Chapter 197: Chapter 197: I, Ye Feng, Have Always Been My Own Backing
Feeling the suffocating pressure, Ye Feng blurted out, "No matter how big they are, they’re not as big as yours!"
"You pervert!" Hearing Ye Feng’s suggestive remark, Mu Qingyun yelped and quickly straightened up. She shot him an angry, embarrassed glare, her pretty face turning bright red.
Just then, a beautifully dressed woman walked in. Seeing the two of them, she giggled.
"Ooh, already in each other’s arms? Are you about to jump into bed next?"
It was Ye Feng’s Third Senior Sister, Chen Yun’Er.
Seeing Chen Yun’Er, Mu Qingyun shrieked and quickly broke free from Ye Feng’s embrace. She glared at Chen Yun’Er, scolding her in embarrassment, "You brat, what nonsense are you spouting!"
Chen Yun’Er giggled and said, "What’s wrong with what I said? Don’t forget, Master said that we’re both Xiaofeng’s wives!"
Mu Qingyun scoffed, her face red. "Have you no shame? If you want to be his wife, you go ahead. I don’t!"
Chen Yun’Er grinned. "Really? Well, don’t regret it later!"
With that, she went over and hugged Ye Feng, saying with a sly smile, "Come on, Xiaofeng. Let’s the two of us go to bed and make a certain someone really jealous..."
Ye Feng coughed hard and beat a hasty retreat.
Chen Yun’Er’s giggles echoed from behind him.
In the room, Mu Qingyun glared at Chen Yun’Er. "Alright, stop that silly giggling! Spit it out. You never show up without a reason."
Chen Yun’Er turned to face Mu Qingyun. "I heard you ran into some trouble, so I raised some money for you. But it looks like that’s not necessary anymore!"
The next moment, her expression turned serious. "Second Sister, did you hear what Xiaofeng said? He’s planning to go up against the Martial Arts Association!"
Mu Qingyun’s expression also grew solemn. "I heard him. Should we tell Big Sister and Fourth?"
Chen Yun’Er shook her head. "You know the Martial Arts Association is filled with masters. Even Big Sister and Fourth can’t take them on."
Mu Qingyun immediately grew anxious. "Oh no, what are we going to do?"
Chen Yun’Er mulled it over for a moment before looking at Mu Qingyun. "Right now, the only one who can truly help Xiaofeng is Fifth!"
Mu Qingyun’s eyes lit up. "Fifth is the most skilled of all of us! If she takes action, she can definitely help Xiaofeng. Quick, call her!"
Chen Yun’Er nodded and made the call.
...
Meanwhile, Ye Feng was driving toward Hundred Herbs Hall.
He hadn’t driven far when a figure suddenly appeared in front of the car. The person raised their right hand and pressed it against the front bumper.
The wheels screeched against the pavement, sending up plumes of blue smoke. The acrid smell of burning rubber quickly filled the air, but the car couldn’t move another inch.
A calm voice spoke up. "Get out of the car. You’re not going anywhere."
Ye Feng stopped the engine, pushed the door open, and got out. A middle-aged man in a tracksuit stood before the car, staring at him coldly.
Ye Feng looked at the man and said calmly, "Sir, I don’t believe we have any grievances between us, do we?"
As soon as he finished speaking, another calm voice came from the side. "A pity. You and I, however, do."
Following the voice, a woman in a red trench coat stepped out from the side.
Her face was shaped like an inverted triangle, and her small eyes stared at Ye Feng, glinting like a viper’s.
"And who might you be?" Ye Feng lit a cigarette and took a leisurely drag.
The woman looked at Ye Feng and enunciated each word clearly: "Tang Xuan, daughter of Tang Wen of the Tang family, one of the four great families of Nanjun."
"You destroyed my Tang family. Today, I’ve come for revenge!"
Ye Feng flicked the ash from his cigarette and chuckled. "Just you?"
Tang Xuan sneered back. "If I’m not enough, what about him?"
She pointed to the middle-aged man beside her and said coldly:
"Let me introduce you. This is Cai Hong, runner-up in the Nanjun Martial Arts Tournament."
"Do you know his cultivation level? Let me tell you, he’s a Tier One Martial Emperor! In all of Nanjun, besides the one person above him, no one is his match. So, do you think he’s qualified now?
"The only reason you dare to be so arrogant is because of that big guy you have with you. Too bad he’s not here now, so this is the day you die!
"Ye Feng, you dared to destroy my Tang family and kill my relatives! You and I cannot live under the same sky! I swore I would rip out your heart to offer to the spirits of my family, and today I finally have my chance! Now, just die for me!"
She turned to the middle-aged man and said through gritted teeth, "Uncle Cai, do it! When he’s dead, I’ll give you everything I own!"
The middle-aged man nodded. He stomped his feet and shot toward Ye Feng like a bolt of lightning. He raised his right palm, and a fiery red palm silhouette materialized in an instant. A scorching heat wave spread out, and the nearby trees, enveloped by the high temperature, quickly withered before bursting into flames.
The middle-aged man looked at Ye Feng and laughed arrogantly. "This technique is called the Flame Palm. I’ve killed at least eighty masters with it, if not a hundred. You can die without regrets, knowing you fell to my Flame Palm. This is the end for you!"
With that, he brought his right palm down on Ye Feng with ferocious power.
Ye Feng stood there, motionless. Just as the palm was about to crash down on his head, he chuckled. With a flick of his right hand, the cigarette butt between his fingers shot toward the middle-aged man like a streak of red light.
From behind, Tang Xuan watched in horror as the cigarette butt pierced straight through the man’s forehead and out the back of his skull. Blood spurted out instantly.
The next moment, the phantom palm image shattered and vanished.
The man’s powerful aura rapidly deflated. He looked up at Ye Feng, his eyes filled with disbelief. But his pupils quickly dilated, and his body slumped limply to the ground. After a brief convulsion, he moved no more.
Tang Xuan, watching from behind, couldn’t believe her eyes. She turned to Ye Feng and shrieked:
"Impossible! How could you have killed Uncle Cai?! You’re just supposed to be relying on that big guy! How can you be this strong?"
Ye Feng looked at her and said calmly, "The only one I, Ye Feng, have ever relied on is myself."
Tang Xuan finally snapped back to reality. She understood that she had been wrong. Terribly wrong.
She shot Ye Feng a venomous glare and said through gritted teeth:
"You might have some skill, but you remember this: there are plenty of people in this world stronger than you! You just wait! I will avenge the Tang family!"
With that, she turned to leave. But in the next instant, Ye Feng appeared in front of her, a slight smile on his face. "What makes you think I’d let you go?"
He flicked his right finger, sending out a strand of energy. With a dull THUD, Tang Xuan let out a bloodcurdling scream. She struggled to look down and saw a gaping, fist-sized hole in her chest, from which a startling amount of blood was gushing.
Tang Xuan struggled to lift her head to look at Ye Feng, her lips trembling uncontrollably.
Ye Feng looked at Tang Xuan, chuckled, and calmly said something. Tang Xuan immediately spat out a mouthful of blood.
