his expression.

Lorcan sighed.

"You’re so beautiful, Oisín. Sometimes I can hardly control myself. Be good, won’t you? If you behave, I’ll give you what you want."

Oisín tried to speak, but his lips only parted slightly. No words came out.

Looking at the dishevelled general, Lorcan complained silently about the situation. Nevertheless, he continued delivering his lines. His dark eyes remained fixed on Oisín, and he wore the proud, spoiled expression expected of the Third Prince.

"General, I believe you already know what you’re supposed to do, don’t you?"

"I... I know," Oisín stammered, his eyes shining with tears. "Please... stop..."

Lorcan was caught off guard.

According to the novel, Oisín was extremely proud. He wasn’t supposed to give in so quickly. In the original story, the general resisted for a long time, even biting his own wrist until it bled while fighting the drug’s influence. Eventually, the Third Prince became impatient and took matters into his own hands.

But Oisín’s reaction made things easier for Lorcan.

One of the effects of pheromone addiction was an intense craving for pheromones. Without them, the person would experience terrible discomfort and repeatedly beg for relief.

By now, Lorcan had delivered all the lines that were meant to be heard by anyone listening. He removed his shirt and tossed it onto the floor.

"As you wish," he said calmly.

Then he deliberately stepped on the listening device.

*The scene is supposed to begin now. It wouldn’t be strange for someone to accidentally step on clothes lying on the floor while climbing into bed, would it?*

At exactly the right moment, System 66 spoke.

"The main circuit has been damaged. The listening device is no longer working."

The System’s small screen briefly scanned the two people on the bed. It then decided not to disturb them.

"Host, enjoy yourself."

With that, it shut down and went offline.

Lorcan leaned closer.

Oisín moved toward him as well, his lips already parted. The excessive pheromones had made it difficult for him to control himself.

This kiss was different from the earlier one. It was much more intense. Lorcan slipped his fingers into Oisín’s silver hair and gently tilted his head to deepen the kiss. Their tongues met, and their lips moved together. Oisín made a soft, distressed sound that Lorcan could feel against his mouth.

The citrus fragrance seemed to grow even stronger, surrounding them completely.

When they finally separated to catch their breath, Lorcan still didn’t stop.

He kissed Oisín’s hairline, lingering there until the general shivered. Then he moved to his cheekbones, leaving slow kisses against his skin. He kissed the corners of Oisín’s blue eyes, where tears had gathered, before moving to the tip of his nose and the soft area beneath it.

His kisses continued along Oisín’s throat and down to the hollow near his collarbone.

Some were gentle brushes of his lips, while others lingered long enough to leave the skin warm and flushed. Each one was deliberate, as though Lorcan wanted to remember every part of him.

Oisín tightened his arm around Lorcan’s neck.

"Your Highness..."

His voice was unsteady.

Lorcan answered by kissing him again. He continued placing kisses wherever he could reach, while the pheromones kept Oisín trembling beneath him.

There was no harshness in his movements. Instead, his attention was almost tender, as though he were treating something precious. His kisses lingered and returned repeatedly to the same places, leaving Oisín’s lips red and his body weak with sensation.

...

By the time everything ended, Oisín could barely raise his hand.

The previous time had been different. Back then, he had truly been suffering from an extreme craving and had not been thinking clearly. This time, however, the overwhelming reaction had been caused by Lorcan releasing too many pheromones. Since Oisín had already passed through his first marking period, he had remained aware of everything that happened.

It was nothing like the frightening stories people told about such encounters. Lorcan hadn’t hurt him or treated him roughly.

Whatever the Third Prince’s intentions were, whether he simply regarded Oisín as a favourite possession or had some other feelings, the general could tell that he was being treated with unusual tenderness.

But why?

Oisín had used underhanded schemes against the Third Prince. He had even used the Collins Family’s wealth as bait. He had been prepared to take the addictive drug in exchange for one year of freedom, allowing him to finish his unfinished business before eventually dying.

Until now, everything had followed the path he had planned.

Everything except the Third Prince.

Lorcan was the one unexpected variable.

*

The banquet was almost over when the butler knocked on Lorcan’s door.

Lorcan changed his clothes and returned to the guests to deliver the closing speech. System 66 had restarted and displayed the prepared script for him. Lorcan simply followed the lines on the screen.

When he finished, the guests applauded. All the presents given to the Third Prince were carefully recorded and collected into a thick book.

Normally, the Emperor would attend a prince’s coming-of-age celebration and give a speech. However, his health had become so poor that he could no longer leave his bed. He had sent gifts instead, without attending the banquet.

As midnight approached, the guests gradually began to leave.

Lorcan checked the original story. The original Third Prince had never been particularly fond of Oisín. After having his fun, he wouldn’t have invited the general to spend the night.

So Lorcan summoned the servants and instructed them to take Oisín back to his own residence.

The main reason was that Lorcan still had no idea how to explain his behaviour.

Everything he had done during the banquet had been necessary to complete his mission. He hadn’t really had a choice. But from Oisín’s point of view, his actions must have seemed strange, unreasonable, and perhaps even completely insane.

Since he couldn’t think of a suitable explanation, Lorcan decided not to offer one.

After seeing off the remaining guests, he released a long breath. Spending the entire day socialising had exhausted him.

He had been lying in bed for about two hours when System 66 finally couldn’t resist suggesting something.

"Host, would you like to play a game?"

Lorcan rolled over.

"Sure."

He quickly selected a character and entered the matching game screen.

The lobby was much livelier than usual. Messages were constantly appearing in the lower-right corner. When Lorcan looked more closely, he realised that Oisín had logged in again.

The Iris Major General rarely played, but whenever he appeared, everyone seemed to talk about him.

"What’s going on with Major General Oisín today? He’s even more terrifying than usual."

"I got shot in the head as soon as the match started. I didn’t even have time to see his character properly."

"He’s always ruthless, but doesn’t he seem strange today? Something feels off."

"Exactly! I thought I was the only one who noticed."

Curious, Lorcan clicked the speaker icon and sent a private message.

"What’s strange about him?"

His account was well known among military players, so the other person quickly replied with a long explanation.

"Wow, Lorcan! You missed all the earlier excitement. You really don’t know what’s happening?"

"Major General Oisín has always been one of the best killers in the military section. He doesn’t play very often, but when he does, he keeps going from morning until night. He finishes one match and immediately enters another. That’s how he earned the nickname Wheel War God."

"Sometimes he plays twenty or thirty matches in a single afternoon. Killing two or three hundred players is nothing unusual for him."

"But today, the strange thing is that he’s actually taking breaks. Every time he finishes a match, he just stands still for twenty minutes before starting another one."

Lorcan stared at the message.

"He stands still for twenty minutes?"

Was he simply daydreaming?

"Yes! I’ve also heard from people who were matched with him. Apparently, he suddenly stopped moving in the middle of a match. His teammates thought he’d disconnected, so they got excited and tried to sneak up on him. Then he shot them from a distance."

Lorcan: "?"

So he even spaced out during matches?

"When will he finish this one?" Lorcan asked.

The other player replied, "He’s been playing for a while. It should end in two or three minutes. You can wait for him. He usually appears on that rock over there."

Lorcan replied, "Thanks."

He waited for a few minutes. Once the match ended, a figure appeared on the rock.

As expected, it was Oisín.

The silver-haired character stood motionless, staring into the distance. He looked like a tall, beautiful statue.

He really was spacing out. ’Perhaps today’s banquet had been too exhausting, and he still hadn’t recovered from it.’
