Chapter 188: Chapter 188: Today, I Will Level the Nanjun Martial Arts Association

Su Dingbang sighed. "That boy went to the Martial Association today. Do you really think he’ll make it back?"

Su Youning spoke with conviction. "Grandpa, he’ll definitely be back!"

"You foolish child. How could he possibly stand up to the Martial Association?"

"He will." After saying her piece, Su Youning ran toward the car.

Su Dingbang stared at Su Youning’s retreating figure, stunned. ’That girl is so naturally aloof, she keeps everyone at arm’s length. So how did she fall for Ye Feng?’

He sighed. "My dear girl, I don’t object to you liking Ye Feng, but he’s really not coming back. He’s not coming back!"

By then, Su Youning was already in the car. Su Dingbang shouted urgently, "Girl, where are you going?"

"I’m going to support Ye Feng." With that, Su Youning started the car. Su Dingbang cried out, stumbling over to grab the door handle as he shouted urgently:

"Girl, are you crazy? You’re going to get yourself killed, don’t you understand?"

Seeing the determination in Su Youning’s eyes, Su Dingbang sighed and turned to get into the car. "Alright, I’ll go too. At least I can stop you from doing anything foolish. If something happens to Ye Feng, we’ll just retrieve his body. We owe the old master that much."

Just then, Su Feng got into the car as well. "I’ll go too. I’m worried about Ningning."

Su Youning’s eyes lit up. She gunned the engine and sped off toward the Martial Association.

...

The southern suburbs of Nanjun.

An osmanthus grove.

Nestled among the trees was a complex of ancient, traditional-style buildings.

The complex was fronted by a towering gatehouse. On the lintel above the gate, two large, gilded words were written in a flamboyant script: Martial Association!

This was the Nanjun branch of the Martial Association.

A few disciples of the Martial Association were loitering at the entrance, chatting idly and looking completely unconcerned.

It made sense. Who in their right mind would dare cause trouble at the Martial Association? Only someone with a death wish.

Just then, the roar of engines echoed from the distance. One of the guards glanced over casually and saw a convoy of black vans speeding toward them. They screeched to a halt in the parking area.

The doors flew open and a swarm of men in black suits jumped out. They charged forward and quickly fell into formation, the cold light of their machetes glinting ominously. A wave of murderous intent washed over the area.

Then, a man in a Tang suit strode forward, two steel Baoding balls rotating in his palm. The rhythmic clanking was strangely unnerving.

It was Duan Peng, the underground emperor of Nanjun!

The Martial Association members at the gate were visibly stunned. ’Someone actually dares to cause trouble here?’

But the moment they recognized Duan Peng, they flew into a rage. A heavyset man stepped forward, got right in Duan Peng’s face, and jabbed a finger at him, roaring:

"Duan Ergouzi, you’ve got some nerve showing your face here! You tired of living, you son of a bitch?"

The words were barely out of his mouth when Duan Peng cracked a grim smile. His right hand flashed out, and a vicious slap sent the man sprawling to the ground.

Duan Peng chuckled as he looked down at the man. "Is my nickname something a dog like you gets to use?"

The other guards were stunned. Duan Peng used to be too scared to even show his face near the Martial Association. ’Did he grow a spine overnight or something?’

The men quickly snapped out of it. They glared at Duan Peng and roared in fury, "Duan Ergouzi, you dare attack one of our own and stir up trouble? You’re courting death!"

"Brothers, get him! Waste him!"

With that, they grabbed their weapons and charged at Duan Peng.

Duan Peng waved his hand and bellowed, "Brothers, attack! Waste them all! Today, we’re leveling the Martial Association!"

With a collective roar, the men behind him raised their weapons and charged, crashing into the Martial Association guards.

The Martial Association members were clearly more skilled, but they were no match for Duan Peng’s sheer numbers. In a flurry of blades, every last one of the guards was cut down.

Duan Peng wiped the blood from his face and laughed boisterously. "Brothers, charge! Today, we level the Martial Association!"

With that, he brandished his machete and led the charge into the gatehouse.

But in the next instant, a black shadow flashed toward him. A foot slammed into Duan Peng’s chest. He grunted as he was sent flying backward, crashing hard onto the ground. He opened his mouth and a spray of blood flew out.

Duan Peng turned and saw a large man in a Martial Association uniform standing there, staring at him coldly.

Just then, an old man in a long robe walked over. His right sleeve fluttered empty in the wind, the arm clearly missing.

It was the Martial Association’s butler.

The butler looked at Duan Peng and laughed, his voice dripping with fury. "Duan Peng, a piece of trash like you dares to stir up trouble at the Martial Association? You’ve got some fucking nerve! Since you’re so eager to die, I’ll be happy to send you on your way!"

With that, he waved his hand and roared, "Get him! Mince him!"

The large man beside him nodded and charged toward Duan Peng.

"You want to touch Master San? Not while we’re here!" the brothers behind Duan Peng roared, raising their weapons to meet the charge.

The large man didn’t dodge or weave, but met them head-on.

Any of Duan Peng’s men who got close were instantly sent flying. In the blink of an eye, a score of them were on the ground. The large man quickly reached Duan Peng and sneered,

"You think you can take on the Martial Association with this bunch of rabble? You’re not worthy! Now, die!"

With that, he raised his machete and brought it down on Duan Peng’s head.

But before the blade could connect, a black shadow flashed from behind Duan Peng, its hand darting out to catch the large man’s wrist. With a reverse grip, the hand squeezed.

CRACK! With a sickening crunch, the large man’s wrist was snapped clean in two. Jagged bone pierced the skin, and blood sprayed everywhere. It was a gruesome sight.

The large man screamed in agony and stumbled backward, his face a mask of terror as he looked up at his assailant.

A tall, elderly man stood there. He looked at the injured man and said calmly, "They may not be worthy. But what about me?"

Seeing the newcomer, Duan Peng scrambled to his feet and said respectfully, "Duan Peng pays his respects to Squad Leader Wang!"

The man was Wang Tao, the new Squad Leader of the Nanjun Dragon King Pavilion.

The butler stared at Wang Tao and said coldly, "Wang Tao, what do you think you’re doing?"

Wang Tao met the butler’s gaze and stated calmly, "Leveling the Martial Association."

"Hahahaha..." The butler burst into wild, unrestrained laughter. "Just you? Wang Tao, let me tell you something. Not only will you fail to level the Martial Association today, but your precious Dragon King Pavilion will be wiped out as well."

With that, he turned to an elderly man behind him and said respectfully, "Guo Jingang, if you would be so kind as to deal with them."

The old man nodded and advanced on Wang Tao.

A large man behind Wang Tao stepped forward. "If you want to touch our Squad Leader," he said calmly, "you’ll have to get past me first."

With that, he fearlessly charged the old man, and the two collided with tremendous force.

With a deafening BOOM, the old man was sent stumbling backward, a trickle of blood already at the corner of his lips. He was clearly injured.

The old man stared at the large man in terror. "Who are you?"

The man replied coldly, "Zheng Yuan, one of the sixteen Guardians of the Dragon King Pavilion. A Tier Seven Martial Venerable."

"A Tier Seven Martial Venerable!" the butler cried out, staring at Zheng Yuan.

Zheng Yuan chuckled as he looked at the butler. "So, do you still think the Dragon King Pavilion can’t level your Martial Association?"

Zheng Yuan had barely finished speaking when a calm voice sounded from behind him. "With just you? You’re not worthy."

As the words faded, a figure appeared in a flash, striking Zheng Yuan in the center of his back with a palm.
