Chapter 275: Chapter 277: Babysitting Divine Artifact

With that, Xiao Ye lowered his head and clamped his lips onto Su Luoluo’s, kissing her forcefully. He didn’t pull away until the last trace of moisture at the corner of her mouth was gone.

His hand, veins bulging, stroked Su Luoluo’s waist. A smile spread across his face. "Seems like you haven’t changed much."

’This bastard! He takes advantage of me and then has the nerve to mock me!’

Su Luoluo wasn’t having it. She pried his hand off her waist. "If you don’t like it, don’t touch me."

"Why are you so angry? I wasn’t finished. Your waist might not be any thinner, but other places... have gotten even better. I like it even more now."

Su Luoluo shot him a look. ’This lecherous snake, always true to form.’

But even so, Su Luoluo ignored him.

’My body can’t handle two at once.’

She put some distance between herself and Xiao Ye, her gaze falling on the snake hatchlings who had already shifted into their human forms.

Seven little hatchlings, all with identical purple pupils, stared at her with wide, glistening eyes. They didn’t even blink, their eyes like little grapes, and Su Luoluo fell in love with them instantly.

’As expected of my own hatchlings. They’re just so adorable.’

With their chubby little arms and legs, they squatted adorably on the ground, looking so innocent and cute.

She hadn’t quite come to terms with their snake forms, but now that they had suddenly changed into human shape, Su Luoluo felt they were no different from human babies.

What gave her a headache, however, was that the seven little hatchlings looked like they had been copy-pasted. They all had the exact same face.

She couldn’t help but ask in surprise, "Did I give birth to septuplets?"

Xiao Ye was a little unhappy that Su Luoluo had pushed him away, but he didn’t show it in front of the hatchlings.

When Su Luoluo asked about the hatchlings, he began to introduce them. "They’re clearly seven different babies. Can’t you see their eyes are completely different?"

’Different?’

Su Luoluo looked at them again, baffled. "Aren’t all their eyes purple?"

"Look closer. The color of their pupils has different shades, some darker and some lighter," Xiao Ye said, giving Su Luoluo a speechless look.

’Darker and lighter?’

Hearing this, Su Luoluo lowered her head to take a closer look and realized that the color of their pupils was indeed different.

Noticing Xiao Ye’s expression, Su Luoluo gave a dry laugh. "Do you Snake Beasts just use eyes to tell people apart?"

Xiao Ye was speechless.

"They do look different. You’ll see when they’re older. Besides, they’re quite gifted. Their superpowers awakened not long after they hatched. The one named Feng can already control the wind, and Lei gets along well with lightning..."

’Feng? Lei?’

’Those names don’t sound much better than the ones Su Yang would come up with.’ But Su Luoluo didn’t voice her complaints.

’When you can’t tell the septuplets apart, calling them names like Feng and Lei certainly makes it easy to identify them.’

So, even though she wasn’t too fond of the names, she kept her mouth shut.

Perhaps because it was their first time seeing their Mother, the hatchlings weren’t shy with Su Luoluo at all. They all came SCUTTLING over to her.

At first, Su Luoluo could manage holding one or two, but any more than that became a struggle.

She tried to put down the hatchlings in her arms, but they refused to let go. The other babies, seeing she had no free hands to hold them, didn’t cry. Instead, they just kicked their legs, pulled with their arms, and climbed right onto her.

Poor Su Luoluo was a petite person to begin with. She had two in her arms, two clinging to her legs, two more gripping her left and right shoulders, and the last one had even wrapped its little legs around her neck and was sitting there astride.

In that moment, Su Luoluo felt like a walking baby jungle gym. There were babies absolutely everywhere.

One hatchling wasn’t heavy, but with seven of them piled on top of her, Su Luoluo felt like she was about to be crushed.

She hurriedly called out to Xiao Ye, who was enjoying the show from the sidelines, "Quick, come and help! I can’t hold on!"

Xiao Ye chuckled. "Didn’t you want to lose weight? This is even better. You can burn energy without even having to move."

’So petty. Was that really necessary?’

She glared at him. "Cut the crap and hurry up."

Xiao Ye’s smile vanished. Instead of reaching out to help, he slowly pulled a few items from his robes and tossed them into the air.

Su Luoluo was at her limit. Seeing Xiao Ye still dawdling, she was about to snap at him when the hatchlings saw the objects in the air. They immediately went SCRAMBLING down and started tearing at the things on the ground.

Su Luoluo stared at the scene in shock. "Aren’t those the net bags Fu Feng gave us? You’re using a few tattered nets to distract them?"

’I remember how much Xiao Ye despised these things,’ she thought. ’And now, in the blink of an eye, they’ve become some kind of magical parenting tool.’

Xiao Ye walked to her side and smiled. "They love this stuff."

Su Luoluo watched as the hatchlings grabbed the nets, instantly shifted into their snake forms, and began slithering in and out of the mesh. The expression on her face was indescribable.

"The hatchlings are dealt with. Now, shouldn’t you be paying some proper attention to me?"

Xiao Ye wasn’t about to let Su Luoluo off the hook, continuing to pester her.

Su Luoluo tried to deflect. "I’m a little smelly right now. It’s not a good time."

Hearing this, Xiao Ye toyed with the edge of her Beast Skin Skirt. "It’s fine. I don’t mind."

Su Luoluo patted his shoulder. "No can do. I mind."

Just a moment ago, while hugging the hatchlings, she had secretly used her Water Element’s purification ability to cleanse herself of Xi Yi’s scent.

Xiao Ye had thought her scent was a little off and wanted to check again, but when he embraced her this time, he couldn’t smell anything unusual, so he had to let it go.

Seeing the hatchlings playing happily, Xiao Ye narrowed his eyes and asked, "Where did you and Xi Yi rush off to in such a panic the day before yesterday?"

Su Luoluo told him the truth. "Fu Feng was set up by Hua Jinxin. We rushed to Fengqi Mountain."

"Hua Jinxin? That bird went after him again?"

Su Luoluo nodded and was about to say more, when suddenly the door was thrown open with a BANG.

"Luoluo, don’t worry! I’ve already taken care of it. Hua Jinxin will never bother you again," Fu Feng declared confidently as he strode in.

Before Su Luoluo could say a word, his gaze fell on Xiao Ye’s hand, which was still reaching for her. Fu Feng darted forward, squeezing between them, and said menacingly, "Xiao Ye, I don’t believe it’s your turn for watch duty today."

Xiao Ye coolly withdrew his hand. "Let’s just hope a certain someone doesn’t cause any more trouble for Luoluo."

"Don’t worry. She definitely won’t have the nerve to show her face again."

Su Luoluo asked curiously, "What did you do to Hua Jinxin?"

"I returned their trashy feathers to them, and then I had people spread the word that I broke off our engagement. The Xuan Birds pride themselves on being so noble; now that they’ve lost face, they shouldn’t come looking for trouble with you or me again."

Fu Feng’s reasoning was simple: by bringing the matter out into the open and making a public declaration, the Xuan Birds would have to consider the Dragon Sparrow Clan’s stance before daring to make a move against Su Luoluo.

Su Luoluo raised an eyebrow. "And your Father and Mother agreed to this?"

’Breaking off an engagement from a clan alliance can’t be that easy to resolve,’ Su Luoluo thought.

"This is my own affair. Why do I need their permission? We Dragon Sparrows have always handled our own business," Fu Feng said, looking at her strangely.

Seeing that she didn’t look relieved, he seemed to recall something and added with a grin, "But I did have a word with my grandpa. Don’t worry, Luoluo, he’ll definitely be on my side. My grandpa is fiercely protective of his own."

"What did you tell your grandpa?" Su Luoluo had a bad feeling.
