Treasure Hunting System: The Ocean Conquerer
Chapter 1460 - 568: The Great Net (Part 3)
But this was exactly the moment Alka had been waiting for.
He would, in one stroke, deal a heavy blow to all those who had joined the hunt for him.
To lay the groundwork for the world’s victory.
And let it be sublimated at this very moment.
"Come on then, hurry up and start, I’m about to run out of patience."
Alka spoke as his golden pupils fixed on the boundless darkness ahead.
...
Time flowed.
War raged.
The powerful Abyssal aura erupting from the Abyssal Rift had almost spread across the entire Island, thick billowing smoke rising straight into the sky.
"Where are the Elemental Crystal Stones? We’re almost out—tell logistics to send more, now!" The master controlling the Elemental Tower was roaring.
The shortage of Elemental Crystal Stones would cause the protective barrier to weaken and reduce their Energy attacks against the Demons.
"The last batch is already behind us, it’ll be here any moment!" the assistant on this side shouted.
All around was the sound of wild, chaotic explosions and Energy flying everywhere; on a battlefield like this, they had no choice but to yell at the top of their lungs just to hear each other.
As for using Magic Power to transmit speech over short distances—that would waste Magic Power, and was an unnecessary expense; at most, they’d just wear out their throats a bit more.
"Good, then—wait, what do you mean ’the last batch’?" The white-bearded old man suddenly slapped the table in front of him and bellowed.
The young assistant at his side said helplessly, "After these last two days of attacks, the Elemental Crystal Stones have already been exhausted. The final batch in the city is on its way here right now, but that really is the last batch."
"How can the supplies suddenly be cut off at a time like this?"
"No idea. Word is, the outer seas’ Cultists have been crazily attacking all kinds of transport shipments lately. Some Elemental supplies were robbed, some ships were sunk, and others had their delivery times dragged out."
Hearing this, the old man flew into a furious rage, pounding the table over and over as he rained mad curses down on those Cultists’ families.
But all he could do now was curse.
"Whatever, just get that batch of Elemental Crystal Stones here first. And tell those idiots who don’t know how to conserve—have them use it sparingly. Elemental Crystal Stones aren’t for wasting."
At these words, the assistant rolled his eyes.
You just told us to crank the power up and blast those Demons to hell, and now you want us to conserve.
But he could only nod and quickly head down.
Meanwhile, in the central main tower on the front line—
All the Archbishops of the Four Gods Church stationed here had gathered, along with the strongest figures from each faction who were capable of taking command.
"Those damned traitors to the world—have those damned Evil Gods gotten in bed with these Demons again?" A gray-robed elder with an extremely long beard, his whole person a bit unkempt, asked angrily.
He was a Sage of Wisdom from the Holy Machine Church.
Seated beside him was a more properly dressed old man, one of the three rotating Archbishops.
"Hasn’t that been obvious for a long time? It’s just that clearly, lately, they seem to have made some sort of arrangements."
All kinds of intelligence reports were laid out in front of them.
And these high-ranking figures, whose strength was just as formidable, bore plenty of battle marks on their bodies as well; clearly, they had just been fighting outside too.
The fierce battle outside had already raged on for two days.
The Demons crashed against them like a tidal wave, one surge after another; more and more Demons were gathering, and their assault felt almost endless.
Even those Demons’ Lords had begun to show themselves.
They had just finished brawling with those Lords.
Supplies were short, reinforcements delayed.
Because as early as a month ago, transport routes around the world had been subjected to all kinds of interference and destruction by those damned Cultists.
Obviously, all to set up for this very moment.
But the problem was, they still didn’t know what the actual target this time was.
Clearly, if the enemy wanted to launch a decisive all-out offensive, this level of force still wasn’t enough to destroy this defensive line they’d spent ten years building, pouring in most of the world’s resources.
That would be underestimating them far too much.
It didn’t feel like a full-scale assault meant to take them down in one go.
Instead, it felt like a targeted arrangement of some sort.
If the goal was to bleed them dry of living strength in one swoop, then this move could be considered a success—but it shouldn’t stop there.
So what was the real purpose?
Unable to reach any concrete conclusion, the brief meeting came to an end. They once again returned to the city walls to hold off those damned Demon Lords.
Alka was at the front line at this moment.
With a casual wave of his hand, he sliced off a Demon’s arm, then let his own body blur like a phantom as he slipped past the follow-up strike.
He tossed that Demon’s arm into the sealing space; it looked as though it had been sealed, but in truth, he had simply stolen the arm.
This was the method Alka was currently using to disguise his technique.
After all, stealing and sealing felt pretty much the same—as long as Alka didn’t give it back.
Who knew the enemy would grow another arm.
It had actually abandoned the very concept of an arm, using some method unknown to Alka to regrow it.
Looked like they really had come prepared just for him.
With a backhand slash, he chopped off the head of another Demon harassing him, then drew the soul out from its skull.
Just as Alka continued fighting, a long-absent figure appeared before him, opening with a rain of scarlet blades that came slashing straight at his face.
He knocked all the blades aside.
And looked at the Demon before him.
"So the coward finally shows up? What is it, Demon Courage Day today?"
