Then a mass of spiritual radiance shot out from His body, as if crossing the endless distance of time and space, merging with another locus of His true body.

In an instant, within the dark mechanical main control room, right before the incredulous gaze of the Primordial Celestial Venerable, it was as if a golden long river froze the space in a single moment, and an unending tide of power poured into Zheng Yi’s body.

He stretched out his right hand, grasped at his own glabella, and immediately pulled out a red candle.

And that continuous Power of Incense and Power of Belief fell upon the tip of the red candle, blazing fiercely, bursting forth with endless dazzling radiance.

The terrifying torrent of time surged forward right before Zheng Yi’s eyes; the battlefield where he contended with the Primordial Celestial Venerable burst into brilliant light, that colossal Master of Mechanics, mingled with twisted flesh, struggled madly, yet could not escape the majesty of time.

Under the washing of Time Power, even the cold Steel Body gradually withered, decayed, turning into dust, dying away bit by bit.

At this moment, Zheng Yi seemed like a Divine Spirit who commanded time; his every movement was imbued with Spirituality, transcending the material plane.

He watched with his own eyes as the Fire of Spirit of the Primordial Celestial Venerable was completely extinguished; in that instant, he knew this highest Sovereign of the Technology Ruins Civilization had truly perished.

Vanished within the long river of history, leaving not even the slightest trace behind.

"Huh?!"

Just then, a soft sound of doubt escaped Zheng Yi’s lips; he discovered that even though all signs of life of the Primordial Celestial Venerable had disappeared, the Spiritual Spark’s spiritual origin seemed to have triggered some kind of program and began to tremble violently.

As if it had activated a certain self-detonation, self-destruction program.

This was precisely the peculiarity of a technological civilization: even if the spiritual origin had fallen, the cold programs would still run along their fixed trajectories.

"Already dead, and still trying to make trouble?!"

Zheng Yi let out a cold laugh; the blood-colored pupil at his glabella, now lacking that candle flame, resembled a dark, hollow cavity.

Then it produced a tremendous suction force, like the gaping maw of an abyss, swallowing in one gulp that struggling Spiritual Spark from the Primordial Celestial Venerable.

One could see the blood-colored eyeball at Zheng Yi’s glabella gradually merging, while the red candle in his hand transformed into a strand of candle flame and sank into his glabella.

Only a huge lump of flesh appeared upon his forehead.

That lump of flesh kept writhing and twisting, revealing some dreadful form.

It was as if a power was being bound within, struggling, trying to erupt, yet being brutally suppressed.

Zheng Yi gave a muffled groan, then slowly sat cross-legged in the void; under the traction of the power of the Festival of Ten Thousand Gods, an unending torrent of Incense flowed into his body.

...

"What a terrifying Spiritual Spark—who knows how many Divine Crystals this Primordial Celestial Venerable devoured to condense Spiritual Power to such an extent?!"

It had to be said, for an existence of mechanical life to condense a flame to such a terrifying degree—even an ordinary Divine Spirit of a Belief System was far inferior to it.

No wonder that back then, with just a Mechanical Civilization, they could withstand the siege of so many Divine Spirits and yet remain unbroken.

Even when the core Energy was depleted, falling into decline, the entire Technology Ruins Civilization drifting here and slumbering for countless years, the Spiritual Power possessed by the core Spiritual Spark within still maintained vigorous potency, even directly attempting to seize Zheng Yi’s body.

Although it did not succeed, the shock brought by the entire process was astounding.

The spiritual level it possessed absolutely exceeded imagination, having stepped into another qualitative realm.

Yet at this moment, this ever-burning Spiritual Spark had, in Zheng Yi’s eyes, already become something in his pocket, no longer able to escape to the heavens from his grasp.

Boom! Boom!

Continuous, crashing impacts echoed within the vast blood-colored eyeball; the Spiritual Spark had already had all of the Primordial Celestial Venerable’s wisdom erased, its self-detonation program constrained, as if it had been locked into a prison, surrounded on all sides by Iron Walls—no matter what heaven-shaking power it still possessed, it could not struggle free from here.

Buzz! Buzz!

Just as the burning Spark struggled ceaselessly, colliding to send ring after ring of ripples surging outward—

The surface of the previously motionless blood-colored eyeball quivered ever so slightly; a layer of existence like a storm and yet like Blood Mist rapidly spread within the eyeball.

At a speed visible to the naked eye, dense red mist, like wave after wave of surging tide, darkened from light to deep, thickened from thin to dense, gradually permeating the entire blood-colored eyeball.

Even that previously pulsing Spark, like a volcano about to erupt, under this blood-colored suffusion, began gradually to draw back, no longer expanding outward, condensing once more into a cluster.

In just a few brief breaths, this burning Spiritual Spark condensed into a grayish-white sphere, with the power of flame still flickering within.

The constantly surging red mist, as if alive, slowly gathered upon the surface of the sphere.

The flame burning and leaping within continuously spurted outward, attempting to burn away and dispel the red that had stained its surface.

Unfortunately, though this Spiritual Spark was indeed powerful, its fire inexhaustible, having condensed the Spirits of many Divine Spirits and been forged by mechanical programs—

Compared to the terrifying blood-colored eyeball, its essence was still far lacking; that eyeball belonged to an incomprehensible God and Demon Life Form of Chaos origin—though merely a single eye, its might far surpassed that of present Divine Spirits.

In terms of essence, the two were worlds apart, utterly incomparable.

...

Time flowed by, second by second.

All fell into silence, while only the aura on this side of the main control room remained eternal.

No one knew how long had passed when, one day, a mass of blood-red radiance burst forth in the dusky space.

"At last, it has become mine to use!"

Under Zheng Yi’s gaze, the burning Spiritual Spark finally calmed; the final strand of program operation left by the Primordial Celestial Venerable was also completely cleansed—or rather, rewritten—under this red envelopment.

Now, within the blood-colored eyeball, that Spark which pulsed like pearly light had in truth become a seed of Spirit, machine, and flesh fused into one under Zheng Yi’s control.

"Gather!"

At a mere stir of his Heart Spirit, that pulsing red flame burst forth with dazzling brilliance; an invisible force tugged outward from Zheng Yi’s glabella as he slowly opened his third eye.

A burning red Spark shot out from within, suspended before him, endlessly radiating powerful aura.

He had spent an exceedingly long time to finally fully assimilate this Spiritual Spark nurtured by the Primordial Celestial Venerable—which was also the locus of the Mechanical Civilization’s core Supreme Program—and convert it into his own power.

...

When Zheng Yi opened his eyes, he discovered that several decades had already passed.

Like a ten-year dream!

This single clash upon the spiritual plane might have felt like but an instant, yet the flow of time in the external world did not bend to personal will.

Such a long span was not beyond comprehension.

In the Great Cosmic Sea, for top-tier Life Forms, a single nap could see several hundred or even a thousand years slip by.

However, Zheng Yi did not show much surprise regarding the outside time; after all, he had previously experimented with this sort of spiritual-level refinement.

It was indeed extremely time-consuming, grinding down one’s own Spirit and effort.

Of course, this time he had relied on the blood-colored eyeball and the Belief connection of the Festival of Ten Thousand Gods; otherwise, with just his own body, to completely erase the residual programs left by the Primordial Celestial Venerable would have been almost impossible.

For in essence, if this supreme Sovereign of the Mechanical Civilization had not been struck down by the attack of the ten thousand gods, crippled utterly, and fallen into countless millennia of slumber, Zheng Yi could never have approached an existence of that level.

This was also why the remnant will of the Primordial Celestial Venerable chose Zheng Yi’s body as its target for possession: among the powerhouses who had entered here, he possessed the most outstanding physique—after all, his core was the Reincarnation Immortal Embryo, evolved through countless years of Reincarnation Black Mist, bearing the aptitude for Immortal Ascension.
