Chapter 147: Chapter 147: Who Was Hurt More Severely?

Ye Feng paid him no mind, walking straight over to Nangong Xue. He wrapped an arm around her slender waist and said with a grin, "Honey, I’m here to back you up today!"

Wife?

’Nangong Xue is actually Ye Feng’s wife?’

Jia Hao felt as if he’d been clubbed over the head. He froze on the spot, completely stunned.

Ye Feng then turned to look at Jia Hao, a smile playing on his lips as he spoke.

"So, you’re the one who’s going to level the Holy Banner Bank?"

Seeing Ye Feng’s smile, Jia Hao felt as if he were being stared down by a primeval beast. All the hairs on his body stood on end.

He scrambled over to Ye Feng, his voice trembling as he cried out, "Mr. Ye, I really didn’t know Miss Nangong was your wife! I swear, I never would have dared to threaten her otherwise! I was wrong. I apologize to you both."

With that, he gave them a deep bow.

But Ye Feng paid him no attention and continued his questioning.

"What was that you said earlier? That you call the shots in Jiangcheng?"

"No, I wouldn’t dare!" Jia Hao felt a terrifying pressure wash over him, and he broke out in a cold sweat.

Ye Feng patted his cheek. "And what was that about dragons having to coil up and tigers having to lie down for you?"

"Sir, I was wrong! I was so wrong!"

Jia Hao couldn’t take it anymore. With a THUD, his legs gave out, and he dropped to his knees, kowtowing repeatedly and begging for mercy.

"Being wrong comes with a price," Ye Feng said with a dry laugh. He then turned to Nangong Xue and chided her gently.

"You silly girl, why bother raising the bank’s interest rates? How much can you possibly make that way?"

Nangong Xue looked at Ye Feng and said with a sigh, "Ye Feng, you don’t understand. Private banks don’t have much credibility to begin with. If I don’t offer higher interest rates, I can’t attract any deposits. How else am I supposed to make money?"

Ye Feng shook his head. "Why make money the hard way? You should just rob them. Robbing is much faster!"

"Robbing?" Nangong Xue staggered, nearly falling to the floor.

’Just how much do you hate me?’ she thought. ’Are you that eager to see me in prison?’

Ye Feng then crouched in front of Jia Hao, smiling. "You bullied my wife. She has suffered extremely severe, immeasurable physical and psychological trauma. Now, what do you propose we do about it?"

Jia Hao was fuming. ’Are you kidding me? I said a few words to her, and now she’s suffered "extremely severe, immeasurable" trauma?’

’Does she have a heart of glass?’

’For fuck’s sake, could you be any more dramatic?’

But there was nothing he could do. This guy was in charge now; he called the shots. Suppressing his rage, Jia Hao forced a smile and said,

"Mr. Ye, I know I was wrong. I’m willing to give Miss Nangong one million to soothe her wounded soul."

Jia Hao was on the verge of tears. ’Damn it,’ he thought, ’and who’s going to soothe my wounded soul?’

But he would soon discover that this little hurt was nothing compared to the excruciating pain he was about to endure.

Ye Feng just smiled faintly, shaking his head. "Pocket money? Do you think my wife is short on that? Let me spell it out for you. My wife has taken a liking to that shitty Wanxin Bank of yours. So, what are you going to do about it?"

"Impossible!" The moment the words left Ye Feng’s mouth, Jia Hao flew into a rage, roaring, "There is no way I will just hand over Wanxin Bank’s assets to you!"

’This is blatant robbery! They’re trying to kill the Jia family! They’re pushing us into a bottomless abyss!’

Ye Feng just smiled at him, grabbing his right hand. He took hold of Jia Hao’s pinky finger and bent it back.

With a sickening CRACK, Jia Hao’s pinky finger was broken.

Jia Hao let out a bloodcurdling scream and tried to pull his hand back, but Ye Feng’s grip on his wrist was like an iron clamp.

No matter how much Jia Hao struggled, he couldn’t break free.

Ye Feng looked at him, that same smile on his face. "So, want to think about it again?"

"Impossible! Absolutely impossible..." Jia Hao screamed himself hoarse. But before he could finish, Ye Feng snapped his ring finger. "How about now? Feeling possible yet?"

Staring into Ye Feng’s bone-chilling gaze, Jia Hao was so terrified he pissed his pants.

He understood now. If he dared to refuse, Ye Feng would absolutely tear him apart, piece by piece. He couldn’t take it anymore. He nodded, sobbing.

"I’ll do it! I’ll do it! I’ll call my grandfather right now and then handle the handover procedures with Miss Nangong."

Only then did Ye Feng release his hand, a smile playing on his lips.

"See? If you’d been this obedient from the start, you could’ve saved yourself some pain. Now go on. Be quick about it. My patience is limited, you know? Understand?"

"I understand! I understand!" Jia Hao nodded his head vigorously like a chicken pecking at grain. He got up and staggered out of the room. Once in the hallway, he burst into tears.

"I was wrong! I should never have messed with the Holy Banner Bank! I should never have messed with Nangong Xue! Waaah..."

Nearby, Nanfeng Xue was stunned, watching Ye Feng’s brutal methods.

Ye Feng stood up and looked at Nangong Xue, a grin on his face. "See, Xue’Er? That’s how you make money fast!"

Nangong Xue snapped out of it, her face pale as she looked at Ye Feng.

"Ye Feng, did you have to be so ruthless?"

Ye Feng chuckled. "Ruthless? The fact that I didn’t kill him is me being merciful. Xue’Er, I’m leaving Nanjun soon. I have to use these brutal methods to make all the ghouls and goblins understand: anyone who dares to mess with the people I care about will pay a heavy price!"

As he spoke, a terrifying killing intent instantly filled the air.

Enveloped by that killing intent, Nangong Xue felt the hair on her body stand on end. She landed a light punch on Ye Feng’s chest and exclaimed, "You rabbit, you scared me!"

Ye Feng wrapped an arm around Nangong Xue’s slender waist, his hand pressing directly on a *certain spot* as he spoke with a grin.

"Did I scare you... here?"

Then his wandering hand slithered like a fish into her clothes. He chuckled. "Or did I scare you... here?"

It was as if Ye Feng’s hand was magical; wherever it touched Nangong Xue, her skin felt like it was on fire.

Nangong Xue completely melted. With a soft moan, she went limp in Ye Feng’s arms.

Seeing her pliant in his arms, his for the taking, Ye Feng swept her up and carried her directly into the adjoining suite.

Soon, a clear phoenix cry echoed from within, followed by...

Two hours later, the room was finally quiet.

Nangong Xue was nestled in Ye Feng’s arms, drawing small circles on his chest.

Ye Feng glanced at the time, and his eyes widened. "Holy shit, it’s twelve o’clock! Crap, I have to go!"

With that, he shot upright.

Nangong Xue looked at Ye Feng in confusion. "Ye Feng, where are you going?"

When she heard Ye Feng was going to Nanjun, Nangong Xue wrapped herself around him like an octopus and looked at him with pitiful eyes. "But I don’t want you to leave... Please don’t!"

"Xue’Er, I don’t want to leave you either, but I have something really important to do. I need to go find clues about my parents."

Hearing this, Nangong Xue immediately let go of him and said urgently, "Oh, so that’s what it is! You should hurry then, go on!"

Ye Feng nodded and was about to get dressed, but in the next instant, Nangong Xue pounced on him like a wildcat. She looked down at him, her teeth clenched as she spoke.

"Who knows how long you’ll be gone this time? You’re not leaving until you’ve satisfied me completely..."
