Tyrannical Tycoon Haunts Me Relentlessly
Chapter 1461: That Cautious Man
Chapter 1461: Chapter 1461: That Cautious Man
The Old Madam shot Gu Beicheng a look and said mildly, "The surname doesn’t matter. As long as he’s sincere to Nian Nian, that’s enough."
Even though Nian Nian hadn’t asked her for help, the Old Madam was still anxious for her.
Back then, if it hadn’t been for her indulgence, Nian Nian, that girl, wouldn’t have had to suffer so much grievance.
So she decided that before she died, she had to do something for Nian Nian. Otherwise, how could she face this girl who was racking her brains to help treat her illness?
"Han, if some people still keep hesitating and won’t make a move, your aunt is putting her money on you." The Old Madam turned back to look at Jing Hanye.
"As you command." Jing Hanye nodded.
Xia Yinian looked around, still holding that heavy heirloom of the entire family.
Was Grandma talking about Beicheng when she mentioned that person who "keeps hesitating"? She really was quite curious.
The Seventh Young Master had always been decisive and swift in what he did. Since when had he ended up being described as "hesitating and overcautious"?
And the one saying that about him was his own mom. She wondered what the Seventh Young Master was feeling right now.
"Nian Nian, you come with Mom and head back to rest first. It’s getting late."
Gu Beicheng shot Jing Hanye a look, then his gaze instantly softened as it fell on Xia Yinian.
"Mm." Xia Yinian lowered her hands and nodded.
In the end, this heavy thing still couldn’t be taken down. She was helpless too.
"Han, Nian Nian and I are going to check on the Old Madam’s condition." Once Xia Yinian stood up, Shen Qing also stood.
"Mm." Jing Hanye nodded.
"Jiajia, Xinxin, go back and rest. It’s late." Mr. Wu’s wife, Qin Sitong, spoke up.
"Yes, Mom." The pair of twins stood up as well.
With the Old Madam’s departure, those who should leave had basically all left.
In the end, Jing Hanye also left.
Only the Old Master, a few gentlemen, and the two juniors, Gu Lingqian and Gu Yanran, remained.
The Old Madam’s treatment, of course, couldn’t rely solely on medicine.
Shen Qing and Xia Yinian, mother and daughter, gave her a thorough checkup and began working out the treatment plan going forward.
By the time Xia Yinian had seen Shen Qing over to Jing Hanye’s place and returned from the villa, it was already eleven at night.
Sensing something, she lifted her gaze, and sure enough, she saw the figure she’d been hoping to see.
Xia Yinian bit her lip, lowered her head, and kept walking forward.
"What are you doing here?" Only when she came up to Gu Beicheng did she stop.
"Didn’t Mom tell me to make it quick and decisive?" Gu Beicheng suddenly stepped forward, pulling the girl into his arms.
Xia Yinian gave a feeble push, then simply let him hold her and walk away.
"Don’t you think Grandma was being a bit too deliberate today?"
"Deliberate how?" Gu Beicheng’s restless large hand gave her waist a light pinch.
"That man who keeps hesitating and overthinking." Xia Yinian grabbed his thumb and arched a brow.
She clearly didn’t have the strength to hold onto his arm to stop him, so she could only grab his thumb as a kind of reminder.
"Nian Nian thinks that man is me?"
Right as the words "is me" left his mouth, Gu Beicheng’s hand suddenly slid upward, touching a particularly soft spot on Xia Yinian.
Xia Yinian shuddered all over and tried hard to push the man beside her away.
Gu Beicheng smiled, then his large hand behaved itself again as he properly drew her back into his arms.
"Obviously, the person Mom was talking about isn’t me, it’s you." He knit his brows slightly and said in a low voice.
"You’re awful! We’re outside." Xia Yinian’s rosy lips pouted high.
Gu Beicheng lowered his eyes to look at her, then simply scooped her up in a princess carry and strode ahead quickly.
