Chapter 172: Chapter 172: Beat Him to Death for Me; I’ll Take Responsibility If He Dies

Upon hearing this, Yao Qing shrieked, "I told you all not to provoke them, but you just had to go and do it! You want to play the hero, but I don’t! I’m not going, no matter what!"

With that, she turned and stomped up to the second floor.

Su Zheng gave a wry smile, then gestured for the others in Hundred Herbs Hall to follow him out.

Ye Feng, who was already at the door, saw Su Youning and the rest of the group approaching. "Ningning, what are you doing out here?" he asked, puzzled.

Su Feng, standing beside them, shot Ye Feng a glare. "Why else? We were worried about you. We came out because we were afraid something would happen."

A wave of warmth washed over Ye Feng as he looked at Su Youning. ’What a good, considerate girl.’

He smiled at Su Youning. "Ningning, go on back. I’ll be fine!"

"No." Su Youning shook her head stubbornly.

Ye Feng suddenly burst into laughter. "Alright then, Ningning! I’ll take you with me to conquer the world and see all its wonders!"

With that, he led Su Youning and the others as they stormed toward Longevity Hall.

...

「At Longevity Hall, less than a kilometer from Hundred Herbs Hall.」

Ximen Long sat in a spacious second-floor office, leisurely sipping tea.

Ximen Long set down his teacup and looked at the old man across from him. "Steward, give Wang Bin a call. See how things are progressing."

The steward smiled. "I’ll call him right now. But rest assured, Young Master. When Wang Bin makes a move, there are no mistakes. I expect he’s already shut down Hundred Herbs Hall and is preparing to bring Su Youning to you!"

He then picked up the phone and made the call.

Ximen Long chuckled. "I think so too. A nobody like Ye Feng wants to compete with me for a woman? He wants to fight me? He’s not worthy. He has no idea how powerful the Ximen family is!"

He raised his teacup for another sip, but at that moment, the steward gasped, "What? Wang Bin was arrested?"

"PFFT—" Ximen Long sprayed a mouthful of tea everywhere. He glared at the steward and demanded, "What did you say? Something happened to Wang Bin? How could a nobody like Ye Feng have that kind of power?"

The steward lowered the phone, his face pale. "According to our men," he said to Ximen Long, "Prefect Zheng Yong happened to be passing by. He’s the one who arrested Wang Bin."

"What a fucking coincidence! My whole plan is ruined!" Ximen Long slammed a fist on the table and snarled through clenched teeth.

"But I refuse to believe his luck will hold out forever."

He picked up his phone to make a call, but just then, someone ran in and reported to Ximen Long, "Young Master, Su Zheng is here with a group of people."

When he heard this, Ximen Long burst into laughter. "Su Zheng must have seen what I’m capable of and gotten scared. He’s obediently delivering his daughter to me! The old bastard knows his place after all. Let’s go! I’m going down to see my wife!"

With that, he rose and walked out, the steward hurrying to keep up.

The group arrived at the entrance to find Su Zheng, Su Feng, Ye Feng, and Su Youning standing there.

Ximen Long roared with laughter. "Uncle Su, are you here with your people to offer a formal apology? Hoping I’ll let Hundred Herbs Hall off the hook, are we? Fine. I accept your apology. But I have two conditions."

He then pointed at Su Youning. "First, you leave Su Youning with me today."

Then he pointed to Ye Feng. "This bastard keeps provoking me. You must hand him over to me as well, to do with as I please.

"Agree to both conditions, and we can forget this ever happened. If not, I’ll destroy Hundred Herbs Hall!"

"You..." Su Zheng’s face went pale with rage at the man’s audacity.

But just then, Ye Feng stepped in front of Ximen Long, his right hand whipping up and delivering a massive slap to his face.

A sharp CRACK echoed as Ximen Long spun around several times from the force of the blow before collapsing onto his backside.

Ye Feng looked down at Ximen Long and chuckled. "Is this how you wanted to ’deal with’ me?"

The many onlookers from Longevity Hall were stunned by the scene.

Ximen Long was the young master of Longevity Hall, an existence of immense power and arrogance. How was it possible that someone had just slapped him in public? ’It... it can’t be!’

Ximen Long himself was frozen in shock. He’d never imagined Ye Feng could be so audacious. It took him a long moment to snap out of it. He scrambled to his feet, pointed a trembling finger at Ye Feng, and roared in fury.

"Fine! You scum! You dare hit me? You’re in for it now! You’re in for some serious shit..."

Before he could finish, Ye Feng took a single step, instantly appearing before Ximen Long. He grabbed the pointing finger and bent it back. With a sickening SNAP, the finger broke. Ximen Long let out a piercing shriek of pain.

Ye Feng looked at him impassively. "You were saying? What ’serious shit’ am I in?"

Ximen Long snatched his hand back and staggered away, his eyes turning crimson as he glared at Ye Feng. He snarled through clenched teeth, "You’re about to find out just what kind of shit you’re in."

He then turned to the Longevity Hall security guards and roared, "Get him! Kill him! Kill him!"

The guards in the back, brandishing rubber batons, charged at Ye Feng.

But just as they reached Ye Feng, before they could even make a move, Ah Dao appeared in a flash in front of his master and charged the oncoming guards.

The Longevity Hall guards were sent flying back one by one, as if struck by a speeding train. They slammed hard onto the ground, wailing in agony. They struggled for a while, but none of them managed to get back up.

Everyone stared at Ah Dao, their eyes nearly popping out of their sockets. ’How can he be so strong?’

A flicker of fear crossed Ximen Long’s eyes as he watched Ah Dao, but it was quickly replaced by a sneer. "Do you really think some third-rate tricks are enough to run wild in front of my Longevity Hall? Let me tell you, you’re not even close to qualified!"

He then turned toward the hall and bellowed:

"Uncle Lin!"

No sooner had the words left his mouth than a middle-aged man appeared abruptly before the crowd.

The man had a brutish, fleshy face and triangular eyes that glinted with a sinister light. The moment he appeared, an icy chill filled the air. The onlookers felt as if a bucket of ice water had been dumped over their heads, and the hair on their arms stood on end.

This was clearly not a man to be trifled with.

Ximen Long sneered at Ah Dao. "Allow me to make an introduction. This is the protector of the Ximen family, Lin Qiang. Do you know what his cultivation level is? He’s a Tier Five Martial Venerable.

"An expert of his caliber can do whatever he wants in the entire South Prefecture. Your pathetic little tricks are less than nothing before him. You dared to act so brazenly at the gates of my Longevity Hall? You’re a dead man."

’It’s Lin Qiang.’ Upon hearing the name, Su Zheng’s face went white.

Having dealt with the Ximen family often, he knew all too well how formidable Lin Qiang was.

He’d heard a story about a group of more than ten experts who’d gone to make trouble for the Ximen family, only for Lin Qiang to single-handedly crush them all. ’This is one tough, ruthless bastard!’

He could tell Ah Dao was skilled, but compared to a monster like Lin Qiang, they weren’t even in the same league. ’If they fight, Ah Dao is sure to lose!’

Su Zheng quickly stepped forward and called out to Ximen Long, "Young Master Ximen, please don’t be angry! We can talk this over..."

But before he could finish, Ximen Long cut him off brutally. "My finger is broken, my men are all disabled, and you want to ’talk it over’?

"Talk my ass!

"These two pieces of scum are going to die today. Not even the King of Heaven can save them."

He turned to Lin Qiang and said through clenched teeth, "Uncle Lin, do it. Beat them to death for me. If there are casualties, I’ll take full responsibility!"

Lin Qiang nodded and advanced menacingly on Ah Dao.
