Chapter 373: Chapter 373: Drag Him Out, Death by 1000 Cuts

Long Ao looked at Xiong Hai and asked coldly, "Do you want to die?"

Long Xiaotian burst into laughter. "Even if he wanted to die, could you even kill him? Long Ao, stop bluffing. You’re finished today! The throne is mine! The Great Xia Empire is mine! Ha ha ha..."

Just then, Xiong Hai appeared before Long Ao. He suddenly lashed out, his hand reaching for Long Ao’s shoulder.

Long Ao tried to dodge, but a terrifying aura locked him in place. He felt as if his body were bound by a thousand chains, rendering him completely immobile. He could only watch helplessly as Xiong Hai’s large hand reached for his shoulder.

Long Ao’s expression changed dramatically.

But just then, a shadowy figure flashed past, appearing before Long Ao in an instant. A right fist shot out.

A thunderous boom echoed, followed by a bloodcurdling scream.

Long Ao saw it clearly: a massive fist had punched straight through Xiong Hai’s heart. The fist emerged from his back, blood dripping from the knuckles in a gruesome display.

Then, a contemptuous voice rang out. "You think someone like you has the right to be arrogant here? You’re not worthy!"

The one who had struck was Jue Yuan, the abbot of the Shaolin Temple, who had just arrived.

Xiong Hai stared at Jue Yuan, his eyes filled with utter disbelief. "You... you..."

Jue Yuan kicked Xiong Hai in the stomach, sending him flying sideways. He slammed hard onto the ground, convulsed for a moment, and then fell still.

Everyone present stared at Jue Yuan, their eyes nearly popping out of their sockets.

’Who was Xiong Hai? He was a Tier Three Martial Immortal, an expert so dominant he could cripple the Great Xia Empire’s Dragon Guardian, Xuanyuan Cheng, in a single blow. Yet before this monk, he couldn’t even withstand one move before being utterly defeated. How can this monk be so powerful?’

Long Xiaotian shot to his feet. Staring at Jue Yuan, his face turned grim as he asked, "Who... who are you?"

Jue Yuan replied calmly, "Jue Yuan, abbot of the Shaolin Temple. Though I have since renounced my vows. You may call me by my given name, Wei Huang."

Long Xiaotian stared at Jue Yuan and exploded with rage. "Damn monk! We have no quarrel, yet you dare to ruin Long Xiaotian’s grand plan! Are you looking for death?"

The words had barely left Long Xiaotian’s lips when a calm voice drifted in from the doorway. "You may have no quarrel with him, but you have one with me!"

As the voice spoke, a man walked in with his hands clasped behind his back.

Ye Feng had arrived.

Seeing Ye Feng, Long Ao roared with laughter. "My boy, your timing is impeccable!"

He then turned to Long Xiaotian and sneered, "Let me tell you now, the Royal Son-in-Law is my final trump card."

Long Xiaotian’s face grew so dark it looked like storm clouds had gathered.

His eyes darted. The next moment, he looked directly at Jue Yuan and said, "Wei Huang, whatever he’s paying you, I’ll double it! No, five times! Just agree to follow me!"

Even a fool could see that Jue Yuan was the key to the entire battle. If he could be won over, the tables would turn instantly, snatching victory from the jaws of defeat.

But he had barely finished speaking when he saw Ye Feng chuckle, walk over to Wei Huang, and call out warmly, "Father-in-law."

"Aye," Wei Huang replied with a smile, his mouth splitting into a grin that stretched from ear to ear.

"So you’re..." Long Xiaotian’s face turned a ghastly color. He stared at Ye Feng and suddenly let out a cold, mocking laugh.

"Ye Feng, did you really think I wouldn’t factor you into my plans? You’re dreaming. If I’m not mistaken, all of your women are in my hands by now.

Ye Feng, I know you’re a sentimental man. I know how much these women mean to you. Surely you’re not willing to lose everyone you care about for this incompetent emperor! You don’t want to watch all your women die horribly in front of you, do you!

So I advise you to back down quietly. This is a high-stakes game you’re not qualified to play!"

Ye Feng looked at Long Xiaotian and chuckled as well. "The very fact that I’m here proves I already know your true colors. And since I know you’re the mastermind behind all this, how could I possibly fail to guard against a treacherous villain like you?"

With that, he took out a phone and made a call. When it connected, he said calmly:

"Xi’Er, how about you and the other girls make some dumplings for me for lunch? I’m suddenly craving them!"

Long Xi’Er’s voice came over the phone. "Okay, we’ll get right on it. Try to be home early for lunch."

She was followed by Nangong Xue’s furious roar: "Ye Feng, and just what is the deal with Wei Qingqing?!"

Then came Wang Luyao’s voice, seething with anger: "You’d better think long and hard about how you’re going to explain yourself when you get back! If we’re not satisfied, I’ll crush your balls!"

Ye Feng coughed loudly and quickly hung up. ’I was in the middle of looking cool! Talk about ruining the mood! Couldn’t this wait until I’m home?!’

The onlookers stared at Ye Feng, completely dumbfounded. ’Gods, are all his women this fiery?’

Ye Feng hung up, looked at Long Xiaotian, and said calmly, "Did you hear that? They’re at home, making dumplings for me."

Long Xiaotian glared at Ye Feng and suddenly sneered. "Do you have any idea who I sent? The Vice Commander of the Blood Guard! And do you know his cultivation level? Tier One Martial Immortal! You think your little gaggle of friends could possibly stop him?

You’re dreaming!

Stop this charade! I’ll prove it to you right now!"

With that, he took out his phone and made a call.

But no one answered. Long Xiaotian’s expression changed. He dialed again. Still no answer. Long Xiaotian froze on the spot.

Just then, Wei Huang looked at Long Xiaotian with a grin. "Don’t bother. He’s already dead. He won’t be picking up."

"Impossible! The Vice Commander is a Tier One Martial Immortal!" Long Xiaotian shrieked at Wei Huang.

Wei Huang sneered. "A Tier One Martial Immortal is nothing. Do you know what my wife’s cultivation level is? Let me tell you, she’s a Tier Three Martial Immortal."

"Your wife?" Long Xiaotian stared at Wei Huang, then sneered again. "So what if you sent one expert over? I sent three hundred Blood Guards! I refuse to believe one person can kill all three hundred of my men. As long as a single one gets through, those women become my hostages!"

Wei Huang looked at Long Xiaotian and chuckled. "Ever heard of the Blood-Handed Asura? That’s my wife. And have you ever heard of the Blood-Handed Asura leaving any survivors?" ℯℯ𝑙.

"The Blood-Handed Asura... It’s the Blood-Handed Asura!" Long Xiaotian shrieked, his face instantly turning as pale as a sheet of paper.

He knew he had blundered. Utterly and completely.

At that, Long Ao slammed his hand on the table and shot to his feet. He pointed a trembling finger at Long Xiaotian and roared in fury:

"You treacherous rebel! Do you have any more tricks up your sleeve? Use them! If not, then prepare to be executed by a thousand cuts!"

With that, he bellowed to the guards outside, "Men!"

No sooner had he spoken than a squad of the Royal Inner Guard rushed in.

Long Ao pointed at Long Xiaotian and gave the cold command, "Drag him out and execute him by a thousand cuts!"

"As you command!" the Royal Inner Guards replied in unison and charged toward Long Xiaotian.

But just then, Long Xiaotian’s phone rang shrilly. He answered it and listened for a moment, his eyes suddenly brightening. He then let out a great roar:

"Stop right there!"

The Royal Inner Guards, who had just reached him, stopped in their tracks and stared at him in confusion.
