Chapter 140: Chapter 140: In Your Next Life, Remember to Be a Good Person

But before they could even touch Ye Feng, they were sent flying backward one by one. They crashed to the ground like sacks of potatoes, spitting mouthfuls of blood and screaming in agony.

Ye Feng walked under the roof beam, slashed the ropes with a wave of his hand, and lowered both Xiao Gang and Xiao Wenyuan to the ground. He then patted Xiao Wenyuan on the back.

Xiao Wenyuan let out a muffled groan and slowly opened his eyes. When he saw Ye Feng standing before him, a relieved smile spread across his face.

"My boy... I knew you would come. I knew it!"

Before the words were even out of his mouth, Sun Qing, who was standing by the door, spoke in an icy tone.

"So what if he’s here? His arrival changes nothing. You’re all still going to die."

She then turned to Ye Feng and said coldly, "You bastard. I don’t know how you escaped from the Martial Arts Association, but so what? I have a hundred men here. Even if you’re made of steel, how many can you fight at once?"

"Today, you piece of shit, you’re going to die right here. I guarantee it!"

With that, she shouted toward the outside.

"Guards!"

"Guards!"

"Guards!"

But she shouted three times, and no one came.

She was still reeling in confusion when a calm voice drifted in from the doorway.

"Were you calling for them?"

As the voice spoke, several dark, lumpy objects were tossed inside.

Sun Qing glanced down and shrieked. They were the corpses of her men.

"Who is it? Who killed my men?" Sun Qing shrieked at the doorway.

"That would be me." With that, a crowd of people surged in.

In the lead was a middle-aged man with a buzz cut and a cruel, fleshy face.

It was Cui Biao: the underground emperor of Jiangcheng, the head of the Dragon King Pavilion’s Jiangcheng branch.

"Cui Biao! It’s you! How are you here?!" Lin Hu, standing behind her, couldn’t help but cry out.

Sun Qing, standing beside Lin Hu, ground her teeth as she stared at Cui Biao. "So what if he’s here? Once the Martial Arts Association arrives, he’ll be struck down where he stands!"

Cui Biao chuckled at Sun Qing. "I’m standing right here. Do you really think any of the Martial Arts Association’s men are left?"

"You’re lying! That’s impossible! The Martial Arts Association is packed with experts. How could they possibly lose to you?! You must be trying to trick me. I’ll prove you wrong right now!"

She then whipped out her phone and made a call.

A moment later, a robotic voice came through the receiver: "We’re sorry, the number you have dialed is currently switched off. Please try again later..."

Sun Qing dialed again, but the phone was still switched off. Her face went pale, and she cried out in a panic, "How could Chairman Cao’s phone be off? How is that possible?!"

Cui Biao chuckled. "Because there’s no phone service in hell."

"You’re saying Chairman Cao is dead?" Sun Qing shrieked. But a moment later, her face turned as white as a sheet.

Cao Kun’s phone was still off. Ye Feng and Cui Biao were here, yet not a single person from the Martial Arts Association had shown up. That said it all.

She didn’t know how Ye Feng and the others had managed to turn the tables, but it was clear that they had.

At this thought, Sun Qing’s face turned livid. She glared at Ye Feng and spat through gritted teeth,

"Just you wait!"

With that, she spun around and headed for the door, Lin Hu close on her heels.

But they hadn’t taken two steps before Cui Biao strode forward, blocking their path. He chuckled. "Trying to leave? In your dreams."

Sun Qing shrieked at Cui Biao, "If you dare lay a finger on me, the rest of the Sun family will never let you get away with it!"

Lin Hu, right behind her, added arrogantly, "And the Lin family, too!"

Just then, Ye Feng sighed from behind them. "They’re gone. All of them. There’s no one left from either of your families."

Sun Qing turned to face Ye Feng and let out a cackle. "The Sun and Lin families have over two hundred members combined. You say you killed them all, just like that? Do you have the guts? Even if you did, do you think the authorities would let you get away with it? If you’re going to bluff, at least make it believable, understand?"

Lin Hu sneered as well. But before the sound of his laughter could fade, a figure strode into the room and addressed Ye Feng calmly.

"Ye Feng, the remnants of the Sun, Lin, and Meng families have all been apprehended. They are being sent to the barren lands of the Eastern Domain to work the mines."

Lin Hu spun around, glaring at the newcomer. "And who the hell are you?" he sneered. "You say our families have been captured, so they’ve been captured? You say they’ve been sent to the Eastern Domain, so they’ve been sent to the Eastern Domain?..."

But he was only halfway through his sentence when he finally got a clear look at the person. He couldn’t help but scream.

"Meng War God! You’re the Meng War God!"

The newcomer was none other than Meng Jiaxin, the Eastern Domain War God of the Great Xia Empire.

Staring at Meng Jiaxin, the color drained from Lin Hu’s face.

’Heavens, I actually mouthed off to a War God... I’m so dead!’

Snapping back to his senses, he stumbled over to Meng Jiaxin, his voice trembling. "Meng War God, I didn’t realize it was you! I was rude just now. Please, I hope you can forgive my offense!"

Before the words were even out of his mouth, Meng Jiaxin whipped out a pistol, pressed it to his forehead, and pulled the trigger.

BANG! With a dull thud, a hole was blown clean through his forehead, and blood gushed out.

Lin Hu’s body went rigid. He collapsed limply to the ground, twitched for a moment, and then fell still.

Meng Jiaxin stared at his body and said coolly, "But I don’t feel like forgiving you."

Sun Qing was frozen in shock. ’They say the Eastern Domain War God, Meng Jiaxin, is swift and ruthless,’ she thought. ’Today, I’ve seen it with my own eyes.’

When she recovered, she shrieked at Meng Jiaxin, "Meng War God, none of our families have ever offended you! Why are you targeting us?"

Meng Jiaxin pointed to Ye Feng, her gaze fixed on Sun Qing. "But you offended my brother," she said, her voice cold.

"What? Ye Feng is your brother?" Sun Qing shrieked in terror, her face turning deathly pale in an instant.

’I thought he was only acting so arrogantly because he had the Dragon King Pavilion’s backing. I thought bringing in the Martial Arts Association would be more than enough to deal with him.’

’But now I understand. Behind him stands an even greater power!’

’Now I get it. I get why the Martial Arts Association was defeated!’

’And more than that, I understand that I’ve offended someone I can’t possibly afford to provoke!’

She couldn’t take it anymore. She stumbled over to Ye Feng and forced a placating smile.

"Mr. Ye, I was wrong! I should never have crossed you! Please, be merciful and spare the Sun family! I swear I will never dare to bother you again! I’m begging you! I’ll get on my knees for you!"

But Ye Feng’s next words made her blood run cold.
