Transmigration: Space-Aided Rise to Power and Prosperity
Chapter 1379: The Grand Wedding (Final Extra Chapter)
Watching this, he suddenly swallowed. The tea just now had only slightly sobered him, but it didn’t alleviate the heat in his heart. The fire within him seemed to be growing even more intense.
Yao Mengxian was being stared at intently by Gu Chengyu, and her face blazed with heat. She felt that the Gu Chengyu today seemed like a completely different person compared to his usual self. The normally cool and indifferent peach blossom eyes were now so enchanting and captivating.
Perhaps it was the effect of the wine, as the flush on his cheeks complemented the bright red wedding robe, making the young man before her appear even more alluring with his ruby lips and white teeth, and his skin was as smooth and fair as mutton fat jade.
“Prince, I have finished bathing, would you like to wash now?” Yao Mengxian asked softly, her voice trembling slightly.
For some reason, being stared at so intensely by Gu Chengyu made her feel somewhat weak in the knees.
The atmosphere in the room became very delicate, and the three maids felt uncomfortable all over, but without the master’s order to leave, they didn’t dare to make a sound.
After all, it was their first time serving the master’s significant other today. They dreaded serving inadequately and losing face for their own master.
“Mm!” This response seemed to hum out from his nose, as Gu Chengyu thought that perhaps a bath would help him feel more at ease. Moreover, he had drunk quite a bit of alcohol, and his body carried a strong smell of it.
“Then shall I have wintergreen and Lianxin serve you?” Yao Mengxian asked cautiously, biting her lip.
Earlier, she heard Gu Chengyu call wintergreen, so he must be used to wintergreen’s service.
“No need!” Gu Chengyu refused without even thinking; he never needed anyone to assist him with bathing.
Yao Mengxian secretly breathed a sigh of relief. Regardless of whether the prince takes a concubine in the future, today was their wedding night, and seeing other women interact intimately with her husband would always feel uncomfortable to her.
Gu Chengyu walked into the washroom and found that the large tub inside had already been filled with bathing water. Noticing that he was slightly sweaty, Gu Chengyu quickly removed his clothes and immersed himself in the warm water.
He thought that a hot bath might relieve his fatigue and restore his clarity. But as soon as Gu Chengyu entered the water, he felt it was getting increasingly hot, and he couldn’t help but stand up in the tub, wanting to ask why the water was so hot today.
Only suddenly remembering that today was his wedding night, he had no choice but to endure it.
After a hasty bath, Gu Chengyu emerged from the tub, put on the middle garment that was set aside, donned an outer robe over it, and entered the bedroom.
Once he entered the bedroom, he saw all their gazes turning towards him, which made Gu Chengyu feel a surge of irritation.
“It’s late, you should all leave! No need to stay up tonight.”
Yao Mengxian noticed Gu Chengyu’s hair was still dripping, and she wanted to ask him to dry his hair, but seeing his cold expression made her feel uneasy.
Once the three maids had exited, Yao Mengxian sat in front of the dressing table and stared at the reflection in the copper mirror, feeling uneasy all over. “Get some rest,” Gu Chengyu said.
After saying this, he climbed into bed in one swift motion. Facing it is like facing a sharp blade, shrinking from it is also facing a sharp blade.
Yao Mengxian’s eyes dimmed, feeling at a loss. She reluctantly got up and walked to the bedside.
Looking at Gu Chengyu’s handsome face under the dragon and phoenix candles, with half of the bed left empty, Yao Mengxian hesitated about whether to go over.
The problem was, he was sleeping on the outer side, so she would inevitably have to pass over his body.
“Aren’t you going to sleep?” Gu Chengyu suddenly opened his eyes, startling Yao Mengxian.
“Sleeping, I’m tired!” After speaking, Gu Chengyu closed his eyes again.
Yao Mengxian felt that the prince was somewhat agitated today, and his tone was utterly different from usual. Her heart was filled with bitterness. Wasn’t this a sign of extreme dissatisfaction with her? Otherwise, why be so cold on their wedding night? Yet, clearly, he showed concern for her before, didn’t he?
Could it have all been for the sake of others? Or was it because of the alcohol? Feeling lost and disheartened, Yao Mengxian’s joy as a new bride was completely swept away.
With so much on her mind, Yao Mengxian couldn’t even recall the shaming words her grandmother had spoken to her earlier. She carefully avoided touching Gu Chengyu, moving her body closer to the inner side.
But just as she was about to succeed, her leg slipped, “Ouch!”
Yao Mengxian let out a soft cry, and as she raised her eyes, theirs met. Her soft black hair fell gently on either side of Gu Chengyu’s face as she gazed into his dark eyes, and Gu Chengyu muttered softly, “You asked for it.”
Among the silk drapes, whispers intensified; under the red candles, everything looked beautiful, as the room gradually filled with springtime warmth… Life in the great harmonious river…
I dare not write further, cannot write any more, not allowed to write, the rest you must imagine yourselves…
…
The spring in the courtyard was at its best, as Gu Chengyu lay on the rocking chair, covering his face with an ancient text.
A young woman looked at the tall figure lying on the rocking chair and couldn’t help but smile, still as leisurely as ever.
“Go find your dad!” she said, putting down the child in her hands, as the little one toddled towards that figure.
“Dad! Carry me!”
Gu Chengyu heard a tender voice ringing out, and he immediately took down the book. Looking back, he couldn’t help but smile knowingly…
