Chapter 227: Chapter 227: This Name Is a Real Kick

After a long moment, he finally processed what had happened. He was in complete awe of Ye Feng.

He hurried forward a few steps and dropped to his knees behind Ye Feng with a thud. Full of shame, he said:

"Bringing the dead to life, growing flesh on bare bones... You are the true Divine Doctor! I, Guo Chao, was blind just now and offended the Little Divine Doctor. I am kowtowing to you as an apology!"

With that, he actually began to kowtow, his forehead striking the floor with loud THUDS.

Li Ming, who was standing behind them, looked on as if his eyes were about to pop out of their sockets.

’Who was Guo Chao? He was ranked third on the list of National Medical Sages, a veritable titan in the world of traditional medicine. He was also known for being incredibly arrogant, someone who looked down on everyone. And yet, today, he was actually kneeling to Ye Feng?’

He looked at Ye Feng, his heart filled with admiration. ’To receive a kowtow from a National Medical Sage like Guo Chao at such a young age... Ye Feng must be ecstatic!’

But to his surprise, Ye Feng simply stood there, his expression as calm as ever. He looked at Qin Nuannuan on the bed and said matter-of-factly:

"Your life is no longer in danger. I have other important matters to attend to. Once I’m done, I’ll return to cure you completely!"

Qin Nuannuan struggled to sit up and thanked Ye Feng sincerely. "Thank you for saving my life, sir. I, Qin Nuannuan, will be sure to repay you generously in the future!"

Ye Feng smiled and said, "It was only right for me to save you. You don’t have to thank me."

With that, he took out a token adorned with a white flower and held it up for Qin Nuannuan to see.

The moment Qin Nuannuan saw it, she cried out in excitement, "Young Lord! You’re the Young Lord!"

Then, she struggled to her feet, only to drop to her knees before Ye Feng with a thud. She spoke with the utmost respect:

"Qin Nuannuan, General Manager of the Imperial Capital’s Hundred Flowers Building, pays her respects to the Young Lord!"

The moment Qin Nuannuan finished speaking, a group of men burst in from outside. They were carrying gleaming machetes, and a cold, murderous intent instantly filled the room.

The large, heavyset man at the front pointed at Ye Feng and roared in fury:

"Well, well, you scumbag. You actually dared to come into the General Manager’s office. You’ve got some serious nerve!

"I’ll be damned if I don’t beat the shit out of you today! Brothers, get him!"

But just as his words faded, a cold voice rang out:

"What do you think you’re doing?"

The speaker was none other than Qin Nuannuan.

When the heavyset man saw Qin Nuannuan, his eyes lit up. He exclaimed excitedly, "President Qin, you’re all right! This is wonderful..."

But he quickly took in the scene. Looking at Qin Nuannuan, he shrieked, "President Qin, why are you kneeling to this scumbag?!"

Qin Nuannuan looked at the heavyset man and asked calmly, "In the presence of the Young Lord, tell me, should I not be kneeling?"

BOOM!

Qin Nuannuan’s words struck the heavyset man like a bolt of lightning!

The heavyset man froze, completely dumbstruck. An instant later, his face turned deathly pale.

’The Young Lord... He’s the future head of the entire Hundred Flowers Building! And I was just shouting about beating and killing him... Fuck, wasn’t that just asking for a death wish?’

Unable to bear it any longer, he stumbled behind Ye Feng, dropped to his knees with a thud, and began kowtowing repeatedly while begging for mercy:

"Young Lord, I was blind and didn’t recognize your greatness! I’ve offended you, and I am kowtowing to apologize!"

The men behind him all knelt in unison.

Ye Feng glanced at them and said coolly, "Get up. Try not to be so quick to judge people in the future."

Ye Feng had no intention of holding a grudge against them.

The heavyset man and his crew were so moved they nearly cried. ’Look at that,’ they thought, ’the Young Lord is so magnanimous!’

Just then, Ye Feng glanced at his watch and turned to walk out. "I’m heading to the medical skills tournament. I’ll come back to finish your treatment when I’m done!"

With that said, he turned and left.

Guo Chao scrambled up from the floor and jogged to catch up. Once outside, he reached Ye Feng and said with an obsequious smile:

"Master, you’re going to the medical skills competition, right? I know the roads well. Let me drive you. I guarantee I’ll get you there as fast as possible!"

With that, he hopped straight into the driver’s seat.

Ye Feng sighed and got into the passenger seat. Looking at Guo Chao, he asked, "Since when did I become your master?"

Guo Chao grinned cheekily. "I said that if you knew the Forty-nine Yang Returning Needles, I would kneel, kowtow, and accept you as my master. Well, I lost, didn’t I? Hehe!"

Ye Feng just chuckled and didn’t say anything else.

Guo Chao stomped on the gas, and the car shot off down the main road.

In the car, Ye Feng gazed out the window as a cunning glint flashed in his eyes. ’Long Xi’Er, if a seventy- or eighty-year-old man wins this competition, will you honor your promise and marry him? I’m very much looking forward to finding out!’

He then took out some materials and began working on his face.

Guo Chao, who was driving, happened to glance over at Ye Feng and let out a gasp. His hands trembled, and he nearly swerved the car into a ditch.

’How did a young man turn into a wrinkled old man in the blink of an eye?’

After struggling to get the car back under control, he stared at Ye Feng and exclaimed in astonishment, "Master, what have you done to your face?"

Ye Feng looked at Guo Chao and said calmly, "Remember, from this moment on, I am not Ye Feng. I am Master Feng."

"Yes, Master!" Guo Chao nodded quickly and replied with reverence.

’But even as he said it, he found it a bit awkward. What a name... catchy!’

...

New Era Square was the largest public plaza in the Imperial Capital, and right now, it was packed to the brim with people.

In the center of the crowd stood a large, elevated stage. A banner fluttered above it in the wind, bearing the bold, powerful words: Medical Skills Tournament!

The Medical Skills Tournament was being held here, and it had attracted top medical experts from various nations, all of whom had flocked to the capital.

There were three main draws. First, the generous reward promised by the princess. Second, if someone actually managed to cure the Emperor, the Great Xia Empire would owe them a massive favor. Third, and most importantly, winning the tournament was a golden opportunity to bring glory to one’s country and make a name for oneself.

Therefore, nearly all the top medical experts from every nation had arrived, their eyes set on the championship.

The Great Xia Traditional Chinese Medicine community had also made ample preparations, sending out its most star-studded lineup.

The team was led by Feng Qingwu, president of the Traditional Chinese Medicine Association. Following her were several other masters from the Great Xia Empire’s list of National Medical Sages. Aside from the number-one-ranked "Ghost Hand," Guan Chengyun, who was still on his way back from abroad, almost every other top practitioner was present.

When the spectators saw Great Xia’s formidable lineup, they were ecstatic. ’With a team like this, Great Xia Traditional Chinese Medicine has a great chance of winning!’

The Great Xia doctors themselves were chatting and laughing, brimming with confidence that one of them would take home the championship.

Feng Qingwu, however, sat watching the contestants from the other nations, a flicker of worry in her eyes.

’Great Xia’s contestants are certainly strong, but the other nations haven’t sent any weaklings. The Yamato and Goryeo delegations, in particular, have each sent their National Preceptor—absolute titans of the medical world. They’re our strongest competition!’

A profound sense of uncertainty washed over Feng Qingwu. She couldn’t help but glance back, but the familiar figure she was looking for was nowhere to be seen.

A flash of disappointment crossed her eyes, but she quickly composed herself.

’Since Ye Feng gave me his word, there’s no way he’d stand me up.’

’As long as he comes, I’ll have the confidence we need!’
