Chapter 342: Chapter 342: This Path Is Blocked

Li Hao watched, horrified, as the allied soldiers bitten by the paper men went berserk, clawing and biting at their own comrades.

The afflicted soldiers’ expressions went vacant. They then turned and viciously attacked their comrades. The affliction spread like a plague, with more and more soldiers falling victim by the moment.

Li Hao was dumbfounded. ’What kind of fucking dirty trick is this?’

Just then, the Operations Adjutant, his face pale, shouted, "Your Highness, give the order! We have to kill the soldiers afflicted by this dark magic, or the consequences will be unimaginable!"

Li Hao couldn’t bear to have his men kill each other, but he knew the Operations Adjutant was right. If he let this "infection" continue, his entire army would be annihilated.

Li Hao gritted his teeth and nodded weakly.

The Operations Adjutant roared, "Kill the soldiers who have been cursed!"

Left with no choice, the allied soldiers turned their weapons on their comrades.

But the cursed soldiers were incredibly agile and possessed immense strength. Few of them were killed. Instead, many more of the normal soldiers were afflicted and began to attack those around them.

From the rear, Li Hao watched helplessly as his allied soldiers fell in droves. In the end, he had lost a full half of his men.

Seeing that the ten million soldiers he had brought were now reduced to less than three million, Li Hao’s eyes turned red with fury. He glared at Ye Feng and roared, "You bastard! I’ll slice you to pieces!"

With that, he raised his greatsword and prepared to charge Ye Feng.

But the Operations Adjutant stopped him, yelling urgently, "Your Highness, calm down! In terms of military strength, we no longer have an advantage over Malaysia. On top of that, who knows what other dirty tricks this bastard has up his sleeve? Confronting them head-on right now would be unwise. We should retreat, rally our forces, and then come back to destroy Malaysia and this bastard!"

Li Hao’s face was pale with rage, but he had to admit the Operations Adjutant was right. He stared daggers at Ye Feng and snarled through gritted teeth, "You bastard, just you wait. I’ll tear you limb from limb sooner or later."

He then turned his head to Xia Xingyu and said coldly, "Xia Xingyu, you are mine. You can’t escape. Just wait. I will be back."

With that, he led his routed troops away.

Xia Xingyu stared at the scene before her, unable to believe her eyes.

’An allied army of ten million, routed and sent fleeing by Ye Feng alone? Is... is this real?’

Just then, Xia Yanran cried out in excitement, "The allied forces were actually driven away! This is great!"

She then threw her arms around Ye Feng and planted a loud SMOOCH on his cheek, shouting happily, "Ye Feng, you’re amazing! Absolutely amazing!"

But she quickly came to her senses. ’Heavens, did I just give my first kiss to Ye Feng?’

The next moment, her pretty face turned completely crimson.

But Ye Feng’s next words nearly made her explode with rage.

Ye Feng pushed her away and said with a look of disgust, "Don’t you know how many germs are in saliva? That’s very unhygienic, understand?"

"Ye Feng, you’re inhuman!" Xia Yanran was so angry she wanted to castrate him.

But then, Xia Xingyu sighed and said, "Li Hao is the type to seek revenge for the smallest slight. Even though we forced him to retreat this time, after suffering such a huge loss, he definitely won’t let this go. Once he gathers enough strength, he will be back."

As she spoke, her brow furrowed with worry.

But Ye Feng, standing beside her, just chuckled. "Leave? He wishes. How could I possibly let him go after he had designs on my fiancée?"

Xia Xingyu glared at Ye Feng. "Li Hao has already retreated with his men. What can you possibly do to him now?"

But no sooner had the words left her mouth than a deafening explosion echoed from the top of Lion Peak. Xia Xingyu spun around to see clouds of dust billowing from the summit. Countless massive boulders, blasted loose by explosives, were now tumbling down the slope toward the middle of the valley.

Just then, the allied soldiers, who had been retreating in an orderly fashion through the valley, looked up and screamed in terror, "So many boulders! Run! Run!"

They scattered and fled in every direction.

But the valley was flanked by sheer cliffs, offering nowhere to hide in their haste. Li Hao, who was already near the valley’s exit, heard the commotion behind him. He turned, and his pupils contracted sharply.

He watched, horrified, as massive boulders rolled down the mountainside and crashed down upon the allied soldiers in the valley.

The allied soldiers had no time to dodge. Many were instantly crushed into pulp. Blood splattered, and severed limbs flew through the air.

Many others were pinned beneath the boulders, unable to break free, their agonized wails echoing through the valley.

In an instant, the entire valley had transformed into an Asura’s hellscape.

By the end, most of the soldiers were buried in the valley. Fewer than two hundred thousand managed to escape with their lives.

Seeing that his army of ten million had been reduced to this small handful, Li Hao burst into tears, wailing, "My brothers! I’ve failed you! It’s all because of my incompetence!"

With that, he drew his longsword and thrust it toward his own heart.

The Operations Adjutant beside him quickly grabbed him, shouting urgently, "Your Highness, you mustn’t! As long as there’s life, there’s hope! As long as you’re alive, you’ll have a chance to take revenge!"

Li Hao rubbed his eyes and stared at Ye Feng in the distance, snarling through gritted teeth, "Just you wait. I will not rest until one of us is dead."

With that, he led his routed troops and prepared to retreat beyond the pass.

But they hadn’t gone far when thunderous cannon fire erupted from the intersection ahead. A large contingent of troops appeared, blocking their path.

A cold voice followed. "This road is closed."

It was none other than Malaysia’s new Deputy Commander, Yang Hai.

"You fucking dare to block my path? Are you looking to die?!" Li Hao flew into a rage. He looked at his Operations Adjutant and roared, "Give the order! Kill these ants for me!"

But the Operations Adjutant quickly advised, "Your Highness, Yang Hai has a million elite soldiers with him! We won’t gain any advantage by fighting him now. We should retreat through Lao Ya Pass!"

Li Hao pointed his spear at Yang Hai and snarled through gritted teeth, "You, just you wait!"

With that, he led his routed troops and charged toward Lao Ya Pass.

But just as they reached Lao Ya Pass, another round of cannon fire echoed from the valley. A contingent of troops charged out, led by a figure in a blood-red battle robe. As the robe billowed, the words "War God" could be faintly seen.

It was the Great Xia’s Eastern Domain War God, Meng Jiaxin.

Meng Jiaxin pointed her longsword at Li Hao and said coldly, "This road is closed."

"The army of Great Xia." Li Hao’s expression changed dramatically. "Meng War God, I have no quarrel with your Great Xia Empire. Why are you attacking me?"

He dared to attack Malaysia, but in front of the Great Xia Empire’s army, his Yue Country was nothing. Even the combined forces of twelve nations couldn’t stand against the Great Xia Empire. So, in front of Meng Jiaxin, he could only grovel.

Meng Jiaxin looked at Li Hao and said coldly, "You may have no quarrel with the Great Xia Empire, but you have one with me. Because you provoked my little brother!"

"Your little brother?" Li Hao exclaimed in surprise. "Meng War God, you must be joking. I don’t even know who your little brother is, how could I have offended him?"

Meng Jiaxin shook her head. "No, you know him. My little brother... is him."

She said, pointing to Ye Feng.
