Jerry Garcia quickly snapped back to reality and replied with a smile, "Oh, yes, I like canned food."

"I do too, especially the canned food from this store." The girl said as she took two cans from the shelf and put them into her shopping cart, looking at him with another smile, "No need to check the dates; they’re all from the past week, super fresh, and they taste great."

"Hmm, do you live nearby too?" Jerry asked while placing the cans into his shopping cart.

The girl nodded, "Yes, does Assistant Garcia cook for himself?" She noticed some vegetables and meats in his shopping cart.

"Occasionally," Jerry answered humbly, "I eat at the company mostly."

"The company meals are quite good."

"How’s your hand?"

"It’s alright."

The two chatted briefly and then went their separate ways... leaving individually.

Henry Chase drove Joanna Sawyer to the apartment building downstairs, and as the car came to a stop, he turned to look at her, "Bibi, you still haven’t gotten your driving license, right?"

Ever since her sister had a car accident, she had become somewhat fearful of getting a driving license.

Despite making up her mind several times, she ultimately never signed up.

She shook her head, "No, but it’s very convenient for me to get to the company from here; there are buses and subways, and my sister has a car. You really don’t have to drive me anymore; I’d feel very guilty."

"Why would you feel guilty?" Henry asked, "Are you rejecting me?"

The girl turned her eyes, speaking with particular seriousness, "Because I can’t give anything to you, I can’t respond in the way you need. Do you understand? The better you are to me, the guiltier I feel."

"Shouldn’t friends be good to each other?" Henry met the girl’s gaze, feeling a hint of sadness spreading within, "I really value this relationship between us."

When facing him, Joanna’s feelings were actually quite complicated.

If it were any other pursuer, she would be very decisive, and others wouldn’t hold onto hope. For those who were persistent, she’d directly block them.

But Henry’s situation was special. He was the son of her mentor and had known her for many years. She couldn’t block him, couldn’t ignore him, and couldn’t even say anything harsh.

"Henry, it’s impossible between us." Joanna opened the car door, looking at him apologetically, "I’m sorry, I know you’re very kind to me, but I don’t have romantic feelings for you."

Then, not waiting for him to say anything, she added, "I’m sorry, thank you for bringing me back today."

The girl got out of the car, heading towards the entrance without looking back.

Henry watched the girl’s departing figure, his eyes dim, filled with disappointment, and gradually, his eyes became watery...

He truly loves her...

She filled his entire youth, a ray of light in his boring life.

Joanna returned home, the aroma of food wafting around, "Sis, I’m back!"

"Wash your hands and eat while we chat." Abby Sawyer brought out a plate of steamed lobster. After coming home, she had applied ice to the bruised side of her face, which had now disappeared.

"How was work today?" Her sister asked while washing her hands, "Did Angel give you any trouble? I heard today was the launch ceremony, right? Were all the artists there? Was the scene impressive?"

"I somehow ended up with a third female lead role today," Abby said with a smile as she sat down on the chair and looked up at her sister, "The original third female lead had something come up and left unexpectedly."

"What?" Joanna shook the water off her hands, walking towards her in shock, and then with great surprise, "Such luck? A third female lead? That’s quite a notable supporting role! The character is really outstanding, with plenty of scenes, is she called Telma in the drama?"
