Ultimate Master in the City
Chapter 381: A Thunderous Rage
Chapter 381: Chapter 381: A Thunderous Rage
In front of the palace gates stood only a few dozen guards, poised and ready. But as for a welcoming committee, there was absolutely nothing.
Xia Yanran looked at Ye Feng. "Ye Feng, did we come to the wrong movie set? No, that doesn’t seem right. This is definitely the entrance to the Great Xia Imperial Palace!
So, Ye Feng, where’s the welcoming committee?"
Ye Feng’s brow furrowed slightly. Just then, Xia Yanran looked at him and twisted the knife, shaking her head as she spoke.
"Looks like you were all talk, Ye Feng. Here in Great Xia, your status is... heh!"
Ye Feng’s expression turned completely cold.
He paused for a moment, then took out his phone and made a call. It connected quickly, and Long Ao’s cheerful voice came through. "Prince, you’ve arrived, haven’t you? I’m on my way now. I want to personally greet the Queen..."
But before Long Ao could finish, Ye Feng cut him off, his voice flat.
"We’re all adults here. Why are you giving me the runaround? If you didn’t want to host us, you should have just told me beforehand. I wouldn’t have brought my wife. Why are you embarrassing me like this?"
Long Ao was stunned for a moment, then replied with exasperation, "You brat, is that any way to speak to your Father Emperor?"
Ye Feng’s voice remained flat. "I speak to people based on how they treat me. You respect me an inch, I’ll respect you a mile. I, Ye Feng, believe in returning favors in kind.
Long Ao, I may not be some big shot, but I have my pride. I refuse to kiss anyone’s ring. So goodbye to you!"
He hung up, turned to Xia Xingyu and Xia Yanran, and said coldly, "We’re leaving. So much for being ’friendly neighbors’."
Xia Yanran looked at Ye Feng and chuckled. "Who was that, customer service? I bet you only dare to get that mad at some poor call center agent. It sounded impressive, I’ll give you that. But the reality is... heh..."
Seeing the dark look on Ye Feng’s face, Xia Xingyu quickly cut Xia Yanran off. "Can’t you just say a little less!"
Xia Yanran pouted. "But he’s the one who was bragging, and I’m not even allowed to say it..."
Ye Feng ignored her and took out his phone again.
Just then, a group of people hurried over. At their head was a man in a dragon robe and crown—it was none other than the emperor of the Great Xia Empire, Long Ao.
Xia Yanran was dumbfounded. ’The Emperor of the Great Xia Empire is really here?’
Long Ao walked up to Ye Feng, who was still on the phone, and said with a wry smile:
"Prince, why are you so furious?"
He didn’t look like the emperor of a nation, but more like the friendly uncle from next door.
Ye Feng said flatly, "Hold on, I’m on the phone."
The guards at the gate were so frightened they nearly collapsed.
’Good heavens! How dare he be so insolent to the Emperor of the Great Xia Empire! Has Ye Feng lost his mind? There’s no way the Emperor will let him get away with this!’
But to everyone’s utter astonishment, Long Ao didn’t get angry at all. He actually stood there and waited.
Just then, Ye Feng’s call connected. He spoke in a chilling tone, "Yufei? Listen to my order. Immediately pull the Wind Chasing Group out and relocate to Malaysia. And tell Second Senior Sister that the Cyan Cloud Group is to do the same, effective immediately."
He hung up and immediately dialed another number. "First Senior Sister, as of today, I, Ye Feng, am severing all ties with the Great Xia Empire. I need you to resign from all your posts within the Empire and come with me to Malaysia."
Another call followed. "Ouyang Nan, hear my order! Immediately pull everyone from the Dragon King Pavilion out and relocate to Malaysia. Also, notify Qin Nuannuan to shut down every Hundred Flowers Building in the Great Xia Empire and move operations to Malaysia!"
Then another call went out. "Wolf Fang of the Qilin Battalion, hear my order! As of today, I, Ye Feng, have severed all ties with the Great Xia Empire. The Qilin Battalion will no longer involve itself in any of the Empire’s affairs..."
The veins on Long Ao’s forehead throbbed. ’Are you planning to hollow out the entire Great Xia Empire?!’
Seeing Ye Feng about to make another call, he rushed over to stop him, a pained smile on his face.
"My dear son-in-law, are you really going to cut off all ties with me?"
Ye Feng looked at Long Ao and said coolly, "Do I look like I’m joking?"
Long Ao stared at Ye Feng and suddenly asked, "What about Xi’Er? Are you abandoning Xi’Er too?"
Ye Feng froze.
Long Ao looked at Ye Feng, his smile pained. "My dear son-in-law, why exactly are you this furious? You have to at least let me understand what’s going on, don’t you?"
Ye Feng stared at Long Ao. "Let me ask you, I called you ahead of time to tell you my wife was coming for a formal meeting, didn’t I?"
"Yes! And I arranged for her to be received with the highest honors. I haven’t been disrespectful, have I?" Long Ao asked, looking at Ye Feng in confusion.
Ye Feng let out a cold laugh and pointed to the empty plaza. "Long Ao, this is what you call the ’highest honors’? Are you taking me for a fool?"
Long Ao’s eyes swept across the area, and his expression instantly turned cold. He looked at Ye Feng and said:
"My boy, I understand now why you’re so angry. I will give you a proper accounting for this today!"
With that, he turned to the Head Eunuch, Cheng Lin, who was standing nearby, and said in a calm voice:
"Cheng Lin, what were my orders?"
Seeing the unconcealed killing intent in Long Ao’s eyes, Cheng Lin was so terrified he felt his bones turn to jelly. His face went pale as he cried out:
"Your Majesty instructed me to order the Honglu Temple to make arrangements according to the Great Xia Empire’s highest diplomatic protocol!"
Long Ao pointed to the empty plaza. "This is your ’highest protocol’? Do you take me for an idiot? I’m asking you, is this how you handle my orders?"
Cheng Lin’s legs gave out. With a THUD, he fell to his knees before Long Ao. "Your Majesty, I was wrong! Please, Your Majesty, punish me!"
Long Ao’s voice remained calm. "Get up. Welcome the Queen first. I’ll settle the score with you later."
"Yes, yes!" Wiping away cold sweat, Cheng Lin scrambled to his feet. He turned to the nearby Honglu Temple official and ground out through clenched teeth:
"What were my instructions to you? And what arrangements did you make?"
The official was shaking like a leaf. He stammered, "Lord Head Eunuch, I relayed your exact words to Lord Chen! He’s the one who arranged this reception! He said this is the protocol for welcoming a third-rate little country, and that he would take full responsibility for any consequences..."
"Enough!" Cheng Lin was so furious he felt like his lungs would explode. He wanted to strangle the official on the spot. ’This goddamn idiot! Does he even know how to do his job? Is he trying to get me fucking killed?!’
He barely managed to suppress his rage and said to the official in a cold voice, "I ordered Chen Liancheng to personally oversee this reception. Where is he?"
The official said quickly, "He said he was coming! I’ll call and rush him!"
He quickly took out his phone and made the call.
Just then, a Bentley sedan slowly pulled into the parking lot. A pot-bellied man got out, answered his phone, and snapped impatiently:
"What!"
The official saw it was Chen Liancheng and hurried over. But before he could even speak, Chen Liancheng launched into a tirade:
"It’s just a reception for some third-rate country! Do you really need to make such a big deal out of it? You insisted I come personally, and it interrupted my damn foot massage. I couldn’t even relax! Why the fuck do I even keep a useless piece of trash like you around? When I get back, I’m firing you..."
The words had barely left Chen Liancheng’s mouth when a cold voice spoke up from behind the official:
"Getting foot massages during work hours... You lead a very leisurely life, don’t you, Chen Liancheng!"
Chen Liancheng glared at the speaker, craning his neck defiantly. "So fucking what if I get a foot massage? Is it against the law..."
But halfway through his sentence, he recognized the speaker. He instantly clammed up like a strangled rooster, the rest of his words dying in his throat.
