Ultimate Master in the City
Chapter 120: The Incredibly Arrogant Liao Guardian
Chapter 120: Chapter 120: The Incredibly Arrogant Liao Guardian
Cui Biao’s eyes lit up when he heard Ye Feng’s domineering words, but they quickly dimmed again. He said with a bitter smile,
"Boss, you’re underestimating the Martial Arts Association," he said with a sigh. "It’ll be so difficult for the Dragon King Pavilion to return to its former glory!"
Ye Feng flicked the ash from his cigarette and gave a contemptuous smile, but said nothing.
Cui Biao looked at Ye Feng and said, "Boss, Liao Guardian is coming over soon. I’m heading to the Dragon King Pavilion to arrange a proper reception for him. I’ll call you when it’s time. As the Young Pavilion Master, you should come and meet your subordinate."
Seeing Ye Feng nod, Cui Biao immediately drove off.
Ye Feng murmured to himself, ’Not going to let it go, huh? You still want to cause trouble? Fine. I’d like to see what you’re capable of! Suppress the Dragon King Pavilion my master founded? In your dreams!’
With that, Ye Feng got in his car and drove back to the Linjiang Villa District.
When Ah Dao saw Ye Feng return, he was so excited he almost cried. "Bro, you’re finally back! I was starving!"
Ye Feng was speechless.
An hour later, Ah Dao let out a satisfied burp, a look of pure comfort on his face. "Bro, your cooking is still the best!"
Ye Feng laughed.
Just then, a call came from Cui Biao. "Boss, Liao Guardian is about to arrive. If you’re free, could you come over now?"
Ye Feng grunted in affirmation, hung up, and got up to leave.
Ah Dao quickly got up to follow him. "Bro, I’m full. I’ll go with you to walk it off."
Ye Feng nodded, and the two got in the car. They soon arrived at the Dragon King Pavilion’s Jiangcheng branch.
Ye Feng and Ah Dao got out of the car and saw Cui Biao waiting eagerly by the entrance with a group of men.
Seeing the two of them, Cui Biao hurried over to greet them. "Boss!"
Ye Feng smiled and said, "We’re all family here. There’s no need to make such a big scene just for me."
Cui Biao looked embarrassed. "Boss, we’re actually here to receive Liao Guardian!"
"Liao Guardian isn’t here yet?" Ye Feng asked, looking at Cui Biao.
Before Cui Biao could speak, Scarface, the man behind him, blurted out:
"Yeah, he said he’d be here half an hour ago, but there’s still no sign of him. Squad Leader Cui even told him you’d be here, but he still dared to drag it out this long. He clearly has no respect for you..."
"Don’t talk nonsense," Cui Biao quickly cut Scarface off, then turned to Ye Feng with a placating smile. "Boss, maybe Liao Guardian got held up on the road. Why don’t you go inside and rest for a bit?"
But Ye Feng said casually, "It’s fine. It’s plenty bright out here."
With that, he leaned against something nearby, lit a cigarette, and began to smoke.
Cui Biao stepped to the side to make a call. It rang for a long time before someone picked up. Cui Biao quickly lowered his voice and said,
"Liao Guardian, where are you? Can you please hurry? The Young Pavilion Master is already here. He’s waiting for you..."
Before he could finish, an impatient voice cut him off. "What’s the rush? Don’t you know I’m tired from the long trip and need to rest? Is there something wrong with me washing my feet?"
"No, that’s not it. The thing is, the Young Pavilion Master is already here, and he’s waiting..." Cui Biao said hurriedly.
But he was cut off again. "So what if he has to wait? What’s the big deal?
Young Pavilion Master... what’s so special about him? For all we know, he just pulled some strings and bribed his way to the top.
If he’s really so capable, why don’t you just have him solve the problem? What do you need me for?"
Hearing Liao Yu’s seditious words, Cui Biao’s face went pale. He lowered his voice and said, "Liao Guardian, you can’t say such things!"
"Why can’t I? I’m going to make him wait. He can just sit there and wait for me."
With that, he abruptly hung up.
Cui Biao stood there, phone in hand, completely stunned. It took him a long moment to recover. He quickly turned to look at Ye Feng, only to see him still smoking in the distance.
He breathed a silent sigh of relief. ’Thank goodness Ye Feng didn’t hear that!’
But how could he have known? Ye Feng’s hearing was far beyond that of an ordinary person. He had heard every word of the phone call, crystal clear.
The corners of Ye Feng’s lips curled up slightly. He murmured to himself, ’This Dragon King Pavilion really is due for a thorough house-cleaning.’
The group waited for a full twenty minutes more. Just as Cui Biao was so anxious he was about to break out in a cold sweat, a Bentley sedan slowly pulled up and came to a smooth stop.
The front passenger door opened, and a young man hopped out. He ran to the back, pulled open the rear door, and an elderly man slowly emerged from the car.
The man was tall and thin, and the arrogant way he held his head high was a silent declaration of his imperious nature.
The newcomer was none other than Liao Yu, Liao Guardian, one of the sixteen Guardians of the Dragon King Pavilion.
Seeing Liao Yu, Cui Biao finally let out a long sigh of relief. He rushed forward to greet him, extending both hands with a placating smile.
"Liao Guardian, you’ve finally arrived!"
But Liao Yu kept his head held high, making no move to shake his hand. He glared at Cui Biao and said impatiently, "It was just a short wait. What was the rush?"
Cui Biao was fuming. ’A short wait? I’ve been waiting for over an hour, damn it!’
But he didn’t dare get angry. He couldn’t. The man outranked him, so he called the shots.
So Cui Biao put on a smile and said, "Liao Guardian, it’s no problem for me to wait. The thing is, the Young Pavilion Master arrived a while ago, and he’s been waiting here as well..."
"So what if he had to wait a bit?" Liao Yu said haughtily.
Cui Biao was so scared he could have cried. ’This is like bad-mouthing Ye Feng right to his face!’ He quickly interjected, cutting Liao Yu off, "Liao Guardian, allow me to introduce you. This is the Young Pavilion Master of our Dragon King Pavilion."
Liao Yu glanced at Ye Feng, who was still standing off to the side smoking, showing no intention of coming over. A flash of displeasure crossed his face, but he walked over anyway and said nonchalantly,
"Liao Yu, one of the sixteen Guardians of the Dragon King Pavilion. Greetings, Young Pavilion Master."
Looking at Liao Yu’s haughty demeanor, Ye Feng flicked the ash from his cigarette and said with a smile,
"A Dragon King Pavilion Guardian. How impressive."
The young man beside him failed to detect the sarcasm and eagerly shouted,
"The sixteen Guardians of the Dragon King Pavilion are all top-tier experts at or above the Martial Venerable realm! Any single one of them could come to a place like Jiangcheng and completely dominate it.
Even though my master is ranked last among the sixteen Guardians, he’s incredibly powerful. He has already achieved the supreme cultivation of a Tier Three Martial Venerable.
I’m not exaggerating when I say this: if you tied up every expert in all of Jiangcheng, they still wouldn’t be enough to withstand a single slap from my master!
Cui the Louse called and said what? That some top-tier expert from the Martial Arts Association came to Jiangcheng to cause problems?
How expert can this expert be? Is he taller than the sky?
Let me tell you, as long as he’s not taller than the sky, it’s a non-issue. Now that my master is here, dragons will have to coil and tigers will have to lie down.
Rest assured, my master can take care of all these problems by himself!"
