Ultimate Master in the City
Chapter 347: Xia Xingyu, Just You Wait
Chapter 347: Chapter 347: Xia Xingyu, Just You Wait
By this point, Ye Feng and his group had already returned to the embassy.
Meng Jiaxin looked at Ye Feng and said coldly, "Xiaofeng, you want to find clues about your parents. I can just go grab that Xia Xingyu for you. We’ll strip her down and you can take a look. Why do we need to waste so much time talking with them?!"
Ye Feng shook his head. "I’m not one to force things on people. That was why I was willing to help Malaysia, no matter the cost. And I still stand by that principle.
"I’m not targeting Malaysia, but I won’t be helping her anymore! I’ll be notifying the Kirin Battalion to withdraw from Yue Country immediately!"
He then looked at Du Lei beside him and asked in a cold voice, "Brother Du, has the message been sent?"
Du Lei nodded. "I’ll make the announcement right now!"
He turned and left. Soon, a message spread like wildfire across the globe:
The Great Xia Empire will no longer back Malaysia!
Ye Feng will no longer back Malaysia!
...
「Yue Country」
「The Imperial Palace」
Two unpainted wooden coffins rested in the center of the great hall.
Inside one: the old King of Yue Country, Li Cun, slain by the Kirin Battalion.
Inside the other: the Prince of Yue Country, Li Hao, killed by Ye Feng.
A young man in yellow robes knelt before the coffins, wailing loudly.
"Father, your death was so tragic! Brother, your death was so tragic! SOB... SOB..."
This was the second prince of Yue Country, Li Zhe.
After a long while, Li Zhe suppressed his grief. His eyes were bloodshot as he roared:
"Guards! Issue my command at once! Re-ally with the eleven nations! I want to mobilize the twelve-nation allied army and attack Malaysia! I will capture that bitch Xia Xingyu and force her into a ghost marriage with my brother!"
The moment he finished speaking, the old Chancellor at his side rushed to stop him, crying out, "Young Prince, you mustn’t be rash!"
"The Kirin Battalion is still within Yue Country’s borders, a looming, predatory threat. Meanwhile, Prince Ye Feng of the Great Xia Empire is still firmly backing Malaysia. If we move troops now and confront them head-on, our country will surely be annihilated! Young Prince, I beg you to reconsider!"
Li Zhe spun to face the old Chancellor, his eyes bloodshot. He opened his mouth to roar, but ultimately closed it, defeated.
He couldn’t deny it; everything the old Chancellor said was true. If he rashly sent out his troops, the only result would be a massacre of his own men. Even Yue Country itself would be wiped off the map.
His father and brother had been brutally killed, yet he was powerless to do anything. Li Zhe felt like his lungs would burst from the sheer frustration. He turned back toward the two coffins and began kowtowing repeatedly, wailing:
"Father, you were mercilessly slaughtered! Brother, your neck was snapped in two! And I am powerless to avenge you! I can only hide like a coward in my shell! Your son is useless! Your brother is a failure! SOB... SOB..."
Watching this, the old Chancellor’s eyes also grew red with frustration. He, too, wished he could give the order to attack Malaysia, but he knew he couldn’t.
If he lost his composure now, then all that awaited Yue Country was annihilation.
Just then, a messenger rushed in and reported excitedly, "Your Highness! A report for the Young Prince! Ye Feng has made a public announcement! The Great Xia Empire will no longer back Malaysia! And Ye Feng himself will no longer back Malaysia...!"
Before the messenger could finish, Li Zhe shot to his feet and rushed over. He grabbed the man by the throat, staring at him and demanding, "Is what you’re saying true?"
The man nodded emphatically. "It’s absolutely true!"
"HAHA..." Li Zhe burst into wild, unrestrained laughter. The next moment, with a THUD, he fell to his knees before the two coffins and cried out shrilly:
"Father! Brother! The heavens have taken pity on us! Our chance for revenge is finally here!"
"Just you wait! Malaysia, the root of our suffering, will pay a terrible price!"
"Brother, I will soon capture that bitch Xia Xingyu and make her your bride in the afterlife!"
With that, he shot to his feet, turned to the old Chancellor, and declared, word by word, "Chancellor, hear my order!"
"I am here!"
"Contact the eleven nations at once. We will join forces to invade Malaysia. As for all of Malaysia’s wealth and territory, I, Yue Country, will not take a share. It will all be left for the other eleven nations to carve up!"
"Yes! I will see to it at once!" the Chancellor replied, turning to leave swiftly.
Just then, another messenger arrived. "A report for the Young Prince! The venerable master of our late National Preceptor, Elon, requests an audience!"
Li Zhe’s eyes lit up. "Quickly!" he shouted excitedly. "Show the venerable master in at once!"
A short while later, a Tuduo walked in.
The Tuduo had wrinkled skin and white hair, looking ancient and frail. Yet, as he stood there, he seemed as immovable as a mountain, and a terrifying pressure instantly filled the hall.
This was clearly a peerless martial arts master.
Seeing the Tuduo, Li Zhe hurried over and bowed deeply.
"Li Zhe pays his respects to the Venerable Master!"
The Tuduo stared at Li Zhe, his gaze icy. "Who killed my disciple?"
"Answering the Venerable Master, it was Ye Feng of the Great Xia Empire!"
"He deserves to die," the Tuduo said, enunciating each word. A terrifying killing intent instantly saturated the air, and the temperature in the vast hall seemed to plummet!
Li Zhe’s eyes brightened. He quickly said, "Venerable Master, I am preparing to march on Malaysia to avenge the National Preceptor!"
"Good. Count me in." Having said his piece, the Tuduo turned and strode away.
Li Zhe stared in the direction of Malaysia and spat out, word by word, "Xia Xingyu... you just wait."
...
「Malaysia」
「The Imperial Palace」
The Royal Study!
Xia Xingyu sat there, her face livid.
’That scoundrel Ye Feng... How dare he make such a shameless demand of me! It’s utterly outrageous! I, Xia Xingyu, will never bow to brute force! I will never submit to his pressure!’
Xia Xingyu’s voice was cold. "Guards!"
A courtier hurried in and bowed respectfully. "Your Majesty."
Xia Xingyu gave a cold command. "Issue an order immediately. Command Marshal Yang Hai to lead all of Malaysia’s elite forces to the northern border. They are to be prepared to repel an invasion from the Great Xia Empire at any moment!"
"Yes!" The courtier acknowledged the order and quickly departed.
Xia Xingyu spoke aloud to the empty room, her voice like ice. "Ye Feng, let me tell you something. I, Xia Xingyu, am no pushover for you or anyone else to squeeze. I would have preferred peace, but if you want to bully me, I will make any enemy who dares to invade pay a horrifying price!"
Just then, a messenger burst in frantically. "Your Majesty! A report! Prince Li Zhe of Yue Country has reassembled the twelve-nation allied army! They have amassed on the Southern Border of Malaysia! They’ve already broken through the mountain pass and are inside our borders, advancing straight for the Imperial Capital!"
"PFFT—" Xia Xingyu sprayed a mouthful of tea. The next moment, she shot to her feet, slammed her hand on the table, and roared:
"Has that Li Zhe completely forgotten Ye Feng’s warning? How dare he stage a comeback! Does Yue Country truly wish to be wiped from existence?!"
"Since that’s the case, they can’t blame me for what I do next! Immediately, summon Ye Feng! Tell him to come to the main hall to see me! I want him to give the order at once! Use the Kirin Battalion and annihilate Yue Country for me! Annihilate them!"
The messenger looked at Xia Xingyu and said helplessly, "Your Majesty, you seem to have forgotten... Prince Ye Feng has completely fallen out with us. He’s our enemy now. Why would he be willing to help us at a time like this?"
The words struck Xia Xingyu, and she froze, stunned into silence.
In that moment, she was struck by a sudden realization. ’Having Ye Feng backing me... how safe it felt!’
Now that she had lost his support, she suddenly felt utterly alone and defenseless. Her heart felt hollow and empty.
